Square Enix Wants Final Fantasy VII Spin-Off on 3DS

Shows that not only is square enix falling behind in the RPG industry due to being fucking lazy as hell but instead of remaking what thier fans/customers actually want, they instead make a another spinoff. I bet theyd wait till they file for chapter 11 before they remake it, bioware deserves the spot were square used to be, because their new games dont suck ass like squares do.

For everyone in Square-Enix who wants to make FF7 Spin-offs, there are at least a hundred fans who want a true FF7 remake. I say hundreds because many of the other people who wanted one in the past (like me) feel somewhat betrayed by seeing a tech demo only to hear that "it can never be done. Just be happy you're getting a shiny new Final Fantasy XIV for free on computers and, another Dissidia."

Why did I grow up liking games that end up having their sequels banished to the realms of psp and DS? Syphon filter, ff tactics, disgaea, parasite eve.

So yes, VII is its own franchise. Last Order is, in my opinion, the best thing to come from it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdGYaFDPlks . I'm convinced also that VII will be remade on the 20th year if they ever do decide they're going to remake it.

I too lurve the whole complilation, so take that as you will.

I had ZERO interest in the 3DS until I read this... but I really don't want to have to buy it just for this game. How about a cross-platform release? Right now I'm thinking that Nintendo is going "we can sell more hardware, yay!!!" from reading this. There's enough of us fanchildren out there.

And I'll cop to being one. I'd like it better if they released it for the iPhone/Android, or maybe as a PSN/XBLA Download game. It wouldn't feel like it was being used to pimp hardware then.
