Probably, but never to my face. Mostly from people who spend six hours a day on Facebook, but still have the nerve to say people who play video games have no life

My baby's momma loves throwing that line at me. Doesn't bother me though. I would much, much rather have no life and spend all my free time with my son than go out all the time. When she has our son, the babysitter spends more time with him than she does, and to me that's life's priorities way out of whack.

You get bullied? :(
I'd say the majority of Escapists have been bullied at one point or another. This is more or less a gaming website after all.
Thereby establishing the stereotype that gamers are weak-willed nerds who exist only to be picked on? Nice job playing the victim.

I was bullied as a child. Then I hit puberty...and grew...and got strong...and remembered old grudges.
I SAID bullied at one point or another. I never said constantly bullied. If you were bullied ten years ago, it still counts as getting bullied, even if you haven't been for ten years.

I never said gamers were weak-willed nerds >_> I myself have put a few of my tormentors in the hospital.

But Grey is really nice to everyone.

Why are people so mean? Makes me sad.
Simple answer, people are mean, because people are dicks. Humans put others down because they want to feel better about themselves. Humans live off the pain of others, I mean, look at Fear Factor or Wipeout.

It´s usually the nice ones, who get bullied. Or maybe he just grew up nice because of it. Anyway, you´re right, life´s tough, especially for a kid who´s at the tail end of the pecking order.

OT: No, I haven´t really heard that one, probably because when I was a kid, "get a life" didn´t belong to the usual list of Finnish insults. I´m not so sure about kids these days, though. I´m guessing it has becoming more common.

Actually I have at least "4" My life as a gamer, my life as a husband, my life as a son and my life as a teacher, also my half life as a mute nuclear technician!

I?ve seen it mentioned a few times and it?s hardly ever a justified statement.
It usual aimed at those who spend a fair amount of time doing something such as a hobby or developing a skill. We couldn?t possibly spend time doing this, still find time to do work and socialise as need be.

It?s used in the same way as when people tell someone they aren?t getting laid enough.

I've lost count of the number of times I've had that set of words directed at me. Personally, I never actually gave a shit about it. Then again, I was bullied for a bit in school and never really gave too much of a shit about that either.

I heard it once when I said that I studied computer science. Then I told her that one day, when her computer doesn't work, I'll be there, and I won't help her.

I showed her who's boss!

Also, I have to take a couple of courses for accounting as part of my curriculum... man, I feel overqualified when most of it revolves around stuff like "Your phone costs 10$ per month plus .10$ per minute. Plot the graph and interpret the gradient." Seriously, THAT is what I have to do in my 5th semester?

Honestly, I had never heard someone say it to me. I had said it to a few people, but they were HUGE nerds.

Dose that justify it though?

A few times. Usually online.
I do, of course, ignore it as the mindlessly spammed drivel it is. Right behind "******" in the list of things stupid people say when they can't think of any more interesting insults.

At the time, I think it did. Looking back though, I think it didn't.

Indeed, how does being a huge nerd means that he/she doesn't have a life? On week days I spend 5 hours studying, 5 hours on uni and the rest sleeping. Weekends I play my ass on videogames and occasionally go out with friends when I get bored. I'm a massive nerd and that doesn't stop me from going out, you see.

When I was bullied in middle school I got that for some reason. It never made sense because my bullies didn't know anything about me. When I got to 7th grade I played football and kicked the shit out of my bullies, it was revenge of the nerd. Life is good.

Never heard it said to me, at least in a serious fashion.

But I have been said to: "Oh, you're a lifer!" on Ventrilo.
