What? It wouldn't make them shut up at all! Not only would it mean that FF7 would be even more accessible to a current generation of gamers that didn't play the original, it'd open the forums to requests for other titles to be remade, thus continuing the problem! And considering all the crap that's been made for FF7 fans, I don't think they deserve the whole game a second time 'round.Mornelithe said:I absolutely loved it, and while I'd love to see a remake (understand, most of the gripe is coming from the original tech demo that Sony showed in what...2005 prior to the PS3's launch? As I said though, just doing the remake would be great so it'd silence everyone asking for it, and allow the world to collectively move on to something else. heh.peterwolfe said:Mmmmmmmeh. Indeed it would be, especially if the remake goes to the DS, like IV or III. Personally, I'd prefer a remake of FFVI that I can find (even the one for GBA is impossible to find for me) or FFIX.New Troll said:That would be funny! Yup. Thats what I've been thinking for a while...CantFaketheFunk said:At this point, honestly, I just kind of want Square to remake Final Fantasy VII to make the fans stop asking about a remake of Final Fantasy VII already. I guess some things never die, no matter how much they ought to.
Alright, that's fair enough, just say that next time. I maintain, however, that it wouldn't stop any of the screams of the FF fan for remakes, and that Square-Enix already has projects underway they'd want to focus on first. Plus, it's probably rather insulting to them that while they're making two new installments of the series, everyone's just complaining that they want an old game remade, so I doubt any of them particularly want to make concessions at this point.Mornelithe said:Well, speaking from a monetary stand point, S-E would be foolish not to. With the success of Bionic Commando: Rearmed, we can certainly draw the conclusion that any remade game, done well, and with the spirit of the original in mind, will make money hand over fist.peterwolfe said:What? As for deserve? I dunno, I think largely, you're hearing from people who've already played the game, and would love to see it happen again. Additionally, and going by rough numbers here since vgchartz is usually lowballing numbers, it's the highest selling FF game of all time. By almost 2 million units.
Hell, I'd be happy if they took FFVII and just recreated it with Crystal Tools, no new fangled engine, just use what they have. Plain and simple. It'd sell like a crack+heroine+oxycontin hybrid.
Lol. That would be fucking great!oliveira8 said:I want them to remake FF8 just to annoy people.
Wait, how can you call games that haven't come out yet bad, in good conscience? As far as I remember, the only one that isn't an mmo to come out was XII. One game hardly creates a trend.Syvari said:I never understood why people hate FF.
The new ones are overdesigned and overbudget pieces of poo, but up through FFX they were great.
FF7 honestly was my favorite, however it was not THAT much better than the rest of them.....
also, NOT the greatest game of all time. Legend of Dragoon was a game in just the same genre that was better than FF7.
They should remake it to make the massive amounts of money off of it, and they would only really need to do a half-ass job too.
