1. The Old Republic
2. Ultimate MvC3
3. Modern Warfare 3

I also played The Witcher 2, couldn't finish it. Too clunky, too boring. Not my style of RPG.

1. Skyrim
2. I don't have any other games. Saints Row 3 was fun, but not good enough to win awards. I look forward to yahtzee making references to an attractive girlfriend letting herself go and/or cheating on you. I cant think of any other games that came out this year that were good and that i also played.
3. Duke Nukem Forever, for delivering the exact game I wanted out it

1) Bastion
2) Saints Row: the Third
3) Arkham City

Not in that order or any order, they are all so different they can't be compared really.

1.) BF 3. Single handedly saved the FPS genre for me.
2.) Skyrim. I only switch it out for BF 3.
3.) I guess I'll put Gears here. Just because I wanted to see how they ended the story and was impressed with it...not particularly fun though.

Skyrim
Portal 2

MW3 was the only other game I bought this year, but it won't receive any awards from me

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (that entire world sings to me, it's a future I want to help work towards, etc, so that's why it sits top of my list!)
Batman: Arkham City
Skyrim

In that particular order, I'd say. There have been many others I loved, but right now, at this moment, that list feels right.

1.) Skyrim

2.) Portal 2

3.) Human Revolution

Which is the best top three I've had in one year in quite some time. All three are totally must-owns. And I haven't even played The Witcher 2, Uncharted 3, or Batman yet!
This is practically identical to the post I was going to make, so uh thanks for making this easier for me.

1) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
2) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
3) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skyrim has captivated me more than every other game this year combined.

I play very few new games anymore cause most of them suck, so I've gotta try hard and remember what actually came out this year that I gave a damn about...

Portal 2
Saints Row the Third
Skyward Sword

Now, despite the fact that I haven't actually played Skyward Sword yet, it is really the only thing I can include because this is pretty much all of the new games I played (or will play) from this year.

Personally, I found Portal 2 highly enjoyable and actually spent a lot of time playing it, even playing through it several times (co-op, too). SR3, though it does feel a bit smaller than SR2, still feels as though it was worth getting and I've spent well over 50 hours on it already and haven't finished the main storyline yet; that's not taking into account a second play through as a female character to make the alternate choices, either.

I'm sure some might wonder why Skyward Sword and not Skyrim, and the reason is that I refuse to play a game like Skyrim on a console. It doesn't look as nice, it is a lot harder to patch, and the mod support will be pretty much nonexistent on a console. However, I do not have a computer that can play Skyrim (or Portal 2 or anything else made this year) yet. Once I do, I plan on getting it toot sweet.

Also, I actually think SS will be pretty decent. I actually enjoyed most of Twilight Princess, and while I thought the DS Zelda games were absolute shit (for different reasons), I typically enjoy the console Zeldas and am looking forwards to getting it in the next couple weeks.

EDIT: Just remembered that while I didn't play some of the other games like Dead Island and Sonic Generations, I DID watch my cousin play them and wasn't very impressed.
