When I was younger I often got shit for being a metalhead. When I walked alone and passed some gang of kids they'd shout at me, spit after me and being douches.
Then I became almost two meters tall with a rather athletic build, as well as constantly looking pretty bitter.

A little bit of joshing is not a huge issue generally speaking. I know I get it for being short and a chronic masturbator (i.e. somebody who spends any amount of time on the internet, in their room according to my friends). Being ginger is just another one of those things. And then there are the pricks who have no sense of humour at all...

As a natural redhead myself this seems to be something very much ingrained in the culture of Britain, as someone already mentioned. This is naturally abused in school.
So my time in high school was a barrel of larfs as a geeky, skinny, bespectacled redhead.....
I saw a lot of people I knew in school at my old job before I moved South, & most of 'em were still giant douches; As in they had the mental age of a 14-year-old in their mid-20's.
Then there's always that one dickhead that thinks it's OK to bash other redheads because they are, in fact, themselves a redhead. I mean, come on....

Yeah here in Denmark we got a good amount of Red Heads and .. YUM! whenever i see one But ive never experienced that kind of behaviour at all in Denmark.. not even jokes or anything like that.
I reckon this. I've had that happen to me a few times. One time I got fortunate and found the guy about 10 minutes later at a gas station. Him and his buddy were outside having a smoke. Both of them were small slight guys. I'm 6'2 and about 300 pounds and look pretty much like a biker. Needless to say when i saw them I didn't mind having a word with them. when they saw me, one guy ran into the car and took off and left the other behind. I make ginger jokes to my red-headed friends constantly, but I could never imagine actual hatred for a people of different hair color. I always thought that redheads only got discriminated in the elementary playground, not in real life as if they're extremely different from everyone else.

I've been spat at, throw juice at, car splashed, all because... well the guy's in a car and I'm walking, so it's helluva fun thing to do when you're in a car.
And insults? well when I was like 9 years old, my brother pushed me into the pavement, then a car passed near us and the cardriver yelled at me "GET OFF THE GROUND YOU STUPID FUCK!". And my mother was present at the time, she just told us to settle down, both my old brother who was annoying me, and myself who was having a child trauma.
Later, when I was 13 I used to dress with KoRn t-shirts, System of a Down, and because of that I was targeted by other people of my age and older people mostly... well, any north american or brit here can say "Well duh, that same thing happened to me" but allow me to say that, I'm from a south american country, the backlash to any kind of rock n' roll is HIGH. Some people even cosider The Beatles to be satanic music... THE FUCKING BEATLES.
And it hasn't stopped, even though I'm 24 year old man, and dressing with just a pair of old jeans, a plain t-shirt and a flannel shirt on top of that, I still got called a "matricidur" by a cyclist.

I also taken a wood shop class for two years in a row. One day,at the end of class,one guy though it would be a FUN idea to spit in my face for no apparent reason. Everyone saw. I knee'd him in the groin,punched him in the gut,and walked away to wipe the spit off. I got in shit for that incident. I saw the door close,so I ran to the door to keep it open. It closed first,and I heard someone fiddling with the lock. This was the first period of the day,by the way. So,I give the door a mighty leaping boot. It bursts open,and the "eye" for the lock on the door hit the bastard on the upper lip,splitting it. Guess who got in shit for that one,too?
That was all at school. Outside of school,I stayed home. I was,and still am,a gamer. So,no fucked up bullshit outside of school. Just remember,though; if people feel the need to make the lives of others miserable,then their lives are utterly devoid of happiness and meaning otherwise.
