I hate how the fiction of the Halo universe is so selfish. Every time they write about something cool, they kill off every single damned one of them, or leave what's left on some uncharted planet. Halo freakin' Lagends killed three SPARTANS, and according to the fiction, that's all that EVER died, except for on Reach. I give props to Bungie for screwing up the story, because they at least did some cool stuff with it.

Being a fan of the Avengers (especially Captain America) absolutely ruined The Ultimates for me. It's like they took all of the Avengers and put them through a Jackass Machine.
Yeah. Some of them were okay, but they got a lot of them all wrong, particularly Captain America. Cap's supposed to be a nice guy, not an asshole: in fact, it's part of his charm. The ultimate version is just a bigoted jerk. Even if they are separate universes, it really misses the point of who Captain America is.

You know as a game, I didn't care for Halo, as a universe I love it. However, now that Bungie is not doing it anymore, I can only guess it's downhill from here.

A.) The new guys won't be as good.
B.) They will be as good, but fans won't admit it.
C.) It will have so much fan-service it should be outlawed, and that will ruin it.
D.) They'll actually be better.

That's a twenty-five-percent chance. Not great odds.

I agree, except I really like the Halo games. Once you get good, the multiplayer is great, the same for the single player. You just need to think more about it than most games.

Mass Effect 2 (especially its DLC).

All the times my conversation options were limited to "being an asshole" despite choosing the Paragon path. And don't even get me started on the instances Shepard would say something completely out of character without at least giving me a chance to choose a dialog option.
While we are on that, the retcon of the way guns work. Ammo clips aren't progress, it was regressing. And why were some squad mates not wearing armor? Especially in environments exposed to Space.
For once, I agree. I always found it weird that all Miranda and Samara need were simple face-masks and they could survive damn near anywhere, even in a robot-infested space station with absolutely no air or gravity.

And the ammo clip thing was stupid, especially considering how the codex tried to justify it. Grabbing your armaments after waking up at Lazarus Station only exacerbates that, since your weapon "doesn't have a thermal clip". The little random tips that show up during loading screens further exacerbates that fact, saying "if you run out of clips, you can't fire".

So... according to the codex, I still have infinite ammo, but since I ran out of clips I can't fire at all?! It'd make more sense just to have an extended cool-down period similar to the first game if you run out of clips, then that way if and when you find some you can expedite the cool-down process by instantly dispelling the excess heat. Instead, you have a finite amount of shots "before your weapon overheats", disabling your weapon until you essentially reload.

Thank the gods for save editing programs. Infinite shots with the Widow = love in a retrofitted, 100-pound, arm-shattering cannon. :D

The remade Clash of the Titans. Big fan of the original version, so when I saw the one with Sam Worthington in it, I just found it to be garbage. Yeah sure, better effects (and Sam Worthington as eye candy) but other than that, I did NOT like it.

Blame game-testing for this. Apparently they did have a mechanic where you could use the clips and the cool-down method (which makes better sense) but the focus group probably never even played a video game ever.

Yet another reason why people dubbed it "Gears of Mass Effect". Hell, all it needed was active reloading and NG2-inspired melee kills and there'd be little to tell the two apart.

That's not exactly fair. It's just kind of like the rechargeable health v. health pack method. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. I found on the harder difficulties of ME2 that the tactical aspects and RPG elements shown through best.

I'll take a minor retcon to drastically improve gameplay any day. The fucking overheating system was a pain in the arse. I'm pretty sure they reload faster than the guns cool down anyway, so its not entirely illogical.

Dream Theater, pretty much anything after Awake, excluding Scenes: Part 2 of course.

Seriously guys, if you can't have Kevin Moore playing keyboards, at least make him write the lyrics, JP and MP cannot write lyrics for shit. And on that note, now Portnoy has left, Dream Theater are gonna suck, there is no drummer that can fill that void.

Halo: Reach until I learned more details about the backstory.

Anyone who hasn't read Halsey's Journal, but did read the Fall of Reach, and then played Reach, will HATE the ending.
Whats wrong with the ending? I thought that it was fine... is there something I am missing?
The Pillar of Autumn had jumped out of the system by the time the invasion started. In the game it is still on the surface two weeks after the Covenant arrive.
And a fragment of Cortana is still on the planet, despite Cortana already being whole in Fall of Reach.

Kingdom Hearts, I kind of, you know... loathe the series (okay, 'loathe' is a bit much, howzabout 'really don't like'?)

I mean, It's one thing that I'm not exactly hung up on the overly-cutesy art direction, forgettable music, awkward story or platform annex RPG gameplay...

But the way they portrayed some of the classic FF-characters was just painful.
Vivi comes to mind...

Kick-Ass, I appreciate that it was a well made film, but as a fan of the comic, the ending wussed out big time, ruined it for me.
I didn't like the end of Kickass either although I haven't read the comics. Can I ask what happens in the comics and why you say it wussed out?

I probably would like Fallout 3 much better if I didn't know that both the super mutants and enclave were both nearly wiped out at the end of the first two games. I don't care what excuse they have for them showing up, it's still a stupid retcon.

Somewhere George Lucas has a bunker built to withstand the all of the fan hatred caused by this very word.

OT: Eragon movie.

Loved the books, loved the characters, loved the creatures only to watch that movie chew it all up and crush my hopes and dreams.

I thought it was just the fact that the third game took place in an entirely different section of the country. The ones in DC came from Vault 87 and, according to the wiki, are completely different populations with no contact between one another.
