Hey thanks for that, this will come useful for me when I have to soundscape later on in the year. Have you tried NVG's are they as cool they are made out to be?.Slycne said:Hardware Geek come to burst everyone's bubble Night Visions Goggles don't make any noise when they power up or when they are running. "It puts the lotion on it's skin"
I did actually get the train with a pair during Infantry School, and yes they are cool as hell. It was completely pitch black-can't see your hand in front of your face-dark, but pop those on and it might as well be day light with a green filter.Sovvolf said:Hey thanks for that, this will come useful for me when I have to soundscape later on in the year. Another thing you don't see the movies, you loose all your depth perception while wearing them because you are looking at a flat image. After enough time you can start to compensate for it, but we were definitely tripping all over things for awhile.
Thank you, Captain Killjoy.Slycne said:Hardware Geek come to burst everyone's bubble Night Visions Goggles don't make any noise when they power up or when they are running. It's The Coconut Effect [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheCoconutEffect].

Hows this?
Besides the cheap 'mspaint worthy' photoshoop.
They don't make that noise at all, well, I've used military-grade night vision goggles and they're silent. I always found that noise to be annoying in games anyway as there's no need for all the goggles to make that slight whirring sound.orannis62 said:Ever played Splinter Cell? Know that high pitched whine when you turn the goggles on?Amnestic said:What noise - exactly - do night vision goggles make?night-vision noises.
Watch a trailer for Splinter Cell. Probably THAT noise.Amnestic said:What noise - exactly - do night vision goggles make?night-vision noises.
Ahahaha, nice image there mate!Fanboy said:A thread with sillyness and photoshop? These are two of my favourite things!
Also, I'm pretty sure nightvision goggles make a Vwwwiiiiiiiiip sound when you turn them on, or so splinter cell has taught me. If this is not the case, my world may come crashing down around me...
You're welcome, although you might be singing a different tune come Monday. Tvtropes is rather infamous for making weekends disappear.Sovvolf said:Ha... sounds fun... and another Movie tip there... thank you and thank your for the website... alot of interesting information there... as a young student in the media department (looking to go up into Directing) this information any information is important and useful.
