Square: We're Not Remaking FF7, Play It On PSN

Square have been going majorly downhill ever since they merged with Enix. Look at crap such as Infinite Undiscovery, that's courtesy of Enix. I swear they have so much influence over modern Square games.

If there was a remake made now, it would most likely have Enix's influence in a lot of it and a great game will be ruined.

Sod remakes, I prefer to play something new than to just have nostalgia rushes with pretty graphics.

This year is quite funny. It's the year of successful petitions, the year of price hikes, and the year of companies telling fans to STFU every other day.

It makes sense that they would say that, otherwise you would just get people saying "naw, I'm not buying that, the graphics suck! I'll wait for the remake with HD GWAFIX!!!1"

If I'm seeing anything from Square after FFXIII, it better be Chrono Break. That is all.

FFX-2 remade would be the funniest thing in the world.
I actually don't want them to remake 7, I'd much rather have 9.

Would a remake of FF7 allow you to play the game without Cloud?

Anyone force anyone to read these requests for a remake? Nope.

I'm one of the FFVII is the best game ever people - and it only adds to my pleasure watching all the people who seem to have something against it. You don't think it's the best game ever or even a great game maybe, but no-one cares. A hell of a lot of people do think it is and they have the right to say so.

I only ask of two things for a potential FFVII remake:

1) Add the content that went missing when they ran out of development time for the original game.

2) Don't try to make it photo-realistic. Stylized graphics fit the game better.

I bought FFVII of the PSN a little while ago, mostly because I never played it and want to know what the entire 'FF VII is the best' hype is about.
And the only reason to make a remake, I can think of is, to integrate the L3 stick for movement.
The D-pad hurts my thumb these days...

Square will only remake FF7 when they need to it's their trump card in case of possible bankrupt. We all know they have an emergency button that when pushed switches all teams on all projects to the FF7 remake.

It'll happen, wouldn't be surprised if they get round to remaking all of the PSX Final Fantasys in the coming years. At least it sounds like they'll approach it with a reasonable amount of care when they get started on it.

Not everything needs to be remade, and remakes in general are a no-win situation (as far as the fans are concerned, although they are sadly proven money-makers.) You'll either piss of the "purists" who complain that too many changes were made from the original, or you'll piss off "everyone else" who complain that all they got was the exact same game with aesthetic upgrades. And given how rabid this fan-base is in conjunction with how popular the game was, it'll be impossible to reach that perfect balance...

It would certainly bring the game to a whole new light. These days Lego characters have more personality and detail than the character models in FFVII.

Then why not Lego Final Fantasy VII? It would be epic.

I never understood why people hate FF.
The new ones are overdesigned and overbudget pieces of poo, but up through FFX they were great.
FF7 honestly was my favorite, however it was not THAT much better than the rest of them.....
also, NOT the greatest game of all time. Legend of Dragoon was a game in just the same genre that was better than FF7.

They should remake it to make the massive amounts of money off of it, and they would only really need to do a half-ass job too.

Wow Legend of Dragoon was HARD. I played it when I was smaller only got to the start of the second disk :/

I don't know much about FF but to remake a completely different one in the series would be hilarious, a bit like if Valve decided to remake Left 4 Dead next Summer.
