That happened to Lydia with me. Except it was like "one second she was right behind me, the next she apparently disappeared into the Negative Zone."

R.I.P Lydia-killed by foresworn mage while i was in another room looking for loot
R.I.P Malborn-im sorry i got confused and looked competely the wrong way while were brutally murdered by thalmor soldiers
R.I.P fuckwit prisoner-you run straight at a frost troll unarmed and unarmoured you pretty much deserve what you get
Farkas-M.I.A, presumed dead-the most interesting person to ever follow me into a draugr infested hole in the ground

also R.I.P shadowmere-death by deceptively short looking drop while running madly from markarth guards, who have been turned by an unfortunate glitch into chain-arresting hell spawn and will never stop hunting me who have turned the whole of the reach into a living nightmare

R.I.P., the horse I stole from the first Stormcloak camp I stumbled upon.
I ended your life after you wiggled your ass in my face one time too many, with that god-awful walking animation of yours.

This thread is dedicated to all the Companions We have lost in Skyrim

Lydia, Death by Fulmer horde.
-Survived 7 dragons, 2 liches, and 87 caves and dungeons you will be missed.
what a coincidence! my lydia died by a falmer horde too... if you can call a single one a "horde"...

and at one point i thought she was invincible because she walked through swinging pendullums like six times... she never seemed to get the timing right... though it WAS incredibly funny to watch.

RIP Faendal (the elf from Riverrun). I tried to get him to leave the party to AVOID the dungeon traps and soon as I dismiss him he walks right into a trap.

RIP The guy who wanted a pilgrimage to that one tree in Eastmarch. You shouldn't try to fight bears with your barehands and no armor.

Lydia MIA after I slept off a lengthy jail sentence.

a stray dog approached me to talk just as i clicked.. it didn't end well...

survived 0 encounters..

rip.

i don't hire companions, being the most overpowered thing in the game i just mow through things like they weren't there the only time ive died recently was to a giant when i had no amour now i can easily tank two of them to death even on expert difficulty

companions are entirely superfluous, although i do intend to try a mage type char after i'm done with my lizard paladin

so i might take a companion around with me to test it out

R.I.P. Horse, got in the way of a certain Shout one too many times.
R.I.P. Lydia, I needed that steel early on and you were annoying anyway. Fus'd off a mountain.
You made me laugh. That should be a new verb!

R.I.P. Erandur, when I had to kill you when you were trying to kill a quest-essential ally.
R.I.P. Ilia, when I had to kill you when you wouldn't give me my dragon scales and bones back
R.I.P. Lydia, when you straight up dissapeared, never to be seen again

R.I.P. Maurice, crazy bastardo, tried fighting off a giant with his bare fists, maybe he deserved to die for trying that?

R.I.P. - First horse I ever bought (from Whiterun). Lasted a good long time and plenty of exploration was done on her back. Then I accidentally rode her off a cliff whilst trying to get to the College of Winterhold. Now I have Shadowmere, who is a tough sonofabitch, and will hopefully never die. Knock on wood.

R.I.P. - Spectral Assassin version of Lucian LaChance. You (re)died like four times, three times from myself, and once from combination of a dragon, and a horde of forsworn dudes.

I'm not a huge user of companions in Skyrim, but for some reason, companions always end up dead when I play RPG's. Particularly RPG's of the Bethesda variety.

Poor poor Lydia...

Why do your Companions die that much?

In my game Lydia takes the punishment for charging the enemy hordes, then she falls to her knees and yields and then my Firebolts/Icesparks and Lightningbolt finish off the rest... Did I play on "Baby-Easy" or did you play on "Muthafukking Hard"

R.I.P. Lydia; you were killed, though a wall, by a Draugr Mage... I'm still not sure how that worked, but if only you would have let me pass you to protect you from him...

Also, R.I.P. first Horsey. I didn't have you long enough to name you, which is probably for the best since you fell down a 5 foot drop and died, throwing me literally to the wolves.

R.I.P Lydia, death by fire breath shout. Sorry.

Oh, and to the random merc I picked up for 500 gold, beaten to death by undead Nordic warlords.

After seeing how many times that first Shout has been used in conjunction with this thread, I shall slightly re-name it to...

RIP My Horse

I only owned it for three days. The stupid thing wandered off in a snowstorm after I got off to kill a frostbite spider and I never saw it again. That was a waste of 1000 septims.

Lydia, however, is still very much alive and very, very useful after 20 dragons, countless caves, dungeons and dwemer ruins, and all sorts of other scrapes. I'm really quite attached to her now. I have killed her several times, but I always reload because I never go more than a couple of minutes without saving so having her alive is well worth the effort.

Also, is it only on my game where she only dies through friendly fire? Whenever an enemy kills her, she gets back up, is that due to me only playing on the default difficulty.

Check you didn't tell her to wait somewhere. I did that and got all panicked because thought I'd killed her. It turns out she was back at my house in Whiterun, having been told to wait somewhere so as to get her the hell of of the doorway to me bedroom.

Am I the only person who gave Lydia upgraded armor? Exquisite orc armor, flawless orc blade, dwarven shield...pretty sure she can kill me.

R.I.P. Random Mercenary, you should never have told that giant to bring it on. I presume you are now on the surface of the mood challenging moonrocks to bring it on while you suffocate, you beautiful bastard.
