As Drake led her outside he looked back to her a couple times. Catching wind of that slight innocent aura that she had about herself. As the finally stood outside free from the gravity of the situation he stood to the side slightly letting he gather herself. Drake figured she could use sometime to recover and would give her such. Wondering when exactly she would be okay to talk to his question was answered as he felt a kiss along his cheek. Rubbing his cheek unexpectedly he looked over to her as she began talking in a slightly fast pace. Cocking an eyebrow he though to himself.

She sure does seem pretty hype for a girl that just got thrown into a wall.

"Well Tori. My name is Drake, I won't lie. I've lived here for a little while, I just don't go outside much."

"Queen-high straight, y'all!" came the triumphant roar as Ryan flashed his cards on the table. Disgusted sighs could be heard as another heap of chips made their way over to his stack. Ryan was running hot today. He was already up a good $25,000 for his work so far. Quite the high roller set up they got here. I don't think I've ever done this well in just an hour.

"Boy, I tell you, I ain't never taken a whoopin' like this before," said the stereotypical Texan businessman in Seat 3. "I better give ya my hat, cause it's bankrupting me. Plus it'll get that hair outta yer eyes." He then made good on his word, tossing the dark black hat over towards the kid that cleaned him out. Ryan brushed off the inside of the hat, slid off his hood and put it on, the brim resting just above his aviator sunglasses. "Look's good on ya kid. Hopefully the cards I've been getting head over to you," The businessman looked down at his hand. "Ah hell, not yet anyway." He slid his two cards into the muck.

Ryan quickly looked down at his hand, a couple of Qs peeking up at him. Ah the lovely ladies. Better make it look like I'm not interested. He pulled out his phone and shot a quick text over to the newest number in his phone. *Micah buddy, how you doing, just testing the number, making sure this gets through to ya.* He slid the phone back in his pocket. The German tourist to his right decided to push his stack all in. He turned to him, looking him over. Hmmmmm, now what are you trying to do here Hans? You know I've been raising it up a bit. And I have been showing some junk hands. You trying to push me off? Was that a gulp in the throat? You are trying to put me off my blind. Silly Hans. You can't come over here and try and pull that.

"Call." The German muttered something in Deutsche and turned over a measly J-9. "Not the best charge to make, my man." Ryan displayed the Queens. The board offered no help for the visitor and he was left to slink out of the room. "Ah, I'm liking this hat, mate!" he called over to the Texan, just staring at him. "Come on, let's deal them again!"

Lyla felt her cheeks flush slightly. "Sure, but I have to admit that I've never really sat down around the table and ate dinner before. Whenever my parents were home we usually ate our meals at different times of the day. There's a first time for everything, I guess."

Lyla took off her seat belt and hesitantly got out of the car. All I have to do is not make an ass of myself.

Josh saw the girl's cheeks flush slightly. It was really cute to see how nervous she was, "Don't worry, we may have cash, but nothing beats a family meal. She always cooks too much anyway."

Josh walked into the house and his mother chuckled, "My that was quite the trip just for smokes son."

"Yep, but I met some people and brought one home, she drove me home today, I figured we would treat her to dinner, smells like you've gone and cooked too much anyways."

Josh's mother smiled warmly, "Welcome to our home, we'd be glad to have you for supper, its only something simple, rice and meatballs, but I would hope you would stay anyway."

Micah felt his left pocket vibrating. The same pocket where his cell-phone was, and the leg that was pressed against Jenna's lap slightly. Micah ignored the phone at first, and then realized that Jenna was coming on to him. Apparently she had seen Micah's kind gestures a sign of possible infatuation.

What do I do? Micah thought to himself. I mean, Jenna's a great girl, she's attractive, nice, and I have been wanting to get into the whole 'dating game'... But I don't want things to get awkward if something goes wrong. Fuck it... Just go with the flow, Micah. Let it happen.

Giving in to the moment, Micah looked into Jenna's blue eyes. Without thinking, Micah placed a small kiss onto Jenna's lips.

"I really care about you, Jenna."

Tori smiled,

"Well get out tonight then, come over to my place and I will make you a thank you dinner, I am not much of a cook but I will do my best!" Tori realized her elbow hurt a bit and had almost forgotten she was shoved into a wall, "Sorry if I seem so quick to be over what just happened, it is far from the worst of what that asshole has done to me."

Tori tried to divert the conversation back to the dinner in an attempt to forget about Rick,

"Erm, anyways, what do you say Drake? Dinner?" not wanting to lead Drake on she continued, "Look, I don't want to let you down, but I am not exactly looking for a relationship or anything... I am kind of turned off the idea of dating men right now. But I certainly want to stay friends..."

Tori rubbed the back of her neck realized how awkward she had now made the conversation.

The touch of Micah's lips on Jenna's was unlike anything she had ever experienced. Her other senses melted away, and she closed her eyes as he kissed her; the sensation was completely new to her, but it felt exhilarating and right. As he broke the kiss and whispered a few words, she breathed deeply, desperate for control over herself.

She opened her eyes, reached out with her free hand around him to the back of his neck, and kissed him back. Again, the feeling of his lips on hers dulled everything else, forcing her to close her eyes once more as she wound her hand into his hair.

Feeling how intensely Jenna was reacting to their kiss scared Micah a little bit. She wound her fingers into his hair, and pulled him towards her.

She's moving too fast! Pull back! Micah's brain told him. Reacting, Micah broke the kiss, and jolted upward, breathing heavily.

"What the... What just happened?" Micah asked, panting. "Shit... I'm sorry Jenna. You were up against me, and you looked so hopeful, and I blanked and... Fuck! I'm sorry."

Micah grabbed his water glass, and gulped the contents down, coughing slightly.

"You just... I just... I got nervous." Micah apologized.

Jenna forced her eyes open, and disentangled herself from Micah, shifting away from him. She buried her head in her hands and said between deep breaths, "It's my fault. I... I'm so, so sorry, Micah. I - I lost control as soon as you kissed me; it's why I reacted like that. I didn't know what to expect. Please... forgive me."

She got up, went into the kitchen and started to look for a glass for herself. Cold water would help her, bring her back to her senses.

Drake couldn't help but be impressed at the level she was taking this. She had just been thrown into a wall and almost punched in the face and she's brushing it off. As much as that made him happy she could deal with it, it also slightly worried him about what else Rick could have done at the utterance of 'much worse'. Listening to her talk and the invitation to dinner Drake smiled but was actually prepared to decline. Thinking back to his apartment he had things to pack away and things to do until his conscious slapped him across the head. Realizing this was what Devaughn was talking about earlier.

Heh, I guess this is one way to make friends. Besides I'm sure she knows many more people. Maybe this is what I really need. Can't believe I almost declined.

He came back into the conversation just as she was talking about now wanting to let him down however not wanting a relationship. As she said the he couldn't help but laugh slightly, as he was sure she thought she just made things awkward. With a light chuckle he replied.

"You don't have to worry about that. I just got finished helping you snip the last cord on a bad relationship. I'd be surprised if you wanted to engage in one with someone stronger than your previous which you know little about. No worries your not letting me down. I wont lie I don't have many...if any friends around here, so I'll take all the ones I can get. Dinner sounds nice."

As he said that, Drake leaned back against the outside gym wall showing he was content with whatever she said next. The last thing he would do is push a bad topic and anything referring to Rick right now would be such. Looking over her arm he was checking to make sure nothing looked to bad, rather than ask as bring them back to the recent past.

"Jenna... I'm sorry. I just wasn't expecting that to happen." Micah said, trying not to upset her. "I mean, I'm not upset that it happened... I mean, I've thought about it before. I just... I just didn't expect you to be so forward or... Look at me, I can hardly talk."

"Of course", Lyla said to Josh's mother. This is weird. She's nice. I've never been around a mother who's actually nice.. or cooks, or saids hi.. or who's even around. It's like I'm in bizzaro land. Okay, calm down. Everything will be fine as long as I don't make myself look like a fool.

"So what do you think of our quaint little town so far?"

Josh's mother smiled at Lyla, almost as if she understood what Lyla was going through, "The town itself is beautiful and most of the people are nice, so its been a mostly positive experience."

She paused and bit her lip, "The people in this area seem a little stuck up though, that might be just me though, but I can see why my parents lived in this area, they were always a little too high and mighty for my tastes."

She waved her hand though, "But enough about my past, I'm sure you don't want to hear an old lady ramble."

"Awesome, I'll be honest I wasn't taking no for an answer, pass me your phone I will put my number in there then text you my address." Tori received the phone, a few seconds later she handed it back to Drake, "There, be at my house at 6:30 alright? I'll see you then, thanks again Drake, you're really a great guy!"

Tori waved and walked toward her car, she got in and her phone buzzed once more, looking at her texts it was nice to have friends that cared as much as hers did, she sent the same text to both Nate and Lyla:
Code:
I dumped Rick, hving dnner w friend, tlk tommrow
She smiled and started the car.

"...new album comes out on Thursday. D'you think you could pick it up for me? Please?"

"I'll think about it." Nathan replied with a smirk. That always meant yes. In his ear, the phone made a soft ding! that signified a text. "Can you hang on a minute?"

"Yup, sure. No, Emily, you have to turn it this way-"

After hitting a few buttons, Nate arrived to the message screen, where a short reply awaited from Tori.

Code:
I dumped Rick, hving dnner w friend, tlk tommrow
Grinning ear to ear, he raised the phone back to his ear.

"Lucy? Want me to bring you some ice cream?"

Drake couldn't help but laugh as he handed her the phone leaning back slightly only to catch his cousin in the corner of his eye giving him two big thumbs up. Sighing looking back over towards his new friend he grinned hearing that she wouldn't have taken no for an answer. Receiving the phone back and hearing the sound of thanks once more he replied solemnly, "No thanks need. I'll see you at your house then. It was nice meeting you." Chuckling slightly he added, "Too bad it wasn't under better circumstances."

Waving as she walked away and sat in her car, Drake turned around only to bump into his cousin. Of course he was grinning from ear to ear as the girls address was still plastered on Drakes phone screen.

"Damn Drake you went one step further. Boys get numbers but real men get addresses. That's what I'm talking about."

Drake scoffed and looked to him, "Yeah yeah. It's a friendly dinner man. She just got out a relationship, besides that's the last thing I need now. I just have to work on keeping her as a damn friend."

Devaughn grimaced slightly and put his hand on Drake's shoulder, understanding full on what he meant. "She looked nice enough man. I'm sure she'll understand. Just make sure to bring your medicine with you. If you do go to her house."

Drake smiled as he grabbed his gym bag from Devaughn's hand. "Of course man. I couldn't forget that. Now get me home. It may not be a date but that doesn't mean I can be all sweaty when I get there."

Devaughn grinned as he walked with Drake over to the car. "Yeah and we need to pick you up some equipment. You packing heat man you need a silencer."

Looking at Devaughn laugh after he said that Drake only groaned as he hopped into the car. "Just drive before I beat you down too."

"Most people in this part of town are like that. Everyone else in town is really nice though. They'll help anyone out no matter what problem they're having." Lyla felt her phone buzz and reached into her pocket, taking it out and reading the text.

It was from Tori.

Josh smiled as Lyla and his mother enjoyed a good conversation. He knew his mother had been raised close to the way Lyla was look to be raised and he wanted to show her that not all people with money turned out like that. It was good to see that Lyla saw that now. He signaled to her, "Why don't we go hang out for a little before the meal is ready, should be something to do in this huge house."

Tori checked the clock on the stove,
Code:
6:22
it read,

"Damn, I still have to put some different clothes on." she pulled the chicken out of the oven and ran upstairs, the sound of her going up the steps echoed throughout the empty house, her parents and gone out for the night and Tori was left alone. She opened her closet and rummaged through her clothes, she didn't want to overdress, but at the same time, she shouldn't just wear a t-shirt, "Argh being a guy is so much easier."

She emerged from the bathroom a few minutes later, she had a small amount of makeup on, she ran back down the stairs and pulled out the cutlary, it took her 7 minutes to change and Drake should be arriving anytime now. She placed all of the food on the table and two settings. A simple dinner was all she could make, a green salad and marinated chicken breasts, it was simple, but tasty and healthy.

She sat on a chair near the front door and heavily sighed, she was finally done making the dinner and now she just needed to wait for Drake.

With visibly shaking hands, Jenna pulled a glass from the cabinet and started to fill it from the jug. She was close to tears; she could feel them building behind her eyes.

"I think I know how you feel, Micah," she said haltingly, between breaths. "I didn't expect... anything to - to happen the way it did. I'm the one to blame, it was my inexperience. I should've been in control of myself, and I wasn't." She raised the glass and drank half of it in one, feeling more relaxed as the ice-cold water flowed through her. She shuddered slightly at the temperature, but the shaking in her hands lessened.
