I'm sorta surprised you opened that box.

The last time you reported the delivery of a mysterious package it turned out to be a rickroll in disguise [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/95781-EA-Rickrolls-Yahtzee]

Also, I'm not sure if it's related at all, but the website www.gknova.com contains a short video promising the solution to any problems coming soon.

/end idle speculation

Our crack team of decrypters have found the following:

The string IGN found in the MP3 file [http://ps3.ign.com/articles/108/1081856p1.html] is just the comment field.

00000000 00000210 00000825 000000000037474B 00000000 0016FDA0
00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000TCON

Translates to - "iTunes 9.0.3.15COMM." So, we think it was made on a Mac, but that's all it means.

A spectrograph of the MP3 revealed an interesting pattern:

It might mean nothing, or it could mean EVERYTHING.

Image analysis of photos from the interpipes, and a magnifying glass applied to our own envelope lead us to speculate the origin of the packages to be a PO BOX in Capitol Heights, MD - which is kind of in the southern part of MD (fitting other reports.)

Could it be Episode 3? No probably not since the world is still functioning and hell hasn't froze over. I'll guess something Fallout related or because it was sent to Call of Duty fans another CoD game.

Consider this as a marketing ploy, its designed to get people interested in their product. To achieve this aim, they have designed a riddle. A puzzle, a code to be broken. Would they really target the call of duty demographic with this? No offense to CoD players but its not the most intellectually challenging game.

My money is on singularity. It has time travel, it has puzzles that remind me of Portal or perhaps more accurately Braid.

A puzzle designed to get people interested in a puzzle game, no?

plus the chemical references, plus the time period kennedy stuff, plus R-A-I-S in morse code.

Singularity looks pretty cool.

You need look no further than our obsession with Professor Layton to know that we here at The Escapist love a good puzzle, so we were delightfully intrigued by the parcel with no return address that showed up this morning. It wasn't ticking, so clearly it hadn't come from one of you. We figured it was therefore safe to open and discovered that it contained a single item: a USB drive with a text file and an MP3.
If it were from one of us it might have been a pony. But I suppose we'll just have to keep all the poines for ourselves now, won't we?
Preeeeeetty sure a pony wouldn't have come in a package this small. Neither would cookies.

Not that you've sent me any, mind.

Would you eat cookies if I made some for you? I feel like it's a good way to pay you guys back my gratitude. (Almost as good as my dashing good looks and rapier wit.)

But, I mean, if you want to send cookies, on top of that, I'm not gonna complain.

Wait, if it says "Hell is Purple", isn't purple a color occasionally associated with the Viet Cong? CoD: Vietnam? I could be wildly off the mark here, so feel free to correct me.

My money is on the Hydrophobia game. That already has a huge internet mystery surrounding it and I believe about now is the time when a little bit more was supposed to be revealed.

It actually points to Purple Hell, a website that helps you figure out the Bacon Cipher.

I'm gunning for a Singularity announcement. I've been dying to hear more about this title, and the Kennedy imaging seems to fit the revealed details. The signs point to an Activision game, but the key bits don't point to CoD:Vietnam, or whatever it's called.

Uhm, idk if anyone has guessed this yet, but since it could possibly be call of duty, it seemed more like a Nazi Zombie thing to me. Nazi Zombies the video game!?!?

Totally! I'd need a mailing address and a headcount though. :D

OK, so I listened to the website TV and I realized that the mysterious voice is repeating the same letters over and over again: N-O-V-A-S-I-X or Nova 6. People have probably already figured this out, but what the heck. It's all I've got. Well, not quite. Right before the audio started to loop again, I heard a man's voice say something else. I might have misheard, there was a lot of static over it, but I thought it said, "Hell is purple."

I'm not sure whether I should be creeped out, or just laughing my ass off.

Oh yeah, and I realize that the phrase "nova 6" in the web site's url. Still.

EDIT: Yep, definitely "Hell is purple". I listened to again, but this time, I turned up the volume and cupped my hands over my earphones. I do not recommend this technique. It is really fucking creepy.

Personally, I'm hoping for a completely new series, although I wouldn't mind some new info on Singularity, either.
If you search "hell is purple" on google, the first site that pops up is this:

www.purplehell.com

Purple Hell Home Page, Your one-stop-shop for riddles tools and resources.

It made me laugh.

Anyways, from all the things I've seen until now, Singularity makes the most sense. I'm eager to see how this plays out.

Alright, I was mistaken. I now stand corrected.
