Soul Calibur 4. Why are you so awful?

I remember getting into massive arguements with my gamecube friend (I was xbox) over which was the best console specific character. I know it kinda fueled fan-boy flame wars, but I kinda liked it, they should do it more often I recon (even in non-fighting games).

I loved Soul Caliber 2. The amount of time I put in as Misturugi in that game is inhumane. I remember Yoshimitsu (he was the special character in the PS2 version) did his helicopter sword thing and landed in the water out of the map. I've never laughed so much in a video game.

Thankfully I stopped at it and have nothing but fond memories. Fond memories indeed.

Actually everyone had Yoshimitsu. Heihachi was the extra character. mind you PS2 did get the lamest special character.

Ah yes so he was. I forgot that. It doesn't detract from that hilarious memory so I don't mind. I never played as Heihachi however. I have Tekken to play as him >.>

I have played SC1 up to SC4 and I would have to say, that I find the reasoning for Soul Calibur 2 being better than Soul Calibur 3 and 4 are weak. Sure soul calibur 3 and 4 were slowed down, however; those 2 games catered less to button mashers than SC1 and 2 did due to the team putting emphasis on delay, movement speeds, etc. Saying that a game is good because of the mini games. The create a character feature falls within this same category as it too means nothing but to please the fans. I was a beast a SC1, SC2, and SC3 so by no means am I saying this because I "suck at the game" though I can't prove that ;). It seems to me that most people that say that SC2 is the best are, imo, those that were unable to adapt to the ways of SC2 and SC3 whether it be those who turtled or spammed attacks such as Raphael's forward Vert x3. The fighting game community(At least in the US) views SC as a joke and going off of the arguments that it needs better mini games, better character customization, story mode(though I agree with this because the story is good), and guest characters it may never get the credit that it deserves due to the its own player base.
