All that aside, I mean... Ok? Sure it's weird. Sure it's Japan. I don't even get why you'd want this feature in the first place. I understand fan service and all, but this kind of fan service is so strange, and I say that as someone who loves JRPGs the most. I guess this is what people want, and won't buy a game for unless they have it? I dunno man, you do you in that case. But surely the entirety of games with these features isn't hell bent on being good on this feature alone, right?

I've played some of the games and it's not a big loss for me. Also, ain't the game gonna be uncensored on Steam? So those have a problem can just play that version or import the Japanese version. Though I do find it odd that Sony cares now. Why they did not have a problem before is beyond me, as this comes off as hypocritical. Sony, if you're trying to please others not buying games, because of fan-service, odds are they are not going to buy it anyway.

The chars range from 15 to 21 in senran kagura. Most are 16ish which is the age of consent in most of the world and definitely past the age where you're a pedo for finding someone attractive. I think people confuse being attracted to someone with whom you can't have sex without it technically counting as statutory rape for being attracted to prepubescent kids which is what actual pedos are.

Are there really that many actual kid chars who are aged arbitrarily over 18? I think most chars just seem outwardly young but act like adults, on top of being of age too. Made in Abyss certainly didn't ever state the chars were young looking adults for one. They're just kids. Not seen OPM yet so can't speak on that.

But yeah, I think as long as a char is mentally mature like Mina Tepes from Dance in the Vampire Bund it's fine to have them in mature situations. The appearance of someone's body does nothing to affect their capacity to consent in their fictional setting. Especially when you add all the anime magic factors and so on.

I'd take offense with the "or otherwise" part here personally. Think how it sounds when we say it about for example murder in games. The implication would be that people who like killing in videogames would need to be warned to not kill people in real life as though they'd not know not to do so already.

I'm pretty sure people can tell games from reality and that well adjusted people can enjoy doing things in games they'd never do in reality, even if those things are not just killing people or stealing cars.
