mabye I take things a little too seriously but I dont go for joke names

although on my first playthrough of Mass effect I named her Sally shepard because I thourght Sally was such a funny/harmless sounding name

for some weird reason I called my charachter in new vegas Shepard then totally forgot untill you actually mention your name in some dialogue I was like "wait what?! ohh right"

I dont think you even mention your name in Fallout 3

I usually go with Akira for most charachters Dont know why I think I just like it

Fagballs (various after the zelda review of Zero Punctuation)
Marry sue (irronicly a very dumb FO3 characther)
Douche (a rival from the pokemon games)
??? (my HG rival)
I also nicknamed a Geodude "Dude!" once
and a friend of mine called Tidus Tideous in FFX

I don't do this personally and never really have, but a few friends of mine did name characters, especially rivals, with 4-letter words. I never really got into this sort of thing.
Aww Yuri, it's funny at times when you're running out of ideas.

When I'm usually running dry I'll resort to Cockfag or something equally atrocious.

In my last FFVII replay, inspired by the Escapist crew:

Aeris: dead chick
Tifa: a sl*t
Cloud: a dork
Barret: token
Red XIII: Barks McGee

etc..

Hilarious (juvenile) dialogue ensues.

I named my character in Oblivion The Mighty Pants Man. He was a super hero who ran around wearing nothing and punching everyone, he also stole everything that wasn't bolted down and the bolts for the things that were.

Can't remember what game it was but I had Sir Oswald Deadbeat Chickenbreath, the mighty homeless man fighting for justice or scraps of food.

And always the standard arrangement of phallic names for Pokemon and Legend Of Zelda.

Uh, I'd have to say Eris Van Destra in my Morrowind game. Also, I never named my Pokemon rivals anything mean, it just seemed childish to me.

For WoW I currently have Slaptease the human, Spankstack the Dwarf, and Rubwrangler the gnome.

Lately I've been naming my RPG characters "Herpee Derp".
I've also used "Creamy Goodness" and "Lord Hamfist".

Isn't it weird, by the way, how silly names don't kill the immersion, but little things like, zum Beispiel, slightly off voice acting or pop-up textures can?

I used to go through a phase of naming the main character in my games after myself, regardless of whether or not it was male or female. It may have seemed stupid but I felt immersed in the game... Or something like that. It was funny regardless.
I still do that.

And if you have a sidekick, I name him/her after my cat.

If you can name your rival, I often give them a pun name, or something really mundane, like "Petteri". It's a normal name in Finland, and I don't personally know any, so quite a many times my opponent has been called that.

One time I just called Princess Garnet "I dunno." because I couldn't think of anything, and it actually wound up being pretty funny.

"From now on, I shall be known as.........I dunno!"
"Huh. Weird name."

Also, if there's enough space, I like giving my characters punny names like Mr. E, Hugh Jass, Rusty Hymen. My Commander Shepard's name? Her name is German, obviously.

I used to have the habit of naming main characters after myself and other characters after people I knew, depending on their relation to me. So allies would be named after friends and enemies after people I didn't like.

In once named Rinoa's dog in FFVIII 'Cock', allowing me to perform Cock Rush, Cock Search and Cock Strike. Juvenile, but still funny.
