But would responding change it ? I think not. By responding you just make them talk more and longer (because they feel rewarded by your attention) and you tell all the algorithms that it is worth spreading their words far and wide because people like you engage with it.
Yes. Responding would work at times. Especially when the trolls actually get themselves in trouble or they face consequences for their actions. I'm not talking about the YouTube ones. I'm referring to the Facebook and Twitter ones.

something illegal you can have taken down and prosecuted, "ignoring" is still by far the best you can do, even considering that they might push someone else to take real world actions.
Once again that depends. I wouldn't exactly call it harmless when said trolls or whatever I'm making up false claims and statements and trying to present them as facts on people that are of different race, religion, or because they're not the same gender or not a straight white male.

The whole attention economy is deplorable.

And i nowadays really dislike anyone pointing to randos on the internet saying bad things. Because any outrage and controversy only helps them and their talking points in the end.
I do care if people in power say bad things. Because they could abuse said power. I also do care if sizable numbers of nobodies as in relevant percentages of the population agree with certain opinions.
And guess what? Those people in power that do and say bad things, only helps out the crazy randos further or those they indoctrinated. It's why it's important to call both of them out. Sometimes ignoring does not work. It is better to call out or to stand together to fight it then to act like there's not much of a problem or ignore it and hope it goes away. The culture war is stupid, but I never started it nor wanted to make things worse nor partake in it. The once again, it's really the ultra conservatives and those on the over-defensive that started it and don't know when to stop or make things worse. Not to say that those are the left leaning or left-wing didn't cause trouble as well, but it was nowhere near the amount the Right did. They instigated it and are almost always on a cost and attack or defensive when they get called out or get their asses whooped.

course it is better if you leave the anglosphere and the US influence. But there are way too many people trying to copy the very same arguments and topics in other languages and try to get famous this way.
Yep, and those people across the pond or in different countries try to think or act like they're better than what the US did or more superior because they did it in a "smarter way". When in reality they're just as trash as Trump and all his mindless pawns. They're just copycat in the souls playing follow the leader of a bigger imbecile.

Wasnt her original concept art hyper stylized in an anime way. I dunno if that translates to the realistic dimentions of the remake.
The artstyle of the original game was highly stylized. Everyone had body proportions which would look gross and uncanny on a more realistic human figure. Somehow, noone is complaining that Tifa's eyes don't take up 3/4 of her face or that they dropped her impossible giraffe legs so no, this isn't about some kind of aversion to changing the character. Everyone understood the change in art style and accepted it except in one particular, extremely stupid way that isn't even a consistent part of this character's representation.

Because, you know, we can have an extremely convincing recreation of the way actual breast tissue extends up into and shapes a human armpit, but it doesn't look like someone crudely rendered a beachball out of 6 polygons so it's clearly inferior. Remember what they took from you.

They mad about how a character looks in their games, meanwhile fanporn of that character is alrwady everwhere else. It really is pretty funny.
Why?

That's literally porn.

There is no consistency in the shaming and that's kind of the issue to me because it's just confusing.
Shame is a powerful tool to regulate behavior. Think about OP's posts. Is OP talking about real life social interactions? Is he having this discussion in a place like the public library? No, this is a gaming forum past its prime.

Read post #1 and post #3 and #7. What's more likely, OP loves Tifa and her breasts and wants to spread the good news, or he has an axe to grind with people on this website? What do you think he cares more about, breasts or winning an argument?

Imagine if I asked, "Why do you care about Gemini AI, are you obsessed with black people?" This is an utterly ridiculous question that sadly a lot of people will respond to.

To imply OP's post or anything similar is either banal or beyond the range of acceptable discourse is a tactic to scare the plebs into moving past this topic and to get rid of unwanted attention, a deft use of deflection. You either shuffle along because there is no correct answer, or you take the bait. Unfortunately despite knowing this OP has bungled it and decided to testify in court, and now his sexual preferences are being cross-examined! But that's why this uno-reverse is so effective, it's hard not to respond to slander. Any questions like "how is this even a problem to begin with" goes out the wayside.

Oh her chest is 100% smaller.
Someone noticed, cool. After all these years, they still believe something that can be disproven by a picture of an FMV. It's not really their fault because nobody wants to be that guy. I'm not sure what you were saying about not being "nerfed" but that's a language game. So OP was right, "Tifa's boobs indeed were smaller in the remake of ff7 than in the original game". His fake tweet doesn't change that fact, nor does it change the fact that we have Nomura's transcripts confirming they were also tightened, so visually reduced, by the ethics committee.

If all this seems silly, keep in mind we are indirectly implying OP and anyone who agrees with him of being a pervert and a failed human being. All that because he won an old argument? Maybe it's all camera angles and lighting and we're wrong, does that warrant that amount of vitriol? No.

@Dreiko. OP if you read this, you're not all that innocent either and neither am I, but I have to tell you this. Do not spend any time trying to convince people who already made up their mind. You are trying to convince people who DETEST and REVILE you. You are literally wasting your time and for what. Pride? Nothing will happen if you're right, see your post #3. They literally do not care, and they'll ignore it and move on to something else!

Do not spend ANY time on culture wars, woke and anti-woke world, twitter, or any subreddit that hates any group of people. I don't care if you think they're evil. Someone else thinks you're evil. You know how people say video games are a waste of time? Well imagine spending your time getting mad on the internet. Since this is an enclave of anti-woke world, I'm going to take my own advice and skedaddle.

Several months back I gave out similar advice on this site. I just don't get it. When it's people that are intentionally arguing in bad faith and/or are never, ever going to come to terms with your point of view, why waste the energy? You brought up a sense of pride, which I think I covered in my attempt as well. But I have to wonder if it's for some sense of need to feel powerful by telling someone else off for their clearly wrong /s point of view... to tell the evil people that they are the evil ones. "If I don't speak up then they'll keep thinking they're right" is what I suspect is the mindset. Is there really any point though when the viewpoint is so deeply ingrained that it's damn near a personality?

Like I told you before: I don't waste unless said person or persons say really something dumb, idiotic, or just that untrue and ignorant. Plus, it's just fun seeing of some of these people throw biggest hissy fit or go into ultra denial when called out with evidence, or know they got nothing to stand on otherwise. They usually bring it on themselves any way, and are their own worst enemy.

I've only sporadically followed the discussion, so this argument might have already been brought up, but nonetheless:

A set of things that we both argued is still a waste of time to do, because the stances made by people that make these comments are unlikely to change or be swayed by the replies made against them. You've created some form of separation in your mind with some specific parameters of what constitutes it being a waste of time to do or not, but it all reads the exact same to me. You're still bothering to reply to people like this (sometimes downright insulting them with certain levels of hostility) and they continue to remain unchanged by it.

Plus, it's just fun seeing of some of these people throw biggest hissy fit or go into ultra denial when called out with evidence, or know they got nothing to stand on otherwise. They usually bring it on themselves any way, and are their own worst enemy.
So, the reason why it's done is for personal amusement?

Ok, how is responding supposed to work here in your favor ?
There are never any consequences or trouble as long as the comments are within the legal bounds.

Always keep in mind that any answer tells the algorithm that this was an attention worthy tweet and it and similar ones need to be shown to more people.

And while directly responding already hardly works, going elsewhere and complaining about internet randos saying stupid things is even worse. That is basically just telling your in-group how much better you and them are which they will likely agree on and feel so smart and moral.
The once again, it's really the ultra conservatives and those on the over-defensive that started it and don't know when to stop or make things worse. Not to say that those are the left leaning or left-wing didn't cause trouble as well, but it was nowhere near the amount the Right did.
True.
But it is the same people that profit most from it. You don't need proper arguments anymore when it is your side against their side. And your side is more willing to overlook all your other failings and stupid nonsense when there is the looming threat of the other side "winning" and changing culture.

This whole tribal pattern of the culture war is primarily used to shield the scumbags of both sides from criticism. Instead they are treated as heroes because of all the abuse from the other side they naturally generate.

Just refuse to play this game.

So I looked up screens of Tifa in Advent Children, and she has roughly the same size there.

So this whole discussion is really almost two decades behind the curve.

Also her best outfit. Fight me.

There's a Garnet costume in FFVII Ever Crisis. Not for Tifa tho, for Aerith. Also a Zidane for Cloud, and Kuja for Sephiroth. Tifa gets Amaranth, for some reason. And one of the new store brand characters gets Vivi. Barrett, to my great displeasure, does not get Steiner.

Aerith also gets this one
Which is just excellent
