Well that blows, even I wouldn't call for Sony to be sued. Just put in the proper safeguards next time and be done with it. If it turns out however that credit card info was stolen then good luck to them.
Well, no PS3 was hacked in this case, it was the bank of servers in Sony's headquarters that run the PSN. There are plenty of ways to make something literally impossible to hack into, such as storing sensitive information on a computer not connected to the internet. If Sony didn't have a system for this sort of thing, it could very well be simple negligence.Celtic_Kerr said:The sad part is that this is the main point right? I men, the PS3 was unhackable until some dude showed up and hacked it, then someone else, then someone else. There are people out there that simply CAN.Tom Goldman said:The big question that remains is whether or not Sony was negligent, or if some kind of super hacker just outsmarted its system. In either case, it's estimated that the breach could cost Sony billions [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/109611-Credit-Card-Breach-May-Cost-Sony-24-Billion] from lawsuits like this, in addition to government-enforced penalties from around the world.
No you're not, I'm wondering if I can get hold of this lawyer and politely tell him I don't want to be part of his shit.Fiz_The_Toaster said:Am I the only one that's a little pissed that somehow I'm included in all this?
Look, I don't give a shit about lawsuits or any of the other speculative bullshit I've been reading for the past few days right now. I just want to know if I need to change my credit card or not, who did it, and when is this all gonna be fixed!
Definitely don't change your card (why put another in danger) and I wouldn't even bother canceling the one you use.Fiz_The_Toaster said:Am I the only one that's a little pissed that somehow I'm included in all this?

Oh it doesn't, didn't you know? It's all a part of the circus, can't have a full blown disaster with a lawsuit.El Poncho said:How will this help the situation?
I'm leaning towards that, honestly that's the last thing I want to do right now, but it looks like I have no choice.Xzi said:It's entirely up to you. Personally, I would just cancel whatever cards that you had information stored on PSN with. It's a lot less hassle than nervously checking your account activity every day.Fiz_The_Toaster said:Am I the only one that's a little pissed that somehow I'm included in all this?

I'd get mad at your stereotyping if the second part wasn't so true....MatsVS said:If it's one thing americans like more than bombing poor people, it's suing for a quick buck. I for one want no part of it.
