Yeah! Another platformer (Not a puzzle) game that isn't Mario or Rayman. I could cry tears of joy.

Edit: Nintendo, just tell me there will be a demo of this game at a Best Buy near by and i'm there.

If I remember correctly that rumor leaked like... years ago. It seems so long ago that I had completely forgotten about it until I saw this trailer and thought, "This reminds me of Mario Ga---Oooooh!"

It looks great, honestly! I hope the 3DS version holds up to the Wii U version.

That's because it basically is Sonic X-treme. It just has prettier graphics.

I'm cautiously optimistic for this title, honestly. I couldn't handle Mario Galaxy. Flip me sideways and upside down and I don't know what the fuck. But it doesn't look quite as bad. But at the same time, this game was canned the first time. So I'm pretty on the fence about it.

I was cautious about the Sega/Nintendo partnership beforehand, but after seeing this trailer, I will say that I am definitely pretty damn hyped about this.

Wow, the trailer looks like tons of fun, especially the wall-running (and the bounce is in! I love the bounce!). I agree with j-e-f-f-e-r-s on the speed element; it seems like Sega has finally realized that there needs to be a balance, and what speed elements are there seem to complement the platforming.

Also, the villains have a lot of character in their designs and will hopefully be some fun boss fights.

Ugh, reminds me of the clunky 3d sonics. Why is it so hard to make a level that flows.(at least based on trailer)

I might get this for the WiiU. I've always been interested in Sonic X-Treme, which sadly never came out, and would've been the only reason I would want a Saturn (When I started wanting old consoles. Oldest I have so far is Genesis, and then I stopped wanting old consoles.) This game looks pretty neat.

Oh look! A first trailer that includes GAMEPLAY. And I am actually interested in it because of what I saw of said gameplay! What a novel concept!

In all Seriousness:
I hope to get my hands on a demo for this game soon. Sega's been going in a positive direction with Sonic recently, and I trust Nintendo will provide some quality control for it, but there are a lot of ways this could go wrong. Still, the trailer did its job. Got me interested.

Why is Sonic fighting the bad guys from Space Jam?

I really don't know what to think about this game... But it's Sonic so I kinda looking foward to this.

Hah! That was my first thought, too!

This looks fun and I've liked the last few Sonic games (I even liked Unleashed). I just need one or two more exclusives to tempt me into buying that Wii U...

Yup, this is giving me some serious Sonic X-treme vibes. Really brings me back.

Also reminds me of this X-treme fangame project headed by the original's director. Wonder whatever happened to that.

When you think about it, though, a level that "flows" is also one that comes to an abrupt halt, either into a wall or off a cliff. Think of Sonic Rush and the Sonic Adventure games; their levels "flowed", but they weren't particularly fun to play through because you were just holding the control stick in one direction and using either twitch reflexes or memorization to jump the platforms or gaps.

Then look at Sonic 2. You've got levels like Hilltop Zone or Mystic Cave where you have to slow down and platform, and those levels were plenty of fun.

Honestly, based on gameplay alone, this is the most appealing 3D Sonic game I think I've ever seen. Colours and Generations were great games, but you could tell Sega were still struggling a bit here and there with the notion of how to control Sonic in 3D. The gameplay in this looks solid, which is crucial.

Hopefully this is confirmation that Sega have finally put the dark days of Sonic behind them, because this looks absolutely stunning.

It kind of looks like Sega are finally backing away from the emphasis on pure speed, and bringing in more of the platforming elements of the early games. I've been replaying the original Sonic games, and one thing that struck me is how much the games don't revolve around speed. Sure, you can run incredibly fast, but unless you're some kind of Jedi, you have to alternate the running with some precision platforming and timed jumping. Looks like Lost Worlds is returning more to that sort of style, which is fantastic.
whats funny is that when criticizing the dreamcast games, journos would act like the previous sonic games were all about speed acting like there were few if any platforming elements.

Interesting to see but I'm curious as to how they're going to get around people getting an obscene amount of motion sickness. Camera moving quickly, zoomed in camera, and the terrain flipping the screen around is a recipe for disaster.

Edit: Yea after watching jeffer's gif for a solid 2-3 minutes I'm already getting queasy.

Wow...just wow, this really looks great. It's starting to look like I am getting a bunch of delicious good looking games that I would want to play on the Wii U. Finally! The drought is going away and it's starting to rain a little. Cannot wait until the rain starts coming down.

Super Sonic Galaxy meets Sonic of Persia? I could dig that. Sonic got a year off for 2012 for major releases (not counting the racing game), so it'll be neat to see if they can start fresh from Generations. For sure keeping an eye on this. PLEASE don't suck.

...oh right, no WiiU. Forgot.
