Huh. So that's why my PSP is collecting dust while my DS is charging right now so I can play my plethora of RPGs, Okamiden and Prof. Layton.

The fact that the statement of "no self-respecting twenty-something is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those," Tretton said. "He's too old for that." insults me. I thought we were trying to gain leverage as an art form, to be taken seriously as a form of media and have people stop looking at gaming as just a kiddy toy and instead as a work of art equal to books and film. And now we have someone saying that there are systems out there that someone is "too old for that?!"

Way to go. I still dream of the world that games aren't something we should be embarrassed to play in public, but something that's done all the time. The social aspects of it make it much more fun, and I actually met someone because he was playing his 3DS and Pokemon and had a conversation with someone I normally wouldn't have met without games. We're in college, we're not too old for it.

It's one thing to put down a system, but to do so by saying that any form of gaming is something that we wouldn't want to do in public is insulting to not only gamers, but the community as well, shame on you Tetton, shame shame and more shame

Honestly, the fact that Resident Evil is getting on 3Ds should be enough to cork this guy.I get he's trying to sell a product but he best not lie about it.

Yeah,Marcus isn't a kid is he?

PSP is any better?! I'm sorry, but the direction that Sony is going is not giving that statement credit. PSPgo is a weak basis for a handheld, no longer supporting the widely avalible UMD stored games, and exchanging that for downloads that you can't trade in. DS still has those little carts, or flash-someting-or-others, that hold games and are easily traded back into video game stores or pawn shops. Yeah, Nintendo has a rep for kiddie games, but it also has some GREAT games. Never forget that EVERYONE played a kiddie game at one time. Sometimes those are better than the ADVANCED games we play today.

Yeah 3DS is totally for kids.
I mean vaporizing zombies and decapitating comes under 'E' rating right?

Jack Tretton: "TEH NINTENDOEZ HENDHALDZ IZ KIDDY 'ND GAY"

Me: *ahem*
999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors (By far the greatest portable game ever made), Dual Blades, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition, Max Payne Advance, Grand Theft Auto Advance, Payback, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Doom II: Hell on Earth, Ecks vs. Sever, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey & Devil Survivor, Contra 4, Metal Slug 7, Hotel Dusk, Phoneix Wright, Dementium 1 & 2, Theresia, Moon, Ultimate Mortal Kombat, C.O.R.E., & Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, Resident Evil: Revelations 3D, Resident Evil: Revelations, Driver 2 Advance, Driver 3 Advance, Driver: Renegade, & Saints Row: Drive By.

I could name plenty more off the top of my head but since you would be too ignorant to understand (kind of like all of these PSP haters), I won't waste anymore time.

Oh and those two underage girls in the article are hot.

24 - I got myself a DSi for my birthday about 2 years ago. I love it. Sometimes its nice to play 'nintendo games' as they've been doing it a lot longer than sony, they know that it takes fun and gameplay to make a good game not just TEH UBAR GRAPHICZ AND TEH GOREZ!!!

not only because the 3DS' failure opened the door for competitors, but it also tainted the Game Boy name which was a bullet Nintendo dodged with the VB.
Have you seen the 3ds' sales figures? I'd hardly call it a failure.

He's obviously never experienced the pure greatness of Proffesor Layton, Phoenix Wright, or the Elite Beat Agents.

And for that, I pity him.
Agreed. I just got a DS Lite and its looking to be a load of fun. I mean also don't forget Trauma Center (and sequel). And at the same time, these 'Self Respecting Adults' will still get a DS for Pokemon, Okamiden, the myriad of Nintendo classics (Legend of Zelda, Mario) and the other 'kiddy games.' Hell, I know I will. At the same time though I do have a PSP and I love both. Though I think my DS will see more play time...Cept I do love Naruto on the PSP.

Yep, twenty-somethings are too old to play games like 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors, Dementium I&II, Theresia, Resident Evil, The World Ends With You, the Call of Duty games, the Ace Attorney games, the Castlevania games, Ninja Gaiden, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, Contra 4 etc...definitely. Kiddy games, all of them.

What a stupid thing to say. I'm 24 and I have no problem playing my DSi in public. I just did so yesterday at the doctor's office.

It's like the George Carlin quote:
"And now a message from the national apple institute...
'Fuck Pears'"

Maybe the NGP is for adults because it's going to be absurdly expensive.

An adult can only truly respect them-self when they don't feel insecure about playing a console just because it has low-resolution graphics, more than one screen, games with characters that aren't covered in dirt and swearing and the absence of infuriating bugs and load times.
