I used to get shit for red hair, but I wasn't ginger, my hair was almost blood red until I was about 14 when it went alot darker for some reason. Goes red in the summer though, I used to get bullied and in fights and stuff alot. Never spat on or anything.

You're comparing the abuse ginger people get to the abuse that black Americans faced. Slavery is a large part of black American history, so if you compare discrimination of red heads to the discrimination of black Americans, you are immediatlely linking the two.

You can't just compare red heads to black Americans and then be surprised when the natural link to slavery is made. Same way you couldn't compare red heads to Native Americans and then be surprised when someone mentions genocide. "Uhhhh... I never did. I have a feeling now that you were using hyperbole and I failed to pick it up. If that's the case, then I'm sorry. If it's not the case, then I think you need to be a bit more specific. Current trends in black American discrimination are only a small part of their discrimination as a whole. So the blanket statement "the new black" contains not just modern discrimination, but the pursuit for emancipation and civil equality.

Now, personally this is just an extreme of what I usually experience, name calling, rude jestures, bullying, whatever; I'm used to that by now. But this, this just got to me. Wow, that's pretty despicable. I haven't had any kind of abuse of that sort, although some guy who passed me in the street the other day did shout 'fucking dork' at me. I wasn't really aware that it was so obvious. I think it's the combination of being tall, slender, and wearing glasses.

I am an Atheist, and an Anarchist(no not those arrogant chaos causers that don't know about anarchy but the "We rule ourselves, regardless of law, our morals will be no different" kind). So i have experienced things like that, although by ninth grade it became a bit of a horrible idea to instigate me if you couldn't follow through. Whenever i am truly upset by them though i remember something, every time these people act "all knowing" or cast judgement, they are cursing themselves to a miserable life, and potentially afterlife. So don't hate the man for his act, but pity him, because chances are they have enough hate and contempt for themselves to fill the entire world. Sometimes they do not even understand what they say. There was one girl who said that my atheist opinion did not matter when i corrected her on something.
