I picked it up this afternoon and I like it alot.. you can really see the difference in writing and how they added alot more RPG elements to the game. I took my time in the starting town and it took me almost 5 hours until I was sent on to the next town to look into the next step of the main quest.. picking this up tomorrow ASAP.
yeah this game is the real deal, i have yet to have any kind of crash and i played it immensely, so its not like i did a basic rundown of it.
the gameplay- much better, i am loving the ironsights in this game compared to fallout 3's gameplay, its much smoother and an upgrade if you have played both more than casually, (vats is still the same, which is fine by me)
story- fucking huge upgrade, fo3's was god awful, thank god for obsidian excelling at stories and extra features (factions part is awesome!)
sound - ehh...i hated the music in the previous fallout so can't say much here.
map- first off, MUCH MORE VARIED AREAS! there are many more hills and different structures around, so its not one big steamrolled pile of shit that fo3 was, and there is actually more stuff to do and happening per square (whatever unit here) than fo3 was for sure.
overall a much much better improved game

I was lucky to get mine. The guy at gamestop had to search around to find me a copy for ps3 and many others were coming in to get it so I got mine just in time. I got it from gamestop since I had lots of store credit and like others have said that pistol is quite beastly. A few bugs here and there but for the most part it runs smoothly for me. The bug that makes creatures fly is back and still funny as ever
Argh this waiting is killing me... I've never been so psyched about a game.
