Depends on what you mean by old school 2000AD because Sinister/Dexter was after my time. That said my, favorite strip was Nemesis the warlock and about the last one I read and liked was Devlin Waugh. I always felt it was a shame that Devlin Waugh character never went on to be more than a one off.marcooos said:
Nemesis the warlock is the start point for warhammer 40k, many of the ideas were "borrowed" from there for 40k. I seem to remember that the artists that drew the original look for Blood Bowl for Games Workshop also drew some of the later Nemesis the warlock stories.
So I literally just finished watching Dredd for the first time about half an hour ago. I have not read any of the comics nor had I seen the old Sly Stallone flick.
Just from the new movie, I'm a fan. It's got a cool dystopian feel and the idea of following a cop who functions as all steps in the judicial process makes for compelling entertainment. If the opportunity presented itself, I would most certainly look into the comics now.

I flicked through a comic or two of them when I was a lot younger (pre-teen) but never really paid much attention to it since.
I saw the recent film of it though and thought it was really enjoyable. It managed to avoid a whole load of expected cliches with action films and the style of it was really well done. If they can do a good job of it then I'd like a sequel.

I don't know if I can be called a fan in the traditional sense. I've been aware of the character of Judge Dredd since the first time I heard ANTHRAX scream "I AM THE LAW!". And I bought the CD when it was new if that gives you any hints at my age.
I like the character. I own some of his comics. And I really enjoyed both the Karl Urban movie and even liked the Stallone movie for better or worse. I like Judge Dredd. I'd even say I like the character a lot.
I also like that every year the comic exists is another year in Dredd's life. I think it's a neat dynamic.
All that said though, I've never been a regular reader despite my affinity for Dredd and his world. Strange thing is, I couldn't tell you why. It's just not something I ever made a point to get unless it was a crossover with Batman (Judgement on Gotham was fraggin' awesome).

I didn't even know that Judge Dredd was a comic before I saw the 2012 movie. Now I know a lot about Dredd after falling in love with the movie and character. I'm gonna buy all the case files off of amazon eventually and read up on what I've been missing out on my whole life.
I kept hoping that they would add Dredd to the roster of INJUSTICE: Gods Among Us. I think DC used to publish Dredd in the states or had some relationship with 3000 A.D. at some point. But alas it wasn't meant to be I suppose. Shame really. His alt costumes could have been "Urbanized" which would be the 2012 movie version, and "Sly" which would naturally be the Stallone look.gmaverick019 said:

Dredd was really the only 2000AD stuff I ever read. None of the rest of it interested me very much.

I have a 2000AD Dredd/ABC Warriors (Kev Walker's illustration) minicomic that came with Gunlok, a game which I never was able to play :'D.
Though my admiration for it really is for the Kev Walker factor, doing research on that back in 2005 I was amazed at how much affect british illustrators had on the art of Magic... all lost after the Odyssey set, with a transition to CG and bland international photoshop goons. And now slivers have legs (ﾉಥ益ಥ）ﾉ ┻━┻

I'm pretty sure they did. I think I remember reading a Dredd story where he head to deal with some manner of marital dispute, though I can't recall any details.Odgical said:

I think Dredd is really crying out for a good game based on it. I'm thinking something along the lines of GTA or Sleeping Dogs (or for that matter Crackdown)
In fact basically Crackdown but with more depth, set in MegacityOne and your character doesnt have superpowers, you're just a baddass, with RPG elements (cos every game has them these days)
And it would have coop play with you and your mates playing different types of Judges (say, street judges, tech judges, med judges and psi judges as four classes)
In fact why does this game not exist? It's times like this I really wish I had any actual influence with the video games industry or the skill and time to make it myself via kickstarter.... Alas not though.

Dredd deserves a better game than Injustice. Sad to say I don't think he'll ever get oneZZoMBiE13 said:
