I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought about the movie(s) with that title. *Feels younger* 8D

So wait, that post a while back that talked about a speedrun done in less than 2 hours or so, is it bull, then? Because I noticed two things: The mentioned a "series of main plots" and and endless game. So...no such thing as speedruns in this game?

Either way, I might pass on that. Oblivion was overwhelming for me, and yeah, I do like RPGs. So if Skyrim is 10 times bigger than Oblivion, I would probably create a character and go cry in the darkest corner of Skyrim.

I'm still shocked of the actual size of the game what is it on PC about 6 gig D: Must have some very good compression algorithms under it's hood.

So...it's a single player MMORPG now? That's not a praising feature to me. Everything still looks like it has that Fallout/Oblivion problem of forgetting to capture faces with emotive reactions other than "stare blankly". I cannot wait to Gamefly this, and be given two hundred quests by wooden slates dressed as people as I traverse the land, completely having forgotten about any kind of overarching plot from how inconsequential it seems.

Hmm... I can see at least one way to make this interesting.
There are two diametrically opposed guilds in the lore.
The Thieves' Guild and the Dark Brotherhood.
Sure, they're both stealth-based, but the latter demands that you kill...
while the former will punish you for killing.

So I wonder...
if you're actively pursuing both of those... and you get a random quest from both
at more or less the same time (i.e. before you actually go to carry out the task)...
well... here's my idea...
say you get a tip from a thieves' guild contact about a priceless gem that a noble has just brought into the city you're in right now... and the gem will only be there for a few days or a week or something.

Then, while you're preparing to make the heist, you get a note or something from the Dark Brotherhood ordering you to kill the nobleman who is bringing the gem in. And again, you only have a few days to complete this task.

So now you have two quests that you only have one chance to finish (more or less),
and you are basically forced to figure out a way to complete both without pissing off either...
or pissing off one of them and dealing with the consequences.

Just an idea. I doubt it'll turn out like that though.

As long as this game doesn't have multiplayer achievements that I can't get, I'll be happy.

(Gonna get it tomorrow night! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WHY ISN'T IT 12AM FRIDAY YET)

Well since it's so Never Ending there should be no way anyone could ever complete it in ooooh I dunno 2 hours? [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/113646-Skyrim-Beaten-In-Just-Over-Two-Hours]

I kid of course. But I'm seriously not buying this game. Someone tell me how it is because Elder Scroll never interested me.

Completing the main quest=\doing every little thing that can be done.

(The TES games are notorious for having very short main quests, but an extreme amount of side quests. The two previous games could be completed in under 10 minutes I believe. Whereas I put 100+ hours into either)

I believe it was confirmed to be a little over 8 gigs.

OT: This has no bearing on whether or not I am going to buy the game. (If you're interested, I've already pre-ordered and paid it off)

it sounds like a good idea if the quests affect the world.

like a guy needs helping planting crops and if you say screw you and come back after a month in game time that town will be running out of food and people will be dying in the streets or because the town would have to rely on imports their economy would be all messed up and they would jack up all the prices and if you refuse to help long enough the game will go through a random check to see wether the townspeople fix the problem by themselves or wether the town becomes a rat hole.

But you need to make the stuff more varied like along with food troubles have new dragons being born and causing problems, people being kidnapped, increase in gang violence, government conspriacies, and if you let the gangs go out of control they would mug you or you could join them and help them beat up other gangs and spread their power through out the world causing an alternate ending to the game.

I guess I wasn't alone in wishing to travel the land on Falcore.
someone will make a mod for that eventually

First you will steal that pretty little gem and finish the Thieves Guild quest. Then you run back in to kill the bastard who previously owned the gem. The world is huge though, so that might complicate things... Can you make it to your "Doyen" and back before the distraught nobleman leaves town.

I also don't think that will happen though. I would be distraught if it did, I want to be in both Guilds with clean record. Don't like paying fines :)

The potential downside to procedural generation, as any Daggerfall [http://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-Chapter-II-Daggerfall-pc/dp/B000BP3E0M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1320858335&sr=8-2] veteran can tell you, is repetition. Daggerfall was a huge game with a nearly limitless supply of dungeons but once you'd been through enough of them you couldn't help but notice that they were all rather same-y. 15 years down the road, Skyrim will presumably be better, but how it will avoid that trap - or for how long - remains to be seen.
I still play daggerfall on occasion, and i still enjoy it.

You know, as much as somethings about being in australia suck, especially regarding games, one thing that's cool is I CAN HAS THIS IN 5 HOURS. But I won't. I reckon it'll take about two weeks for the reliable user made patches and then I'll get it.

A Coworkers wife went into labor tonight (wednesday) I remembered about the Davokhin thing after he had left. He could have possibly won. I could have known the guy that won free games forever that he'll never play so I could get them.
