OT: PSN is down? Oh, dear...*remembers that he owns a 360* Oh, nevermind. Still, sorry for you guys, maybe Sony will finally get their act together and stop blaming others for their incompetence.
Oh, really? I was making a joke. No one ever said the 360 was without its errors as well.JDKJ said:I can't be bothered to come up with an original response to your fanboyism, so I'll just steal a response from smeghead25 conveniently located five posts above:MadCapMunchkin said:I see what you did there.somonels said:Hack theLittle BigPlanet!

"I just looooove how all the Xbox fanboys are claiming that this is a great reason to own an Xbox, even though this pretty much happened to the Xbox for 11 days back in 2007 AND was just because of a shitty software update."
Forgive me. I missed the humor. It sounded to me as if you were standing in a glass house and throwing stones.MadCapMunchkin said:Oh, really? I was making a joke. All is forgiven. And I often seem across as that, so I understand how that could be interpreted as such.JDKJ said:Forgive me. I missed the humor. That wasn't funny. I was big into MAG at the time and wanted to play with some of the people I had met playing it. When I tried to log on, I couldn't. Actually, I think I could still use the web browser function, because I remember testing that and then using it to search for an explanation. Of course, when I realized what happened, I just did something else. Something that didn't require connection to PSN to play. Like Heavy Rain. Oh, wait.LegendaryGamer0 said:Ah yes, the first ApocalyPS3. That one was utterly hilarious, Sony not having it count leap years. XDSaltyk said:Actually, there's a lot of truth in that statement. Not too long ago all the "fat" PS3s were unable to connect to PSN (can't remember if they could still connect to the internet) due to a minor programming error that made the system misread the date. That is impossible. Anon does not have splinter groups, Anon is a splinter group. Countless people from numerous backgrounds with every conceivable ideologies, with some inconceivable.Personally, I think we're looking at a splinter group from Anon
I think Sony is just trying to turn attention away from their own massive screw up. XD
But, ehh, that's just me.![]()

But it cheapens you.
Don't be under any illusions, casual slander won't hurt your enemies more than it will cheapen your own word.
At no point did I use the term "hacker", and that was deliberate on my part mostly because "hacker" is a meaningless term now from how much it has been misused.robert022614 said:Treblaine said:Yes there IS proof, it just obviously they cannot divulge it, I mean no company is that stupid to show their hand on how they figured it out with an ongoing investigation. how is "external intrusions" = hacker? could be anything as far as i can tell.
Er, okay, how about if I rephrase it a little...T-Bone24 said:You can't activate the PC copy unless your PS3 copy has been played whilst connected to the internet. Since the PSN is down, no PC copy and no online play. Seriously, this couldn't have happened next week?Raiyan 1.0 said:I don't get this. If AnonOps is doing a massive attack on PSN via DDOS, wouldn't there be evidence of organizing from the myriad Anon sites? I doubt they are coordinated enough to to carry out massive attacks in total secrecy.
I'm gonna stick with my theory...
Raiyan 1.0 said:Guys! Don't you get it? Its not Anon!
IT'S VALVE!
I mean, how many PS3 users got Portal 2, couldn't log into PSN, and then went on to activate their PC copy, saw the deals on Steam, and went on an impulse shopping spree?
Somewhere, Gabe is going, "ALL YOUR BASES ARE BELONG TO US!"
Ah bummer. Looks like the Internet Hate Machine was getting started up.rmb1983 said:No, Brian.Brian Hendershot said:Wow. I wasn't aware "we" were irrationally hating Sony now. Does this mean we can stop hating Activision?
It does not mean that at all.
To be fair if any of the PSN V XLive is to occur then both need to be hacked by the same group before we can truly see which stands up better.HyenaThePirate said:I wonder if anybody is now rethinking that whole "PSN > Xbox Live cause it's Freeeee!" thing.

No, that's silly.Comando96 said:To be fair if any of the PSN V XLive is to occur then both need to be hacked by the same group before we can truly see which stands up better.HyenaThePirate said:I wonder if anybody is now rethinking that whole "PSN > Xbox Live cause it's Freeeee!" thing.

The argument you make so far is that because Solder A was killed because he had people firing at him while Soldier B is alive and he didn't have people firing at him... therefore B is superior. Na. Both must be put in the same situation.
That.. Is the best theory I've ever heard.HyenaThePirate said:No, that's silly.Comando96 said:To be fair if any of the PSN V XLive is to occur then both need to be hacked by the same group before we can truly see which stands up better.HyenaThePirate said:I wonder if anybody is now rethinking that whole "PSN > Xbox Live cause it's Freeeee!" thing.

What I'm saying is Army A is dealt a terrible blow by the enemy and is unable to protect its property because it lost a soldier and didn't have the funding or infrastructure set aside to endure such a loss. Army B loses a soldier but since they are well funded by the people they are paid to provide protection from, they are and have been able to keep their troops in armor, weapons, and to hire new soldiers immediately to restore order or prevent order from being lost to begin with.
That's not analogous at all and you know it. It's why you used a surface to air missile instead of a terrorist bringing a gun on board. I'm not even going to argue against it. You know the flaw in your argument.JDKJ said:I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around your statement. Yes, it's American Airlines' job to do everything humanely possible to ensure that their airplanes land safely and in one piece at their destinations. But if a terrorist shoots one of those airplanes out of the sky with a surface-to-air missile, who should we blame? American Airlines? The Bandit said:I can't even begin to wrap my mind around this statement. You're made because people are blaming Sony because Sony's PSN shut down? Isn't it... you know... like their job to make sure PSN doesn't shut down? Who should be blamed?Aku_San said:I am kinda pissed that this happened. I play mostly on my ps3 (online, anyhow), so this is really annoying. I'm more pissed that people are calling out Sony, claiming that they solely blame anonymous. Where in any report have they made such claims? I have yet to see it. I don't know why anyone is attacking them for it. I bet if XBL went down, people would be more sympathetic. But since it's Sony, everyone hates on them, it seems.
