Increased encryption. Nice. A definite improvement over none/practically none.

* and then, we all discover it's not even 128-bit *

Back online in England...despite the EU Sony blog saying it is still offline. Bizarre, but not problematic, though you would think they would want this popular as quickly as possible.

Any way to Portal, However, I am assuming we still can't activate our Steam copy until the store is back online.

*EDIT*

Ok my bad, PSN is not back online, it just allowed me to download the system update, and updates for New Vegas, but wont sign me in. _> So thats how that works apparently.

i hope sony learned a few very important lessons:
1) you dont screw your customers over in the ToS and then sue them, because people will be angry.
2) you dont let the one's who are angry, be the ones who can bring you to your knees in their leisure time.
3) you need to have some security, not rely solely on the fact that the console wasnt hacked.

it seems they may have walked away knowing no. 3. lets hope they learn 1 & 2 before i get a ps3.

Hmm doesn't work for me yet. I'm still getting "Down for maintenance".

Well its not back for me in wiltshire yet. Also you just need to link your steam and psn accounts to do it then enter the code on the steam store

Anyway how many PsP users here?
I can't really do much of anything besides sign in are they neglecting the PsP?

Netflix worked without PSN being up lol
Worked for me, too.

Were people actually having issues with that?
It was working for me and then I somehow got logged out and it wouldn't work after that. As long as you never logged out, you should be cool.

Yay! I can finally get Outland :D I found it amusing that I did a few major purchases and got all my downloading of them done literally a few hours before it went down, then tried to play Portal 2 online with a friend for the first time, only to not be able to sign into Steam. Didn't figure out it wasn't my net until the next day.

I've got the update. But no word on when service will return.
Patience my fellow English/Welsh/Scotsman! The UK has a large player base and is one of the biggest players on the gaming scene, they won't forget about us, I'd assume we'll be one of the first in Europe, probably after Germany and France.

Although... A map of europe like they had of america wouldn't hurt sony!

I love the fact that they bothered to make a state-by-state map of the PSN rollout in America, which is already complete, whereas everywhere else, it's pretty much just "yeah, we'll get back to you on that one".

Classic SCEE.

OT: Still waiting down under, but if the UK hasn't even been reactivated yet, I don't think I'll even bother checking until Friday anyway.

Just tried to get on eu.playstation.com and got a message saying that it's "undergoing essential maintenance and is currently unavailable". Okay then...

Hey don't forget us Northern Irish people....

All the mainland UK citizens always forget about us.....
Ah I'm sorry buddy. Truth be told Its always something I used to do, but then I moved in with an Irish person, and I've always been unsure weather or not to count you guys. All I know is some are fine with it and some are not.

BUT!
Northern Ireland is a part of the UK none the less, I'll try to be more mindful next time :)

And I've already heard reports of Germany being back online, so it's only a small waiting game.

Hooray!
I have a question though, to change my password, will I be able to do it from my ps3, or will I need to do it from my email, because I don't have the email I used for my account anymore.
