So if you could put 2 games in a blender, what would they be?

Put two discs in a blender? You get a big bowl of sharp dust, you moron.

Just kidding. If I had to pick two, I'd have to go with the difficulty of classic NES games (IE: Castlevania), mixed with something like Silent Hill, a deep story to keep me going.

Closest game I got to this was Cave Story. Satisfyingly difficult, and a story I just couldn't help but love. Even had a "retro" kind of look! But it loses points because Ballos is the most impossibly annoying boss EVER. Seriously, it's not fair. I see people on Youtube breeze through the Sacred Grounds and cream him in under a minute, and I can barely chip at his health with the Super Missile.

EDIT: Oh, and Duke Nukem, with any modern day shooter, minus the crummy-ness of Duke Nukem Forever. I just really wanted a Duke game that was as big and interesting as Duke3D

Dam thats a lot of awsome suggestions, even the above post that says to put 2 actual disks in a blender, i want to see that as well!!

I think id also like to combine Freespace 2 (one of the best game ever) with something like eve online. Have the freespace universe with the fast fun combat but the MASSIVE size of eve to explore the vast black void of space along with the captial ships from both games.

Nothing extreme.
Thief + Skyrim
Deus Ex:HR + Deus Ex
Dead Space + System Shock 2
etc. etc.

I think that there's really no point in inventing wheel for second time - everything what's important in video games has been already invented. We can only make it better looking, better running, bigger, faster and such.

MechWarrior and Mass Effect.

Traveling the Inner Sphere and Clan Space wreaking fools while making decisions that change missions, story, and upgrades/avaliable units.

Oh! I got another couple! Mix Chrono Trigger with Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

Chrono Trigger is still one of my all-time favourite games (easilly beat it, like, ten times when I was younger), and Mario And Luigi takes the runner-up in that regard. Chrono Trigger had an immense, deep story, and speedier turn-based combat that didn't turn into a snooze fest (IE: Final Fantasy 7), or wasn't so complicated and required grinding to get the good moves (IE: Final Fantasy 5). Mario and Luigi did the same thing, having the moves the Mario Bros. use feature a rarely good use of Quick Time Events, keeping the player involved in every battle.

So to sum it up, the general awesomeness of Chrono Trigger, mixed with the fun combat of Mario And Luigi (and maybe it's strange sense of humor as well)

KOTOR and Skyrim. KOTOR for the character development and awesomeness, Skyrim for the huge, massive, epic world and awesomeness.

Minecraft and CoD. Because being able to build your own fortresses and defenses would be kinda awesome in a FPS.

Let's see here... Amnesia and just about anything, because I think having Amnesia's ability to be goddamned scary as shit in pretty much any other game would be quite the experience.

Homeworld and Sins of a Solar Empire. Mainly because I just want another good space RTS, and Homeworld is the best RTS of all time.

I can attest to this one. Ever played Garry's Mod with the Minecraft SWEP? Loads of fun. It makes Ravenholm in Half-Life 2 a lot more entertaining when I can trap a fast zombie in a diamond box.

When my sister was enjoying The Sims for its customizability and I was enjoying Neverwinter Nights for its customizability, I always imagined what a hybrid between the two would be.

Years later, The Sims: Medieval came out and I abandoned the idea completely. Take two things you like and combine them, and you're just as likely to get the worst elements of both.

The OP mentions Skyrim and Dungeon Defenders. Decent games alone, but combine them and you're likely to get a Massively Single Player Offline Tower Defense Game.

I'd throw saints row and resident evil in there, just to see what happens.
Saints Row 3? :p

OT: The Elder Scrolls (taking everything from it but the setting and the combat mechanics) + Jedi Knight (taking the Star Wars setting and the combat mechanics)

Elder Scrolls and Final Fantasy.

It'd be fascinating to see the most successful jRPG and most successful wRPG franchises fuse worlds into one game. Hopefully, taking the best of both worlds.

The ability to chose between Final Fantasy races, all of the choices does with Square styled use of CG and facial designs, and a gigantic free roam world where you can interact with everything, but also really long and engrossing optional main plot and side quests. And a full party with lots and lots of character interaction between party members, established personalities, and character development.

Most specifically I'd like to fuse the world of Ivalice of Final Fantasy Tactics, the character interaction of Final Fantasy IX, and the roaming and doing of Oblivion.

Furthermore, I think that wRPGs need more jRPG style combat. wRPGs in general are far too hack and slash. The battle system of Oblivion was just awful. I also think that Square would polish up some of the NPC interaction Bethesda has still not quite got all the kinks out of. As well, I think that Bethesda would do great at fixing Square's continued failing at moving from an overworld map.

Final Fantasy X, the first time they tried it, wasn't too bad. But it still left much to be desired. But it's generally been going downhill since after Final Fantasy XI. Giving Final Fantasy a gigantic Elder Scrolls style area to explore would do wonders.

Devil May Cry 4 and any Metroidvania. Combine the amazing combat of Devil May Cry with the massive open worlds and focus on exploration of Metroidvania... YES.

Bioshock and Assassin's Creed 2 would be an interesting mix. I have no idea what it would be...but it would be amazing.

It'd be all about Skyrim and Dragon Age: Origins. Think about it. The world, freedom, and play of Skyrim mixed with the story, choices, and a handful more of characterized folks from Dragon Age. It'd be like a RPG fan fiesta. No one would ever think the same of the genre again.

Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Lands and Icewind Dale.

If I could have this, I would take back every bad thing I've ever said about high-fantasy hack and slash games.

Moving stories, interesting settings, an encyclopedia of monsters to battle and actual strategy in combat... I would never walk away from my PC/console ever again.
