Alas they did not make the dialogue skippable so I shall not be doing a third playthrough of Okami, as wonderful as it is.

If that HD remake ever comes to Wii (which I doubt) then I'll get it instantly, Okami is one of my favorite games after all.
I might just have to break down and get it for PS3 though, even though I am borrowing my bro's PS3 right now (to play Valkyria Chronicles :p)

I'm sure you guys are sick and tired over how much I gush over this game, so I'll keep the praise to a minimum :D

Okami HD was released a few days ago on PSN and hopefully, many of you downloaded the game.

For any of you who are unsure just how much if an improvement the 'HD' version of the game is, let me put your fears to rest. The game looks absolutely gorgeous. I mean, it looked bloody great before, but with a lick of HD paint it looks even more amazing.

The game has aged beautifully and now has the added benefit of trophies, for those of you who are into that sort of thing.

Anyway, what I really started this thread for, was to see how much of the Escapist community picked this game up.

If you did, have you played the game before? Is this your first time playing Okami? What do you think of it?
How big is it, you know like how many GB do I have to download?

I'd get it but I don't have an HDTV so it would be pointless. So until I do eventually get one I'll just have to play the origonal. Okami's one of my fave games too.

Well I brought Okami HD and I have Okami for ps2. I can safely say it looks better then on the ps3 without breaking the games style.

Haven't downloaded it, myself. Between having a bit of a vendetta against Capcom and not liking Okami quite that much, it just won't happen.

Still, it was a very well made game. I definitely see why there is so much love for it, because the game does seriously deserve it. If the remaster is legitimately good, and I mean this sincerely, I'm happy for you.

I can't see spending the money on a reskin of a game that was only so-so in the first place. Sorry. Assasin's Creed III, Dishonored, Torchlight 2... all of which are far superior in gameplay and environment. Can't do it.

Okami, I still remember my first experience with the game. It was years after it came out, I had completely ignored the game for that long because you play as a wolf and I do not like wolves.

Eventually I was at gamestop looking for something new to play and the only game that stood out was Okami. I recalled never hearing anything bad about the game and decided to give it a try finally. My very first reaction, not joking either was: "I like this game." For me, that's high praise so it was a big deal for me to react in such a way.

It's one of my favorite games on the PS2 now and I still have my copy. I've played through the game twice and plan to do it again. Though I have issues with being able to play any consoles due to my living arrangements (or lack thereof, I have no place to go).

As such, I am not buying Okami HD because I do not have a PS3, nor the ability to play it currently even if I did. At least I have played it though, right?

I haven't downloaded it but I will eventually when I feel like playing okami again. No rush, its not like its going anywhere. But yeah Okami is seriously underplayed. I wouldn't say underrated because everyone I know who's played it has loved it, I just dont know many people who have played it.

Can someone convince me to buy it? I keep hearing it's great but have no idea why.

I really loved Okami back when I had it on the Wii, it looked gorgeous, it played fantastically, I was really interested in it and wanted to play it. I had to trade it in for a bit of extra cash to help my parents out. I do own a PS3 and I will pick up the HD copy eventually, I will ask for it for christmas :D

I will, but right now I have Assassins Creed 3 (Only about 15% in), Xcom (Probably around 60% in) and The Walking Dead (done 2/4 released episodes).

Once I have completed those, or most of them then it will be my next buy. I need to get Journey at some point too, so I will probably add enough money onto my PS3 to get them two.

Are you an Okami fan? You hardly ever mention it.

My PS3 is currently dead. I've planned on getting, it, though.

I don't have a PS3, so does it count if I try to get my hands on an PS2 copy in the foreseeable future? I'm actually quite curious about it.

I have the original PS2 version and the Wii version. The screenshots I've seen look... about the same as the PS2 version. I don't see much point in buying a download only version of it. If a disc-based one was available or if they put it on the Vita, I might pick it up... until then... meh. I can use $20 elsewhere. Seems more like Capcom milking the dead horse that is Clover studios... kinda sickening.

I played it on the PS2 and would love to revisit it in HD,sadly I don't have a PS3 anymore. It would be awesome if they released it on PC.I think the controls would translate very well to the KB/Mouse.You know because of the Celestial Brush mechanic, could be very intuitive with the mouse.

Well seeing how you love this game so much, once summer starts im going back to my ps2, and I shall buy Okami. If I can find a place that sells it at least. I had to go to some obscure game store I had never heard of in a city 20 min. away to find beyond good and evil.
