So, I finally uninstalled LoL from my computer.

Congratulations?

I'm sure it was everyone else's fault you lost.

It's hard for me to delete a game. I don't want to admit that it's no longer fun to me ever, but I had to do that recently with a couple of titles. Usually it's because of the game itself either being bad or becoming boring, haven't had it be a community issue before but I can see how that would have the potential to be a deal breaker.

Didn't you consider getting a fixed team?
My friends did not wanna commit, and too many other things to do to actually bother seeking out a fixed team with aligned schedules.

Yeah, the community is just getting on my nerves a little too much and in ranked I was perpetually trapped in Silver IV and V due to horrid comrades.
And the point being...? Good for you? I say that you take a break instead of completely quitting if you like the game itself.

That's funny, I'm on the verge of downloading LoL because a co-worker keeps bugging me about it. I'm really not that interested in it, but I can at least tell her that I gave it a try.

So the community still isn't very newb-friendly? Good to know. I've been reading up on a few tutorials and have watched TotalBiscuit's "WTF is..." on the game so I'll have at least some idea of what I'm doing.

It's not all that bad as a n00b, but as you play the game and climb the ranks, you find that everyone has a level of frustration to bring to the table (For a good reason or not) and it can either equate to :" making a mistake means you suck and should die." or you find the occasional guy who is just plain awful and does not talk, sometimes you find the stubborn asshole who is being a lead weight to the team due to his build or playstyle and no matter how much you plead with him/her, he/she hears it as you calling them out, which they are none to pleased by. Honestly, you should do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

LoL is the most played game on the internet, surpassing Call of Duty even, and it's free. But consider this, even if the full number of people who play LoL are not just on the N.A server, you have a lot of people. And in my experience, I have found the more you play, the rarer the good fun to play with players become.

So did Penny Arcade, so did I, so did a bunch of people who realise that the MOBA community is completely irredeemable.

Ya I gave up on that as well, it just isn't feasible to keep playing a game that gets so damn depressing, and just to make sure you soak it all in leaving is punished...

I just play Awesomenauts instead because it is so lighthearted and gives all the same thrills.

I just avoid ranked queues, not worth it.

I play normal drafts with my friends, that's it

Yeah... the LoL community really isn't /that/ bad, you get the occassional dick, but he's likely to get suspended as most people will just down vote him at the end of the game now that they've got the honor system. Just ignore them, or troll them, I prefer the latter.

I mean compared to the original DOTA and HoN community, ho ho, the LoL community feels like munchkin town.

captcha: Hello World. Stay back sentient captcha, I know your game. I've got a magnet and I've not afraid to use it.

I also quit LoL for the same reason. I never played ranked and even there no game would pass where someone got flamed. I used to play with a couple of my friends so we had a complete five-man team but as soon as they got into playing ranked they started getting frustrated at me for trying to play the game for fun. The entire "flame everyone who doesn't comply to my exact plan"-thing is highly contagious.

As an "older" gamer in my 30's, League of Legends is like your Pokemon cards to my Magic the Gathering cards. I know of its existence, I know lots of kids are playing it, and everything I hear about it further convinces me that I'm doing the right thing by avoiding it. :)

Now get off my lawn!

My team is committed to playing LoL BUT my internet isn't I can only play one or two games before getting pissed off at my constant lag (Today I had 2000 ms for about 20 minutes, I was MAAAD -.-)
