See How Your Mass Effect Choices Compare to Everyone Else's

I'm still playing Mass Effect 2 since I started from ME1 a short time ago. But ME3 was an awesome game. Played Sentinel, used my tech and biotics to get through shields and barriers. It was tough in one, because I could only use Light Armor. But after spending a lot of credits I found a groove with certain weapons. Used a rifle as back up.

Then in ME2 I found Tech Armor makes you a tank. I was able to walk into an open battleground and face down anything. Except those Scions. Damn things. Tried to get as much shield bonus armor as I could.

In ME3 I used better armor with shield bonuses and just took on the Reapers, Cerberus, and anything else with my rifle and pistol. I love my character.

It's like the Saints Row 2 and Saints Row 3 debacle. If you never played saints row 1-2, of course your going to think Saints Row 3 is this awesome stupid fun. However, if you played 1-2 (especially 2) before 3, you would know then what was missing in 3 and why 2 is more critically acclaimed.
Actually, if you're a PC gamer Saints Row 3 is significantly better than Saints Row 2 because it's not a horribly buggy totally unplayable mess, but that has more to do with terrible porting than anything else.
also if your a PC gamer you cant even paly Saints row 1, so double failure from saints row creators.

82% of the players who finished Mass Effect 3 were playing as Male Shepard, leaving only 18% playing FemShep.
The fact that this adds up to 100% is weird. I finished multiple playthroughs with both female and male Shepards, how the hell do I fit into this statistic?
it probably adds it all up, meanign if you played 3 male and 2 female you owudl be contributing 60%-40% or it jut takes the first/last playthough. when counting percentages you will always get 100% because your counting from the total data you have, in this case game finishes, not the percentage of "femshep per person".

Nah, my venomous comment is in reaction to Jim's video, not to just choosing Male Shep. I'm just saying, seeing the statistic here, that 82% of players is a lot more one-sided than I would've thought, and that's what I call boring.
What if.... 82% of peopel who played ME3 were males, and everyone just played their gender? would that make them worth being raped with a rake? i always play male characters (with few exceptions). you know why? becasue i am male. i like to play the gender that i am in real life. i have nothing agaisnt female characters. if the game has female in leading role i wonjt hold it any lower for it. however if i have a CHOICE, i will choose my own gender.

The Male Shepard Soldier leading statistic is sad. Boring character coupled with uninteresting gameplay. Shame.
Male Shep a boring Character? Aside from very slight different lines of dialogue and the ability to bang straight dudes, FemShep and MaleShep have the exact same personality.

What I think you MEANT to say was Male Shep had a boring voice actor.
...
... Which I continue to disagree with. Even though he was rather bland in 1 and 2, Meer was great in ME3, I could see it straight from the beginning, when he talked to the kid in the vent. Plus Meer voice acted for the Vorcha and other roles, so it's not like he's a bad voice actor, he does have good vocal range.

I digress, though.

I agree with the soldier thing though, personally an Infiltrator myself.

I'm suprised that in most people's playthroughs apparently there are more Universes where the Quarrians are extinct than the Geth

So, after barely 36% completed DA:O, DA 2 was "tweaked" to reach to "other audiences" and ending structure itself was... let's call it: "streamlined". I mean, why bother, right?

Now we get to the part that was used by barely 18%, and rather expensive to produce in the first place. I wonder if it's going to be treated with the same approach and standards. It's, after all, business... right?

Your multiple playthroughs were probably counted as separate data points for purposes of compiling these statistics. That's really the only way BioWare can compile statistical data that make any sense. So, your games with female and male Shepards both contributed to the M/F statistic proportionate to the number of times you played each.

The statistics actually make a lot of sense when you consider that the posters on these boards does not represent the typical Mass Effect 3 player. The majority of players were looking for a game to tide them over until the next Call of Duty/Halo/other generic whitebread shooter game was released (the so-called "bro" demographic). Of course they chose to play a male soldier! It's worked for them in literally every other shooter they've ever played. Even though the information hasn't been released, my guess is that the majority went with the default male appearance; he is, after all, a generic-looking white male with short-cropped brown hair.

Interesting statistics.

It saddens me to see adept so low on the list. My second play through of ME3 (the culmination of a marathon run of ME1 and 2 just before 3 was released) was an adept and she was fun to play. But I guess dashing into the middle of combat with nothing but a shotgun and biotic prowess for protection is too much for all those boring soldiers.

I am surprised at the male/female Shep breakdown. I've played both a male and female character, and if I ever decide to play any Mass Effect games again, it's going to be a female. Jennifer Hale nailed her performance and if I've got to listen to someone again for a hundred-something hours of gameplay, it'll be her.

Is there a feature that allows players to compare all of the different endings they got?

Because that would be really neat.

Bioware should put out some amalgamated statistics, I wonder how many people did things exactly like me, femshep, insanity difficulty, infiltrator etc.

I'm currently doing a run-through as a Soldier and I can see why he's so popular with the majority; it's because he's so god-damn easy to play as. With my other two favourites (Engineer and Adept, take that majority) I have to worry about load-outs, power cool-downs, choosing squad-mates to complement me and most of those awesome power combinations are worth dirt when the Banshees and Atlas' show up.

With Solider, all I need to do is strap the 3 biggest, stupidest weapons to my back, and any opposition is basically a red smear on the wall within seconds.

People are complaining about Vega's high popularity, but that doesn't surprise me at all. He's a good character and he's useful in a combat. I'm personally more annoyed at how unpopular EDI and Kaidan are since I reckon they're two of the best characters in the game.

My thoughts:

As a male who plays FemShep, I have to say that I'm saddened by how few people play her. Not exactly surprised, admittedly, but Jennifer Hale is a fantastic voice actress, and from my point of view it was nice to see a huge, blockbuster RPG trilogy with a female protagonist. Hopefully there'll be a more even distribution next time.

I'm also baffled by the apparent popularity of Vega. I can only assume he ranks so high because he's around for all of ME3.

I also find it weird that 2/3 of people who played ME3 didn't meet Wrex. I'm surprised that most people didn't play all three games; the experience is so much richer if you do.
I personally dislike Jennifer Hale. Her voice gets on my nerves and causes me headaches (literally). Mark Meer isn't exactly "great" either, but he doesn't sound like nails on a chalkboard. Hale was the only reason I couldn't roll a FemShep, though I wish I could. I like rolling female mains as often as I can if given the choice.

I'm surprised that I'm not completely alone with liking James. He's an absolute tank and dishes out tons of weapon damage and frag grenades. Just give him the Revenant or Typhoon, and he'll kill things quicker than you can. He had a neat character as well, even if he was a little tame when compared to others.

Glad to see that ManShep is the most popular. FemShep just sounds like she is always bored and uninterested in what's going on.

Shocked that the Soldier is the most popular class. I like the Soldier, but Combat Drones are way cooler than Concussive shot.
