Silly question. Will there be any races to choose from or is everybody human?

I know Jedis get the glory, but I've always wanted to suit up in that sleek, 10-piece trooper armor.

Here's hoping they got something Smuggler-like...better armored, but still favoring tactics and evasion over just tanking it with a Gatling Blaster.

MMO customization always sounds nice...but it never really pans out. Sure WoW gives you tons of options to spec out your character any way you want...but you better have the optimal spec or the big kids won't let you come play with them.

And of course for balance reasons they can't be too different, so every class eventually becomes an exercise in facerolling anyway.

Have they said what kind of payment systems the game's going to use yet? I won't pay a subscription.
Obviously there will be a subscription fee. They havnt confirmed it yet but i would bet any money it will cost the same as WOW/WAR since they cost the same and from what i gather its pretty much the 'standard' high profile MMO subscription fee. Its like $15.00 a month or sumin, like £9.00 if your British.

This just keeps getting better and better.
This just keeps getting worse and worse!
And why would you say that?
Probably the same reason you said what you said ^_^
Didn't mean any offense, just thought it'd be funny to quote it :)
Don't worry no offence taken i was genuinely wondering what anyone could dislike about the game :p

In that case, I officially have no interest in this game whatsoever.

Well, it has already been confirmed that Jedi will be able to play as a Togruta (Shaak Ti or Ahsoka), and most likely Twileks as well.

Heh... "Do you want to be the Smuggler that sneaks, or the Smuggler that snipes"... LucasArts: Keeping smuggling from smugglers in Star Wars MMOS since 2003.

It's WoW. Just WoW.
I'm sure it'll be great because, It's Star Wars WoW <_<

All I can see when I look on that game is WoW made by Bioware..
We'll see if you feel about it that way after hearing non-stop fully voiced dialogue...
And combat with animations that, for the first time in an MMO, actually react to what happens around the character...
And the relevance of the healer/tank/DPS trinity reduced so that you don't have to spam "LFG!" nonstop for instances...

No love for Wookiees? Sad.

Also, now we know what the Sith "tank" class is - smart money says that the Republic will get an equivalent as a subclass of either the Imperial Trooper or Jedi Knight archetypes.
Picking at nits here, but the Republic class with the white armor and big ole blaster is simply called the Trooper, or to further clarify, the Republic Trooper. An Imperial Trooper would be a grunt under the Sith Empire. [/nitpicking]

I'm looking forward to this game so much that I'm staring at the back of my head. A permanent playstyle choice is an interesting mechanic, essentially doubling their number of classes, and simultaneously causes the min/max'er in me to cringe in horror and the story/RP-nerd in me to giggle with glee.

You are't seeing the big picture.
You're only seeing the pretty words that Bioware promises.

This is simply WoW but improved.
And you aren't seeing the fact that Bioware has been most careful about what they release. They don't make a promise of something that has not already been implemented into this title. In fact, they made sure to stick to that because they knew how stupid it would be to promise things that don't make it into the MMO at launch day. Hence, this is more than just 'pretty words that Bioware promises' - for once this is what we'll get.

But each to their own really. I doubt I'll convince a cynic.
