"Actor Shia LaBeouf, star of Michael Bay's Transformers movies" There are a few things wrong with this statement lets start with the easy ones

1. It says star when it's supposed to be about giant robots and humans are supposed to be generic and hardly noticeable if there at all
2. Michael Bay's Transformers movies seems to imply that it's about transformers when all that's present is humans being dumb and giant hunks of scrap metal flying around.
3. It calls him an actor when all he does is run around making an already bad move worse which is not acting.

Now this is just one little bit of that article so you can imagine how many problems there are with the whole thing. This proves one thing and that is not only does Michael Bay make crappy movies but they are so bad even articles about them suffer.

That aside yay maybe there wont be another transformers from bay. (but there will be and we all know it)

Even as a generic action film though, the first two Transformers movies still failed badly. The characters were uninteresting. They focused more on the whiny annoying kid with no redeeming features and pathetic character development. They mostly ignored the point of the film, giant robots, in favor of this kid and his annoying family and life. And when the giant robots that were supposed to be part of the film were on screen, most of the time it was a confusing, shakeycam mess that left people wondering what the heck was going on and which robots were supposed to be on the screen. They were just bad films. The fact that they pretty much take a dump over all the things that the fans liked about the cartoons is just the icing on top.

well what little good in the 1st movie was the giant robot fighting, and the bad in the 2nd movie was everything that isnt giant robot fighting (mostly the things involving you, Mr. labeouf). ive a hard time believing the 3rd one can be good if labeouf is still in it...

seriously, youd think michael bay would be perfect for transformers; its just CG robots punching each other, but why is THIS the franchise he decides to fuck around with what he does best?!

im not watching the 3rd and sure as hell not watching any others unless they get a new director; bay cant even do mindless explosions right anymore, and thats an ill omen if i ever saw one.

I don't really understand all the Shia Labeouf hate. I don't think I ever will
well I hate him because he plays the same damn character in every movie he's ever been in pretty much.

I never understood all the criticism for Bay's Transformers. I never watched it as a kid, so I'm not blinded by nostalgia. Sure, it was shallow, and there was nothing to it, but its an action movie. I didn't watch it expecting the Godfather, or Kill Bill, or anything particularly groundbreaking. It was an average film, sure, but that level or average doesn't correlate with the incredible level of hatred it seemed to inspire in people.
Quite simply the fact that we went in to see a movie about big stompy robots, and we got about a dozen human characters to watch instead. Sam Witwicky should have been scenery really, just someone to explain the Transformers back story to for the befit of the audience, and then make way for the aforementioned big stompy robots.

We did want a stupid action movie... we just got the wrong kind of stupid action movie, and what annoys people is that they can't believe Michael Bay messed up a stupid action movie.

I just hope it doesn't go too far in the opposite direction if they continue the franchise. Transformers should still be a big flashy action movie.

Shia LaBeouf was the only thing interesting about the entire universe and lore of transformers. Oh well, I guess I'll have to hate the movies from now on like everyone else.

never had anything against him. but also cant say i care that he will not be doing any more.
yes, bay makes lot of explosions but i still watch a bay movie then a awful uwe boll movie. i also dint mind the transformer movies as such. part 2 has really more action in it but i think its just a movie to just switch off. sometimes you just need something stupid to escape from reality. so why not some robots bashing each other with lots of explosions.
but yes, caring about these human characters who i think just play a little roll in it was a mistake.
but well. what can we do.

The problem with these movies is that they included the "Human Element" at all, all it did was subtract from intergalactic giant robots having a war! What part of that needed humans to make it better? The Transformers:Movie (animated one) was 100 times better then those last 2 piles of crap put together. And I'm not even raving transformers mad, but I can spot when U R DOING IT WRONG!

yes, i also liked the cartoon one too. ages now since i have seen it. i still cant say i hate the movies but i agree with the human parts. i guess they have to use humans to get some emotion in to it. megan fox pissed me off in it, even when she hot but useless in the movie. i cant say i will miss her in part 3.

If he ever had an interesting role, he might be a decent actor. I still think his best performance to date was the massively awkward teenager in i,robot (he's also only in it for like 5 min max in the entire film) this being the only time when i thought he was trying to be insecure and awkward. He might make a good Bond villain if he shaved his head.

I liked his preformance in Holes. lol He was better as a kid.

He added that it would be weird to see someone else playing a part he thought as his, but that he would be right there in the movie theater with everyone else. "You have an onus in it. I'll enjoy it. I'll go opening night, I'll be there. But there is a disconnect. It's mine, dude."
D'Awwwww, he thinks his character actually matters.

It's not like we can't give the transformers a new friend in 5 minutes of exposition.

"There is a doo-dad we need, here is the arcaeologist who found it. We are best friends now."
