Thats completely ass backwards, gamers generally don't care if a character lacks huge bouncy cleavage but the SJWs soon start whining when one does have massive bouncy cleavage.
Well, unless you're concerned with reality, that is. I mean, people bitched about Lara Croft's breast reduction, and that one game where the cover art changed the midriff, but sure. Gamers don't care. It's the SJWs who are whining about these things. That are completely antithetical to being an "SJW." Because ponies.
One of those is changing a beloved and iconic character, the other is a midriff not breasts and the reason they where upset is the developer got coerced into changing it.
I wasn't aware that breasts were an integral part of a character?

Surely if we gamers don't care about the lack of cleavage then this isn't a big deal?

Doesn't really make sense in a game with a storyline and an established character.

However, I guess there's nothing wrong with options.

Is it really worth turning this into yet another SJW vs Misogynerd argument over a FUCKING RE-SKIN!? People, calm the fuck down, it's a nice bit of DLC is all. If Roseofbattle wants to phrase it in such a way it's his choice, why doe's every article that mentions the word 'women' have to explode into a bloody flame war?

I'm so tired of this shit.

Sure. Let's make excuses for why this is totally different.

Why were none of these people concerned when that "beloved character's" breasts got bigger? I mean, if it's only about changes....

Come now. Does this fool anyone?
The same happened with Dantes hair in DMC, in fact the noise was far louder so explain that. It also happened with some of the Sonic games when the characters eyes where a different colour or something, people don't like their favourite characters being changed.

I also remember the SJWs whining about Tomb Raider and drowning out any dislike for the character changes because they didn't like a cutscene shown in the marketing... Oh I don't doubt there where a few forum posters complaining about Laras breast size but thats nothing to compare against a torrent of blogs and attention grabbing headlines because the SJWs believed the cutscene was "misogynistic".

Honestly, I'd prefer if you could just customize like in other RPGs. Games like the Mass Effect series kept you stuck with one particular name (to make voiced cutscenes and the like easier) but you still had a lot of options. Why not do that with Grumpy McDarkbrood in Shadow of Mordor?

That's pretty cool.

I don't want it, but it's nice that it's offered for free as DLC for those who do.

It's also feels like a smart move towards inclusivity.

I'm okay with this. Makes me feel like a woman is doing all the heavy lifting while Talion shows up just for the story stuff.

That's cool, though I would have much rather seen an actual story involving the character rather than a reskin. I wonder if they changed the cut scenes. To match it. Like, can I start a new game and the play the whole game as her.... I'm guess not since she would effectively run into herself in the campaign. I was hoping for DLC with more substance, though at least it's free.

Oh my God, a woman. And one that isn't flaunting massive bouncy cleavage. The SJWs have won, this game is ruined.

...But on a serious note, the article leaves me slightly confused. Can she be played in the main story, even if she is "just a skin?" Or is it solely in these challenge modes?
I suppose there is a next generation of Godwin's law: As any online discussion progresses, the potential for SJW/feminists to be mentioned approaches 1.

I saw this article and was like, "Awesome!" and then I read it and I was slightly disappointed. I thought that she would be a completely new character to play as in the story. I realize that is insane--all new voice recordings and whatnot--but still, I had hoped.

But this is pretty awesome nonetheless. I'll be sure to download it when I finally put the game in. Dragon Age is consuming all of my time right now.

Lithariel also wears setting-appropriate clothing not all that different from Talion's.
It's kind of annoying you phrase this as if there was a doubt.

Tolkein's world was pretty much always practical when it comes to things people wear, so it's somewhat obnoxious to have someone drop a 'hurp durp, normal clothes!' in regards to it.

Then again, this entire discussion thread turned into one massive derp-fest, so I guess I'm not surprised.

Ubisoft sitting there going "but... how is this POSSIBLE?!"

Kudos to Shadow of Mordor. Easily the dark horse game of this year.

Isn't the general agreement that Talion is a shit character though? And that when Orcs aren't involved the storyline in Shadow or Mordor just kind of sucks in general?

Tolkein's world also talked about how revenge was a bad thing and Shadow of Mordor had revenge as the main selling point (That and orcs). So I think it would've been fair to be worried that this game wouldn't follow the feeling of Tolkein's world.

Pretty much. I was expecting it to be another example of high promise - low delivery. But they really have delivered the goods on this one. Not only is the game good and the PC Port great, they even keep rolling out these free updates adding content.

Makes the publishers like Ubi look even worse in comparison.

On a side note: What the hell happened in this thread? These people will find any excuse for an argument.

I just recently bought a PS4 so I could play Dragon Age: Inquisition. Now that this free DLC is out, I think I just found the second game that I?m going to buy for the PS4.

Should add a small story portion but skin only isn't interesting.

And really the people who celebrate this as victory of whatever should grow up.
Is that what you really want?
Just a skin for female so you can do your own victory dance of defeating the patriarchy or some shit Instead of a good written story for female?

Are some people that disparate for any female kicking ass figure even if it's an unknown female with no story nor background doing some fighting moves?

Now granted the story of Shadow or Mordor is just utter shit.
Gameplay is good but sadly gets boring after 4 hours even with you unlocking new skills mainly because the game is the same.

Huh that would have been amusing but sadly I'm not feeling much replay value in the game. Beating it as her isn't gonna be much different from beating it as Talion. And while it was great fun it doesn't look appealing the second time around due to lack of good story.
