So Top 5 > Extra Credits?

Should've kept "boobs > brains" in the thread title. No, seriously, that glove was a perfect fit, but personally, I would add a few adjectives to both of them, seeing as how I have a small problem with Extra Credits too.

Really, maybe some people don't like Extra Credits being objectively right about everything and/or establishing the obvious as true. Then again, I don't understand the support for Top 5. At all.

I just noticed today that the Top 5 has supplanted Extra Credits as the second highlighted show on The Escapist's sidebar. Am I right in assuming that the Top 5 with Lisa whatsherface gets better views than Extra Credits?

I thought those of the Escapist were more sophistocated, viewing only the ponciest reviews and attempts to advance gaming to higher standards.

But unfortunately, mediocre looks, with focus on the breasts, and some boring opinions do better.

Did "The Big Picture" drop a few slots too? I wonder if that's because it's all comics now, or if it's all comics now because he went a bit too far and pissed some people at the Escapist off.

Honestly, as a nerd chick I scoffed at the new hot chick on the block getting the views--what I didn't expect is that she's ACTUALLY legit funny.

Lets face it. Top 5's views aren't JUST initial first views.
It's (initial views) + (2x + Boobs) N = The wank effect. You know. Re-watching for specific reasons. 8 times in one night.

I like them both for different reasons. I like Top 5 COS LISA IS HOT HURR HURR because it's light-hearted and funny, whereas I like Extra Credits because it's clever and makes me think.

Although I am still a little bit cynical in the belief that she actually is a nerd chick.

Unfortunately, that is the mindset of like 90% of the gaming industry. I bet the only reason that witcher 2 sold so well is that there are tits on the screen for a moment. And don't get me started on dead or alive volleyball. Personally, I don't get it. Most gamers have a connection to the internet and by extension an infinity of softcore pornography, so why they think they still need to put them in is beyond me, especially since they will never compete with the internet in terms of boobs per screen or whatever. So I guess they just think we're complete morons and therefore boobs are indeed a replacement for intelligence and plot.

Because clearly, a woman can never do a video on the internet without obviously looking to pander to sexually prone young men (or lesbian women) that happen across said video. Clearly if they intended otherwise, they'd just casually detach their breasts so that hump on their chests is gone for when they turn on the camera..

..And if the sarcasm wasn't missed there, I will be pleased.

OT: Personally, I agree. Partly because I find Top 5 to be more entertaining and laid-back, and partly because I find Extra Credits to be as pretentious and pandering to the "artsy elitists" as fuckin' eh..

What I want to know is why this keeps happening, think about it guy. Lisa has not had a new vid in quite a while, to be honest im worried something may have happened (if someone actually knows, please tell). While Extra Credits is being held up as an example on forums and image boards all over the web. Just lay off the hate, I like top 5's because I like hearing people talk about things they like while I like Extra Credits because they actually know what their talking about.

As an avid fan of both, sometimes you just need some light entertainment instead of constant information, a la Extra Credits. Also, I think this might belong in Off-Topic a bit more than gaming.

that has puzzled me as well, that show isn't very funny or interesting, but it is something to watch
but Extra Credits is actually pretty interesting, that is one of the few things (ZP included) that I actually tune into weekly

First of all, quote me if you are responding to me. Much easier.

Second of all, Dead or Alive Volleyball is hardly 90% of the typical gamer mentality when concerning character models, nor is it really that good. Also, The Witcher 2 sold due to it's deep RPG mechanics and beautiful open world graphics. Yes, it had uncensored nude scene's here and there, but the developer is also not a North American company and the culture they live in does not have the same irrational, prudish disgust in human sexuality and nudity that North Americans seem to foster more than most. Anyone whom had played the first Witcher, or even knew about the series knew what kind of content it had in it already and were hardly surprised by the announcement of uncensored nudity that fit the narrative of the game.

As well, you posted this in a thread of Top 5 and Extra Credits where you presumptuously insinuated that 90% of those whom watch Top 5 over Extra Credits were only in it because it was a female-led video series and we only wanted to see TnA. While a minority might watch it for only that reason, the majority I am fairly certain actually just like the humor and concepts of the series overall. Myself included.

I occasionally watch Top 5, but I never watch Extra Credits because I don't like to watch what I could be just reading. I usually hear it when my friend puts it on in the background.
