How is the 3ds?I haven't been able to see it beyond a fixed stand at BestBuy.CheckD3 said:The fact that the statement of "no self-respecting twenty-something is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those," Tretton said. "He's too old for that." insults me. I thought we were trying to gain leverage as an art form, to be taken seriously as a form of media and have people stop looking at gaming as just a kiddy toy and instead as a work of art equal to books and film. And now we have someone saying that there are systems out there that someone is "too old for that?!"
Way to go. I still dream of the world that games aren't something we should be embarrassed to play in public, but something that's done all the time. The social aspects of it make it much more fun, and I actually met someone because he was playing his 3DS and Pokemon and had a conversation with someone I normally wouldn't have met without games. We're in college, we're not too old for it.
It's one thing to put down a system, but to do so by saying that any form of gaming is something that we wouldn't want to do in public is insulting to not only gamers, but the community as well, shame on you Tetton, shame shame and more shame
Have you seen the 3ds' sales figures? I'd hardly call it a failure.Sir John the Net Knight said:not only because the 3DS' failure opened the door for competitors, but it also tainted the Game Boy name which was a bullet Nintendo dodged with the VB.Eri said:snipped, but read.
Agreed. I just got a DS Lite and its looking to be a load of fun. I mean also don't forget Trauma Center (and sequel). And at the same time, these 'Self Respecting Adults' will still get a DS for Pokemon, Okamiden, the myriad of Nintendo classics (Legend of Zelda, Mario) and the other 'kiddy games.' Hell, I know I will. At the same time though I do have a PSP and I love both. Though I think my DS will see more play time...Cept I do love Naruto on the PSP.Irridium said:He's obviously never experienced the pure greatness of Proffesor Layton, Phoenix Wright, or the Elite Beat Agents.
And for that, I pity him.
Yeah.. We, adults play on our smartphones when we are using public transportation..Tom Goldman said:Sony: Nintendo Handhelds Aren't for Self-Respecting Adults
