Edit: And now I've heard that you can potentially get up to 5000% damage on swords. Also this:

BRB, rerolling character.
I want that ring! WANT WANT WANT!

OT: I don't know, Skyrim's really really hard sometimes (mostly early game). Also, I find the strength of the giants utterly nonsense. I've had one giant take on a Dragon alone, kill it, only taking maybe a sixth of it's health in damage.

Of course, now my character's really taken off and can mostly one hit enemies with my bow and 30X stealth dagger damage boost (which also has a chance to instantly kill. Not OP at all!).

Considering my stealth skill is so incredibly high that enemies can't spot me until they bump into me, the game is incredibly easy now.

Except for the Giants. God I hate those Giants.

Naaaah. I watched a full health Dragon fight two Cave Bears. The Bears killed the Dragon and neither of them took more than a 1/15th of their health in damage. Then they came for me. THEN THEY CAME FOR MEEEEEE.

I died.

Neither do I. Archery is complete crap. You need to have it at least 40 for it to be on an equal par with any other combat type. It's slow, aiming is a pain in the ass, and as a result levelling it up takes ages. One shotting people, what the fuck.
If you level up enchantment, it's possible to get 5000% one handed damage while dual wielding.

Enchantment is broken.

That may be true, but the difficulty in the game is a mess. After making my way up to hrothgar and killing that troll (took 5 times) i complete the farmer's quest and when i leave his house 5 thugs jump me. I can't take that many mobs on at all. My companion has vanished (fuck knows why they had to hobble the player with yet more broken ai followers, new vegas was bad enough) and i can barely scratch even one of them. Archery is useless against thsi many people, any time I swing at one he blocks it while the other 4 wail on me. How on earth are you meant to play like this? Level scaling would have been preferrable to this random difficulty spike.
There is level scaling, though...

It kicks in HARD at level 20.

I didn't notice the difficulty being too low...and I'm playing with a generic sword and shield, heavy armor, huge amounts of health kind of character.

I don't know how i'm meant to play this. I'm level 11. I feel as if the game punishes me for following the quests (and i've done lots of side quests as well) almost from the start. There I am doing what I'm meant to do and suddenly I run into a mob that I can't deal with. Hrothgar is a prime example (it's also extremely boring walking up that path); the frost troll is really tough and he's right at the top. All that journey and if you can't fight him it's back with your tail between yoru legs - and it's not as if there's a warning that there are tough monsters at the top (a journey routinely made by a local farmer!). It feels like the game pulls the rug from under my legs.
Run past him. He's right near the Greybeard's place. The Greybeards are godlike and will smite the Troll.

I know what you mean man, I've been fucked over far too many times for my liking so far in Skyrim. I'm level 15 atm specializing in destruction magic and axes and I can't comprehend how someone could simply be that good that the game. Hell, I turned the difficulty down to apprentice and it's still fucking hard in points.
Especially those fucking finishing moves. I hate it SO MUCH that enemies can perform finishers on you when you're on low health, it's just fucked. Hey Bethesda, I DON'T LIKE BEING STABBED IN THE GUTS REPEATEDLY.
I'm fine with the finishers, what drives me crazy are the dragon encounters, those things are pretty tough, the worst part was after an ESPECIALLY brutal mission (I wont spoil anything, let's just say it involves "Northwatch Hold" and the Greymanes, you'll probably get it if you know those two) A dragon spawned right outside the place, it was in an isolated part of Skyrim so I could either, outrun the dragon or pray to the Nine that a few NPCs would come along to help me fight the thing.
I dunno, I've found the dragons to be fairly easy. What really shits me is that I can cleave my way through a dragon no problem, but I'll get my ass handed to me on a platter by almost any magic-user.
And I guess I hate those finishers because you'll still have a bit of health left that you could have used fighting, but it's all just taken out in a very in-your-face style, that seems to beckon "Well well, looks like you just suck, amiright?"
Same here. The first story dragon was very hard, particularly as I decided to charge straight at the beast without support and was promptly barbecued and carved to pieces. Every other dragon though has been strangely easy, causing me to suspect that they aren't scaling correctly to my level. They're still fun to fight though, and can get very tense if they attack a populated area. I have a something of a hero complex in games like this, and I absolutely must save everyone.

On the other hand I keep getting my ass handed to my by groups of enemies. One on one, even the toughest, battle-axe wielding bandit will go down without having to dip into healing spells and potions, but give that bandit a buddy and I'm in for a damned tough fight. That goes double for groups of spiders. That troll on the seven thousand steps was an absolute pain as well. Gangs of mages can be a nightmare if I go about it wrong, but because of their abysmal armour they become trivial if I can down one or two before they all open up. Even with a low level, un-perked marksman and sneak skill, a sneak attack arrow can bring one down, making the fight considerably easier.
I dunno. I don't think it's a scaling issue (because fuck scaling), I think it's more of a confidence booster, allowing you to getthe hang of dragon fighting whilst getting some sould to start off with and making you feel like a badass.

The game is kinda tough to me. I've died quite a few times so far. And I'm using a one handed weapon user mixed with destruction, blocking, and heavy armor. With a dash of other skills.

Currently I can't get past the 7000 steps area (whatever it's called) as there's a troll that kills me in three hits. So now I'm going to do some of the Companions quest line
Wanna know what I did at that part with the troll? Ran like fuck ... The thing can 2 hit you so, I just ran for it and lost it. Never even used the sprint button.

I was getting owned on the first of the champions guild quest, so I dropped the difficulty down to the easiest ... it got old dieing a lot and I really want to just enjoy the story.

I will up it on my next play through.

I've been having a way harder time than Oblivion, but that's probably just because they slowed down the bow's firing speed, removed it's block button, made you really slow while firing a bow, made it impossible to use spells and a bow at the same time, and I have yet to find a conjuration spell that doesn't require a dead body.

Most melee enemies run me through, since I can't move fast with an arrow drawn, and kill me in a few hits; and for some reason all mages in Skyrim are experts in dodging now, so I can't hit them until they're already close enough to blind me with their constant spells.

However, looking at spells that I can get and perks I can unlock, I should be able to make it work with some effort.

Edit: You know what? Why can't I kite an enemy while using a bow anyway? Mages can do it and heal themselves at the same time, why can't I do it with the weapon that's specifically made to be used at long range?

I felt so compelled to actually sign in using my FB account to say its funny. I believe you're lying, this is by far the most silly statement do you understand that the "Common" enemy's even when around level 20 don't have that much life to start with? and there is no way you're one shotting them on "Master" difficulty because they get damage reduction, and you're attacks usually get reduced, so with out futher adu screen shots or it never happened. I have played 15 hours like a previous poster and I'm hardly thought the main story let alone doing compainions as well. so there is a flaw in you're statement, and you could be telling the truth but the funny thing is I'm skeptical, the whole skyforge greatswords do less than my claws on Khajiit I can do over 35dmg with my unarmed combat set I made which isn't even fully done! and I attack with the speed of a dagger so >.> yeah we all know u think ur skyforge is the best but you clearly don't know about dragon armor yeah? sorry to rant. this is just funny how I refuse to believe this game is easy on "Master" trolls regen too fast Giants just no words for it, sabertooth tiger just ate the shit out of me infact >.>. so screenys or ur just a bit too far fetched. the game is hard thats what matters and BS to it being EASY on the best difficulty.

One last statement to the poster for this, if you're not lying and I really don't think you're telling the truth the game isn't about beating the storyline as fast as possible its a RPG and you're clearly incapable of playing it how it should be to be enjoyed not to be a challange but to be a fantasy world you enjoy. not to rush to the net saying the games TOO easy on the hardest setting when others say that its impossible to find it too easy reason being I know 8 buddys on xbl saying that "master" is too hard unless you, constantly set it back to easy here and there. so enjoy beating it and claiming its easy :]

There was an easy trick in Oblivion you could use prided you had Azura's star and Hatred's Heart (think that's what it's called, Daedric bow with slow enchantmement)

Shoot to freeze whatever you're fighting, soul trap, kill, recharge bow, repeat...

It removed the challenge from everything but fighting humans.

Did it make the game more fun? hell no...

And claiming a game is easy on the hardest setting on a public forum is pretty much admitting you have a very small...

I've been playing a dedicated mage (I use the handle Therumancer, you might guess my character type of choice) and my opinions so far are mixed... playing on normal. I've gotten killed a few times, but have found it relatively easy to survive using Destruction magic as my primary means of attack... with both hands.

That said the game *IS* a lot easier as they have continued the trend of dumbing it down for casuals, not only are there less skills, but there seem to be no stats as far as Agility, Strength, etc... They also set it up so every character can easily become a polymath due to the way magic is now handled with High Elves getting a magic boost, but all the other races having a normal amount of magicka.

All comments about mods aside, I myself find the core game somewhat lacking in depth and complexity.

Heck, I don't even thing you have a spell maker anymore which is a huge blow to us mage fanatics, or if there is one I don't see anything about it listed.

Wtfff how did you get that ring?

That would be perfect for my character lol.
You make it using Enchantment.

I have gear that lets me cast Master-level spells for 0 Magicka.

Yes. That's right. MASTER-level spells for ZERO Magicka.

I would just like to point out it depends on ur race. I chose a drow for the hell of it. When I hit level 4 I accidentally stumbled upon a dragon. I started running until I realized that he has been blasting me with his breath for a solid minute and I only lost 1/8 of my health... I killed him with an ancient nord bow, 3 minor health potions, 2 minors magicka potions, and about 30-40 iron arrows... I had fur armor and a pair of boots that upped my fire resist by 15%... WTF MAN!

DRAGON < lvl 4 drow mage...

Btw difficulty was on normal

So I've played the game for about ten hours now, finished the Companions questline and most of the main quests. I've been playing on Master difficulty since the start and I can pretty much one shot all common enemies. The only enemies that are challenging are Chauruses because of the poison and dragons since you have to shoot them down.. So anyway, anyone else think Skyrim is too easy even on the hardest difficulty?

If anyone wants to know, I play a level 14 two handed nord, who uses Wuuthrad/Skyforged Greatswords.
Im sorry, but i have REALLY hard to believe u tbh.. U cleared the game in 10hrs, on master aswell? On the other hand i dont really care to look up which the "storyline quests" are bcouse i play the game as i want so i cant really say what quests i have done is storyline or not. But ill tell u this that "named bosses" , not REAL bosses on master will smash ur head to pieces, eat ur soul and mail ur parants to tell what pussie i was in the fight IF im not very carefull..

Im 22 sword'n board + shouts + (with 15hp/sec healing spell) only and oh..my...god some foes rape the shit out of u..Almost all casters will give u a hard fking fight... Dragons are a JOKE in the game.. :( .. I think that Blood Dragons are one of the toughest in the game (correct me if im wrong) and i ended the fight with like 80% hp..

Dont know about caster characters but it seems like they are "op" if u can 1-3shot kill every mob in the game as master..

Have no clue why i wrote this much...back to Skyrim now :)

Really? Really? I have VIDEO evidence - I recorded my let's play and I'm uploading to YouTube - but GUESS what? Your going to accuse me of not having my difficulty on Master. I can't even believe how you can be so ignorant. I'm now level 21 and I can still one shot most bandits easily, ice trolls are all about getting a companion to tank the damage, I've never fought a giant though. Wuuthrad deals 70 base damage, the bandits have less, even with fur armour on. The only person I've died multiple times trying to kill is Malcarath.
