Talk about aneurysm-inducing fluff.
What if an exterminatus was performed on the planet he was on?dietrichrieper said:chief, no matter what or who you throw at him , he will beat it the reason?
Luck.
erh... the spartans might wanna team up, but dont count on the space marines holding hands with anyone... hell there are some instances of the space marines fighting against the imperial guard, and destroying entire worlds populated by their own civilians.dementis said:Seeing as they're both humans defending their species from evil aliens and the like, I think they wouldn't fight but team up.
Haven't read it myself, but i hear it's page 16.SckizoBoy said:*rushes to get BA codex*Mathak said:Didn't Matt Ward take care of that in the BA codex? Hmmm *currently leafing through it*, a couple bits of vs Necrons & vs Tyranids with Eldar, no necron cooperation far as I can tell. Anyway, one thing I kept wanting to rage against Matt Ward for was 'deep-striking Land Raiders'. Why, Matt, why?
PS I like Phil Kelly, so guess where I stand!
First of all, Horus was not the Emperors equal. He was close, but the only reason he managed to hurt the Emperor was because the Emperor was holding back. If we're gonna get all fanboyish in this thread, we should do it right.alrekr said:He might be one of the Sensi also know as the Sons of the emperor woh have no warp presence and thus scare warp monsters and can live in the warp and not go insane. nah, in the fluff a space marine would only wipe out one planet, and then get glassed. remember that the only reason the covenant win in halo, whenever the spartans are there, is because they have superior fleets. anywhere there are spartans the ground war is always a close call with ungodly losses, or a loss.NickCooley said:Are we talking the balanced 40k Table Top model Space Marine? Or the admittedly awesome yet ridiculously overpowered Space Marines of the Warhammer 40k fluff which makes them (and pretty much every unit except Imperial Guardsmen) living gods amongst men?
If it's the balanced option, in the parameters you specified the Space Marine would win without question in a firefight, a normal assault rifle is a flash light compared to a bolter. In hand to hand however I think they'd be on even footing. I reckon an energy blade could pierce a Marines armour and like wise a chain sword could gut a Spartan. The Spartan could probably be more effective at range if they were allowed to bring some of their heavier weapons to bear, like the Spartan Laser, Rocket Launcher etc.
If it's according to the fluff one Space Marine could single handedly defeat the Spartans, UNSC, Covenant and Flood while taking time out to commit a one man exterminatus on all the planets he passes and finish by punching out Cthullu.
*sob* Fuck... me...Mathak said:Haven't read it myself, but i hear it's page 16.
Personally i just want Alessio Cavatore back..or Andy Chambers.
Draw. 5 minutes into the match they both stumble into the lair of an ancient unspeakable evil (two separate lairs and evils, mind), and they'll spend the rest of their day running away and trying to clean up their own mess.Loop Stricken said:A better, or at least more enjoyable match-up?
Master Chief vs Ciaphas Cain (HERO OF THE IMPERIUM!)
That's a match MC can't luck his way out of; if the chief is supermaturally lucky, Ciaphas is a bloody abomination of luck-based proportions.
two's MC?DaysBefore said:Yeah, except one Apple is a Seven Foot Tall, genetically modified Killing Machine and the other is a Seven Foot Tall Genetically Modified Killing Machine with 10x the Fanboys. Guess who is who.
