No idea what a 'persona' is, reading Firefox's page for it though it looks suspiciously like the word should have been 'theme' in which case I use the Noia 2.0 theme
It has text explaining how to use the command prompt? Other than that nothing. And it's installed inside windows if that means anything. The Maddest March Hare said:Hmm, very odd. Is there anything in this command prompt or is it totally blank?Bored Tomatoe said:Oh! If I may pester you about linux, I installed Ubuntu 9.10 and after it finished the installation it shut down my computer. Now whenever I try to select it in dual boot it just brings up a command prompt instead of launching the GUI interface... Any idea why this might be happening?
I had Ubuntu as a dual boot for a while but it would always take me to the GRUB launcher on startup..
I admit I'm fairly good at derailing things..Sadly there is a surprising shortage of Linux based threads around the Escapist..perhaps it's time to make one..Ironboot said:Making games work properly through WINE is a pain. The only PC game I actually play is Guild Wars (it's mostly a pretty chat client now though) and it's still not perfect after trying to tweak it for a year. The only flaws are some texture glitches, but I can live with that.
Other applications usually just require a simple installation to work through WINE. Stuff like Spotify and Ventrilo worked instantly.
EDIT: I just realised that we're drifting away from the topic... There should be a Linux thread around somewhere.
Also, I know WINE isn't too bad, it's just a little added fuss for a computer gamer to go through during installation.
Hmm that is rather odd..take a look here and see if there's anything to help.Bored Tomatoe said:It has text explaining how to use the command prompt? Other than that nothing. And it's installed inside windows if that means anything.

Generally not a fan of these topics as they're not exactly encouraging discussion but damn I just fucking love this image.
GAH! There's SFIV for PC?! MUST GET!Tharwen said:Seeing this thread made me realise that my awesome Rise Against persona had broken. After a little experimentation, I discovered that they all had, so for now, my answer is:
No persona, but you can haz my desktop.

I took that picture myself
Am I the only one who thinks there should be a pixel-thick line above the bottom persona-y bit?
I'unno, but it's not difficult to setup a Photobucket and host it thereSuperMse said:I know this is stupid, but how exactly do you post a screen cap from your PC and not from the internet.
Excellent work, my friend, where can I get this program of yours?generic gamer said:that's awesome, i love that picture. i love evangelion humour, the series was just a tad too po-faced for my liking.Aby_Z said:![]()

the background is a mouse tracking from two and a half hours of dawn of war 2. i preferred the mass effect 2 one but i only just made this one.
Actually, I meant that it's the file from the Portal sound directory. You know the song that plays when a radio is picked up? It's that one. I had it on my desktop because I was making it my ringtone a while back and never removed it.Soylent Bacon said:Heeeeeeey...are you a Portal fan...?
You mean the startup sound is just a very long sound file, or you actually set Windows up to have looping audio whenever you're on the desktop? If the second thing, how did you go about doing that? I'm unaware of such a feature.Tinneh said:Not only is my desktop/theme Aperture Science, the .WAV file on my desktop is the radio loop from Portal.
Indeed. Plus, this scene just oozes awesome. To me, at least.Uber Evil said:I see you are a fan of World War Z, are you not.GreyWolf257 said:
