I'm not sure I'd use the word pathetic to describe Warhammer 40k, but it's certainly overbearing to the point of infeasibility. All the races in the universe (humankind "Empire" included) run the gamut of being overzealous to completely bloodthirsty, and probably would have blasted themselves back into the stone age with their own suicidal tendencies.
They probably would have, if the whole of the humankind "Empire" was made up of bloodthirsty soldiers. But they're not.

Humans, Tau and Eldar are just ordinary people living their ordinary lives. Only a small number of each actually fight (Except for the Eldar, who are all prepared to fight if necessary). Those that do fight are fighting for the survival of their species. Orks are designed for war. They reproduce through spores without really thinking and they have a "Technogene", a genetic memory of technological accomplishments, that was designed into them. Tyranids are a race that consume and absorb bio matter, using it to adapt and evolve to meet the circumstances. Necron are all mindless robots, controlled by an unthinking God and Chaos are constantly recruiting and nigh on immortal for the most part.

I think that's everyone.

40k is a pathetic (by the very word) fantasy for little pre-pubescent boys (who like to attach paint on overexpensive plastic).

If you read one its rulebooks, you get the notion that the futurist movement, which idolized war, manliness and pathetic dying for blood, honour and shit did actually survive the trenches of the First World War.

The fact, that there still is melee in "modern" combat is preposterous.
Ever heard of Technology?
Ever heard of the invention of the Tool?
Technology, tools and the hand with the antagonistic thumb and fingers enable humans to surpass any animal in strength, armor, speed, lethality, etc.

Your question is a bad joke.
I mean, have a look @ Africa, where CHILDREN are soldiers... no, not fully grown humans (be it male or female), but CHILDREN!

The invention of the assault rifle has made this possible.
Whether a society, where children fight is desirable is a question that is not part of the pathic 40k world, which consists, as someone already put it entirely of "fight and death" (add: "shitloads of pathos, pathos, pathos") - and there you have your answer.

A woman in an exosuit/armor with a helmet on would look EXACTLY the same as a man. If you consider that movement is assisted by technology, there would be no differences - regarding combat capabilities - left between the 2 sexes.

But then again... there goes your little boys' fantasy, which can best be checked in American cartoons (take Batman for example and check for the picturization of the average male vs. the average female, what do you find?) and latest macho video games (Gears of War, anyone?) where males _have_ to look like 3metres tall, 2metres wide, 120% muscles and women like 40 kilos, 2 pounds of make-up plus cup-size F.

Did I already mention that the world of 40k is pathetic?
Please can you not post in my thread, it isn't that I don't like you it's just you really don't have anything interesting or worthwhile to say.

Yes, and the storyes are done using the canon. You don't think they actually got those 30 Terminators and tried them out against millions of 'Stealers, do you? :p
No they're not. Whose the author of Gaunt's Ghost... umm.. Dan Abnett? Anyway *that guy* had never even played a game of 40k when he wrote the first one IIRC.

Women are present in the 40K universe they are in the Imperial guard, Adeptus Soritas(sisters of battle) and all are as tough as nails however space marines are male because the genetic moddifications were keyed to the Y chromosone because The emperor (male) used his own flesh to create 20 children (the primarch) who basicaly being clones were all male and from thier bodies the same process was used to create the new organs for space marine recruits.
Technology in 40K is simply copied with no real understanding of how anything works thus no female marines, humanity in 40K is very gender neutral but is instead extremly Xenophobic

Even fantasy needs plausibility and credibility.
Since when are elves or orcs credible or plausible?

Have we found green men living in our planet caves? Have I missed something?
Orcs and Elves in space. Details, my good man, details.

This thread seems kind of pointless. I don't really get the topic, could someone further elaborate it for me?
In warhammer 40k there are no space marine galz. Do you think they should have Space chicks? And what would they be like?
They would be like the women who took steroids and have large amounts of testosterone.

Or maybe they could be like snipers...some kind of light infantry. Obvious, but I can't think of anything else.
You realize that real snipers carry more weight than infantry soldiers, right? good luck packing 200+ lbs of gear on a female, even if she is a space marine.
An ordinary space marine carries more than A Ton of power armor.
Fixed for you.

Whether or not Sisters of Battle qualify as space marines, I'm pretty sure if a space marine of either gender was found dancing like that, they'd be shot on sight for heresy of the highest order. The music that flash animation was set to was clearly spawn of chaos influences.
NO¡¡¡ chaos is METAL¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ THE MOST BEASTIEST OF METAL¡¡ how DARE you say such a thing¡¡¡ DEATH TO THE EMPEROR¡¡¡

p.d. I think I've taken too much coffee today *twitch*, which mixed to my wh40 fanatism makes me go berserker(ZOMG BERSERKER¡¡¡ BLOOD, I need BLOOOD¡¡¡)

The reason why there are no female Space Marines is that most of the implants require testosterone to function. Second of all, the requirements for becoming a Space Marine require physical prowess that women simply don't posses. Sexism and political correctness bullshit aside, woman are inferior to men physically and they would not survive the transformation.

Really? They have to have testosterone? They can't make them run off of something else? Wow is that is true then I am going to have to stab some one. All that technology and that is what they came up with, testosterone. Gee why don't they have the Enterprise run off of koolaid? Or Spock's logic?

What are you talking about?

The Emperor created the Space Marines and his Primarch sons through the use of his own DNA. Because of that, the additional organs grown for Space Marines would have a Y chromosome leaning and that means in order to function they'd need to have testosterone in their blood stream. Also, keep in mind that in 40K, technology is considered a form of magic and in the purview of the Mechanicus who view tampering with the already established norms of their designs and technologies to be heresy. And in 40K, particularly for a human, heresy is ALWAYS a bad thing.
