So, would you have done the same?

Just caught a spider this minute. He's in the garden now, Huge beastie! I never kill bugs. They're living things like everything else ^^

I don't like to kill anything if I can possibly avoid it, so I usually remove or just ignore insects and spiders.

The one exception to this is wasps. If I can't get them out of the house I'll kill them since I'm afraid of being stung.

I usually don't kill them but if they're just too quick for me to catch them and manage to escape my grasp, then I sometimes end up killing them because I try to be quicker but also more awkward.
It doesn't really bother me that much if I kill them but if I can avoid it, then I try to.

Hells no, hobo spiders get instant squishing from me, as do yellow sac spiders.

Were it a garden spider, I would have done the same, though. I love those little guys.

Well this is what happens when i see a spider... and i mean any spider:
Jump up alert
Look around for something to squish it
make sure I know where it is AT ALL TIMES! until...
It meets its inevitable doom!

Yeah I got an irational fear of spiders!

I like spiders. I remove them from places they shouldn't be, like the bath, the oven, the toilet and so on. Generally, if I'm removing an orb-spinner, I move it to my bit of the garden where it can adversely affect the greenfly.

I'm in Britain, though, where spiders are harmless and the most (and only) venomous snake goes as far as:
severe pain at the location of the bite
swelling, redness and bruising at the location of the bite
nausea (feeling sick)
vomiting
diarrhoea
itchy lumps on the skin (hives or nettle rash)
swelling of the lips, tongue and gums
breathing difficulties with wheezing, similar to asthma
mental confusion, dizziness or fainting
irregular heartbeat
I think brown recluses would cause me to change my casually friendly attitude and bare-handed rescue habit.

In very vaguely related news, I've safely ejected two wasps this weekend and now there's a wasp going around the lights. I may have a wasp problem here. Wasps are great little clean-up girls until around this time of year, when they tend to get drunk and aggressive for some reason, and this isn't where they should be.

Maybe I need to ... erm ... rip out the entire kitchen and reseal the walls there. I'm pretty sure I shut the bathroom walls' various holes pretty well. Maybe they're coming in through a vent brick.

Uuuuh, I love Spiders...

I never kill them, they help me keep the other more bothersome flying insect population at bay.

I have an open borders agreement with them.
Every Spider, no matter how big or small can come and feel free to stay in my territory!

If this rebirth Vodoohinduismthing really works I want to be a spider next time, or as a second choicce maybe Stalin.

Do you remember Neverwinter Nights 2 where you could befriend a huge Spider? Oooh, those where the days...

I've done that with mice, birds, a hawk, and a badger. I have terrible arachniphobia so I'll yell for someone else to kill it. Funnily enough I just had a terrible spider dream last night.

I allways let insects and spiders leave the house instead of killing them. Do I realy have to destroy another living animal just because I'm lazy?

Except for musquito's, because fuck them, they are our worst enemy, and we should kill them all on sight.

No I wouldn't since I have a fear of spiders (Arachnophobia). Depending on the spider size (no I will not look like that Hobo spider) if it's small I kill it but if it's big I leave it alone or ask my family or friend to kill it.

Since they seem to be little spiders from what Google Images suggests, I would have left it alone. If it was a big, hairy spider I would have.

... Holy. Fucking. Shit. If I had been you right there, I would have got shell-shocked. I could just imagine the doctors telling my parents over the phone, "I'm sorry, but he has post traumatic stress disorder. He can barely talk, he doesn't respond to us ... Hm, what? Oh no, he was fine with the IEDs, the shooting, the desert and the constant danger of getting killed. It was the local spiders that did him in ..." XD

Shit, I probably would have killed it from a distance. I can't even handle the thought of one of them touching me at all.

If it looks like it's in danger of being stood on or anything, I'll rescue it. Same if it's just chilling in my room; it's got to the point that I actually keep a glass in my room specifically for removing insects and spiders. I won't squish them intentionally, but if they're physically on me I'll shake them off in a panic, and that's when they're most likely to end up liquidised.

As I live in Britain, where there's nothing venomous or aggressive enough to be a threat, all spiders are to be regarded as Bro's. They catch flies and stop them barfing on your food and that.

Though I do get a bit pissy at the one that's making webs on my apartment block's communal washing lines. Stuff keeps getting in my hair, but there's no bugs hang round there anyway. Retard-spider, pretty much. Caught it trying to make a web ON one of my shirts as I was hanging it out. Grabbed it and carried it over to the trees where there's TONS of less desirable flying mofo's, including a huge swarm of wasps. I have a feeling it'll be back, however :-/

Now if it was Australia, or anywhere else you're likely to get hobo-type spiders, i'd be a bit more wary. All the same, you can usually avoid trouble if you're careful about it. Drinking glass and a piece of paper, for example, or one of those cheap plastic bug-trappers on a stick. Sneak up, trap it, dump it out a window, job done. It can continue the good work somewhere where it's a little less likely to get confused and start bitin' folk.

I tend to kill any damn insect, arachnid or pretty much anything smaller than an inch without hesitation if I come across them. Damn critters >.<

Small ones, no. They're adorable when they scuttle around on the wall.

We got some really big ones crawling around in our house and they get smashed instantly. I would freak out if i woke up to one of them crawling on my face. They can also bite if you try to hold them and my lil brother is terrified by them.

I even scoured the garage with a high-pressure hose because i don't want the little bastards to breed in there.

I tend to throw them outside, I had a big bastard of a spider in the house yesterday, I hate spiders, they absolutely creep me out, but since they're not vermin, or pests, I tend to let them free. I have 2 lady housemates, and both of them wanted me to squash it, but were too scared to do it themselves, so I caught it on a piece of paper, and lobbed it outside.

It depends on what type.If I feel that it's dangerous and it's inside my house it's going against the bottom of my shoe.
