I know plenty of people who had to leave school in the 8th grade because they got pregnant.

It may be a little late, but it's still under legal age here.
I don't care about casual sex or intimate sex. It's all ultimately meaningless. Besides, that would require me to care about others.

it's still fun with people you don't know so well unless they start with weird stuff you're not comfy with.

18, virgin, for three reasons.

1. I scare girls.
2. Religious beliefs.
3. Personal view on sex, and how every "sex-em-up" slut is incredibly annoying and antagonistic.

I'm waiting for a ring, here.

I wouldn't do casual sex, but that doesn't mean I have a problem with other people having it. I don't like it because I would rather not have any STDs if I can help it. Well, and because I'm kind of committed to my girlfriend at the moment, and cheating is obviously not an option :p

Ah late nights on the escapist. Gota love it.

I'm not an advocate of the whole no sex before marriage thing. That idea was born of a time when having a kid before you've tied the man down could literally leave you in the gutter if you were landed with a kid and no stable income in time when women didn't really work real jobs. It is outmoded in the modern era which is more than capable of producing childless sex.

Having said that neither am I really an advocate of taking home a new conquest every night.

Ikd, it just feels like it should be more personal than that : / What do I know. Im a hopeless romantic I suspect :p

To put it simply my feelings in general are:
Casual sex: perfectly fine assuming intentions are clear, but not what I am interested in.
Open relationships: same
Waiting for love: perfectly reasonable
waiting for marriage: unrealistic, but I support the idea
Not love, but a committed relation: I guess this is "normal"

Excessive casual sex to the point of whoredom: I won't preach (unless I'm close with the person but even then prolly not), but I do not agree with it in the slightest.

I wouldn't say it's despicable, but I would have trouble respecting someone who just doesn't seem to value a more-than-physical connection between another person to any degree. But that's me.

Also, at 16 it is quite possible and likely that your feelings on the subject will change. In what way depends on you.

Casual sex is just a bad idea. It's a lot of trouble/money for a few seconds' pleasure that can be gotten easily on one's own, and leaves one wide open to all manner of emotional pain, not to mention disease.
It's funny. I'm old enough now to recognize the fact that the young can't wait to grow up and do all those cool adult things, and the old just want to be young again so they can enjoy it and not have to worry about all these "cool" adult things.

I've got no problem with it in concept, casual, romantic, or excessive. I can make a casual remark or joke or explain something simply with no problems. But I do have a line that I've drawn.

I can't talk about it seriously with anonymous people or even friends of either gender without getting slightly uncomfortable. I don't know what it is. Craig Ferguson says that it's because Scottish people don't work well around sex, and I have Scottish ancestry, so who knows? I have a friend who at one point had two girlfriends and a "sex slave" at the same time, and he loved every minute of it. I do have a friend who is a bit different though. She can't even say the word "penis" or "vagina" without?well?she just never says them. Ever. I would call that the true definition of a "prude". That's when things get funny.

But really, I've never had sex, or even been in a relationship (sad, at age 18, but that's how history's played out I guess) but I still don't care that much. To each their own, I say. Now, if a person's personality or life decisions are impacted by their sexual activity, then we've got a problem.

Intimacy is often lost or wasted when you have sex with a lot of partners. Especially if they were all in a short time span.

Or more specifically, your feelings towards casual sex and romantic sex.

Just something I'm curious to find out, how does the Escapist feel about open relationships, casual sex or people who sleep around a lot?

This is something I've been wondering about for some time now but never really got around to asking it. I was talking with a certain user here who shall not be named, who is in full support for casual sex and open relationships. Now, I think I've made my stance on the subject clear by now, but for those of you who don't know, I am the type of person who wants to wait for someone I love until I have sex so needless to say, I don't agree in the least with those types of people who go round having sex with as many people as possible.

Note that I'm in no way saying my way of thinking is better, it just works best for me. I personally don't see the point in going around fucking everyone you possibly can when you have your hands to give you the same satisfaction. For example, I know a girl who is 19 and has had sex with 29 men. And she lost her virginity at 17.

Now I may be a prude or I may be close minded with an old fashioned way of thinking but am I the only one who is bothered when you hear about people like this?

And she's not the worst I know. Some are in the triple digits and they're not even 30. Some friends I know have friends at that age (19) who are in the hundreds. Personally, I don't see the point of that. Thinking about things like that makes me very uncomfortable and I know that's just me but I can't be the only one.

I'm all for sexual freedom, but when it gets to that point, it becomes a little much.

So, Escapist, what do you think about all this?

For those of you wondering, I am 16, a virgin and an atheist, so my opinions on sex are not affected by religious influence.
Truth be told I'd rather have sex with a person I don't now who I find attractive rather than someone I do and actually like because it seems to just complicate shit. Not to mention you have to be intimate with the person which I have an issue with.

As for having sex casually, I have an image of a tramp come to mind when I think of a girl doing it, but that's really not the case so I don't think there's a problem with it in reality. If girls or guys want to have sex with whoever whenever than great. Personally I prefer girls in relationships who hold your view more, but then I suppose drawing the line between sex and 'making love' (excuse the cheesiness of it) could work just as well too.

There were two people in my high school who got into one of those situations. They both dropped out the year the baby was born, he got a teenage job full-time (as far as I know) and she was a full time mom. She never came back, but he returned to school a year later, and tried to finish getting his diploma.

I love idiots. They provide so much amusement for the rest of us.
