you know... I probably would of paid full DLC prices ($30-40) if they put more effort in, same world different story/motive, different abilities. I know it's a lot of work, but that's what my wallet would be rewarding. The skin's free though, so I can't complain really. thank the studio for me, the thought and effort is appreciated.

Why do you people always turn it into this kind of argument. Someone's always gotta be bloody sarcastic, and someone always has to take it and run. Do us all a favour, the second you think of posting "LOL I bet THEY'LL be angry about this", or sarcastically imitating and mocking the group of people you hate, try this:

Close the fucking browser. Politely close down the window and reconsider making such an unneeded comment.

It's getting harder and harder to avoid infractions.

OT:
Even if it is just a skin, it's free and a nice little addition. From the looks of the article it won't really mesh with the story(?), but some of the older games have it it similar too (Return of the King for one).
It's kind of confusing actually, is this skin for only certain game modes or is it available in the single player?

So.much.THIS. It's really getting annoying. You are not clever nor funny nor snarky or witty. Just silly and passiv-aggressiv. And worse, somebody from the other side of that conflict is always gonne bite. Urgh.
On topic: An additional small campaign would have been cool, but a skin for free is a skin for free, so I'm not gonna complain.

Shadows of Mordor added a free female character? Ooh, I might buy it now...

However, Lithariel is available only as a skin rather than an entirely new playable character. Playing as Lithariel won't give you new abilities or actions. As Lithariel players will fight Sauron's forces through the new Test of Defiance challenge mode where you are unable to revive or use Wraith powers.
Oh.

The Race-card, in Middle-earth? Really?
woosh. Its me laughing at people who think this is some great achievement for diversity.

It ain't.

So I broke it down to how ridiculous it all sounds by saying "hey guys! diversity!"

This isn't the first time people have been hailing white women as the height of diversity, and it never gets any less funny.
*Rolls eyes* Not everyone is clamoring that this is a massive milestone. I'm pretty sure everyone is saying it's just a nice little bonus

And you know it'd be nice if we could go one announcement about these kinds of things without people in the thread getting sarcastically passive aggressive.

Where were the beloved character fans when Laras breasts were increasing with every game in both size and attention of animators?
To be fair, it would be really weird if we had the hi-res and fluid models of the recent Tomb Raider, but with a pair of 3-polygon triangle tits from the PSX era dropped on the front.
Yes, however when the developer choose to pay more attention to how breasts and ass gets wet when the character gets into water than gameplay we got a problem.

BULLSHIT!

Yes, I just called bullshit on your exaggerated statement
If we assume that first game had C-size breasts, by the time of Underworld her breasts should have been at size J
What changed from game to game was graphical improvement that allowed to model her better (thus making her more "curvy")

Also, by "young" do you mean those childhood episodes in 3rd game (I think it was in 3rd)?
I'm pretty sure she grew up since then (and usually breasts grow to certain extent too).

P.S.Just to point it out- I'm not fan of TombRaider or Lara herself. I just like to argue :)
Sir, Sir, the only one exaggarating here is you.

Thank you for proving my point
All I can see is bigger polygon count not bigger breasts.

P.S. While Nr4 have bigger breasts she is bigger in general, so proportionally there is no increase.
P.P.S. Also- WTF is Nr7?

if you cannot see a progressive increase in breast size you may want to zoom in. the image is in high resolution, dont let the forum automatic resize stop you.

Doesn't really make sense in a game with a storyline and an established character.

However, I guess there's nothing wrong with options.
Isn't the general agreement that Talion is a shit character though? And that when Orcs aren't involved the storyline in Shadow or Mordor just kind of sucks in general?
Also, there was already a DLC skin, as one of the Lieutenants. I know because that's all I ever play it as, because Talion is a douche (Seriously, there's 7 of him at my gym, every time. The only thing he's missing is a protein powder brand on his sleeveless shirt). Why they didn't just do their best impression of Viggo Mortenson is beyond me.

Cutscenes still use Talion, they're still voiced with the same actor, it's all the same, and it's probably the same with this skin. It's not anything to do with a storyline and established character, it's just a skin. Like the one of the red eyed ************ I've been playing through as.

The lady there is actually an NPC in the game, same as the Lieutenants. She's a questgiver and player in the game's big subplot.

Okay... Cool I guess? Why was this story framed by the idea that you can now play as a woman? Is that the only significant thing about this character? If so, I don't see how that's a step forward. Being able to play as a woman is not a rare thing, female characters imbued with as much pathos and complexity as male characters is the goal here, not just having women exist in games.

I would like to comment on the content itself, but this honestly isn't a significant enough feature to warrant discussion. Most game's don't get into the news for releasing a new skin.

Shit man, imagine how much hyper-intensive animation work they had to do. They must be losing so much money releasing this for free.
To be completely fair and to put it bluntly, she walks like a bloke. She has Talions walk. They also didn't bother animating her face at all and it looks hilarious in just about every picture i put her in.

There's a new gamemode with her in. You have one life, you do more damage but you have less armour. Its a pretty interesting design.
