The most important thing though is that they didn't throw the fit two years after the games release. You mate are so fucking late to the boat you can't even claim controversy on this game any more. It's old an passe, not even you're grandma is offended by it any more.
Though really dude? 1600$? I made more than that working a part time job on Saturdays. I doubt that 1600$ is gonna cover your legal costs. But it does says something very very disturbing about this guy if he values his race being offended only worth 1600$.

The funny thing is neither this game or any other console game is officially available to purchase in mainland China. The minority of gamers who pay for console games here must import them. Guy's a lawyer, with China's payscale he's asking for at best 1-month salary (his salary mind, your average Joe China would consider 10000 Yuan 5 months salary), it isn't about the money yet, it's about getting the door open for other ridiculous lawsuits if the precedent is set.
That being said, considering the game isn't sold within China this lawsuit has not a chance in hell of getting through, in International Court it'll get laughed out the door.
If China wants people to stop making fun of it then it should stop making itself such an easy target. The bureaucracy is bloated, inefficient and resistant to change, plus they've spent the last 40 years establishing the idea in the minds of their citizens that China is right and the rest of the world is flawed, even if said citizens are living in what would be considered poverty anywhere else (except maybe North Korea) they're convinced that the government will somehow make it work. Luckily this viewpoint is changing due to greater international exposure for the new generations.
When I lived out there I found that people who had been outside of China for extended periods (usually University study) did not want to be back in China for long if they could help it, though Exit visas are a huge ballache to get a hold of.
