Strange, I've always thought the Playstation controllers to be the best of the big three. It helps that they've stayed consistent for each generation, but they've always felt very ergonomic and well designed. XBOX 360's controllers are leagues ahead of the original XBOX, but that still only puts them at Playstation's level (at best).CORRODED SIN said:I'm starting to kind of dig Sony and the PS3. I have always hated it, ever since the PSone.
Well it's not like they serve McCaviar, right? Besides I don't really care about Backwards Compatibility because it draws back most of the authenticity that comes from playing that game. It feels better playing it on the console it was meant for.jthm said:Yeah, arrogance doesn't sell well with me. If I hadn't picked my ps3 up used with an additional 25% discount and it was one of the backwards compatible models, I would've never bought it. I recall Sony comparing their system to the "caviar of gaming systems" back during launch. Caviar might be for the rich and snobbish (excuse me, rich and tasteful) but I remember thinking that a lot more people eat at McDonald's than any place that serves Caviar.
No, sorry. PS2 and PS1 games both play better on PS3. My ps1 died of old age (SNES and Atari Jag still going strong!) and the ps2 was a low quality piece of shit until the 3500X series and the slims, neither of which I own (went through 3 ps2's before the 3500X came out, stopped sold the last one after I got it fixed on warranty, still have all the games). Backwards compatibility is a major selling point and Sony didn't do themselves any favors cutting it out, especially since they've been relying on brand loyalty to move ps3s.buy teh haloz said:Well it's not like they serve McCaviar, right? I was adamant about not getting a PS Move or the Natal for the Xbox. but curse you Kevin Butler! I'm not going to buy it right off the bat, but if it gets good reviews and quality games are made for it, then I'm in.Irridium said:hehe, Keving Butler already did a Playstation Move ad.
Its amazing, and actually kind of makes me want it:
I'm not really sure what it is, but they just don't feel right. I like the stick location on the Xbox controllers better, but the Xbox controllers are always pretty big. I use a MadCatz controller thats about the size of a Dualshock. They've always felt a bit flimsy and a bit unresponsive to me.rsvp42 said:Strange, I've always thought the Playstation controllers to be the best of the big three. But I have heard this opinion elsewhere... what about them bugs you?
You DO know that you can replace the ps3 controller with a 360 style controller as well as a bunch of other 3rd party designs. The controller is the easiest/cheapest thing to replace on a console.CORRODED SIN said:I'm starting to kind of dig Sony and the PS3. I have a PSP-1000 and love it. Where do you get them though? I don't want to get some sketchy controller mod (I'm against that bullshit).GonzoGamer said:You DO know that you can replace the ps3 controller with a 360 style controller as well as a bunch of other 3rd party designs. I'm amazed that they don't think the "It only does Everything" statement isn't arrogant. Especially when they keep taking away features while we keep waiting for features we were promised long ago.
Besides, it wasn't ever the ads that I thought were arrogant, it was always their dbag executives like Phil Harrison that always spouted the really arrogant statements. They just need to muzzle their execs and actually give the ps3 some decent support.
Still, I think Sony should've hired the company that did the cute alien commercials for the crappy minidisc: great ads, terrible product.
Was that a framed picture of Jack Tretton at 0:37? That's awesome.Irridium said:hehe, Keving Butler already did a Playstation Move ad.
