Your argument makes no sense dude, if all they did was change the viewpoint in syndicate it would be a strategy game with a first person perspective, but they are stripping the strategy elements out. I mean, would you still make that argument if in Fallout 3 they took out all the perks, the leveling, the skills and the open world and made it a linear shooter?CountryMike said:Fallout changed its viewpoint and it was awesome. No reason why Syndicate isn't gonna be awesome.
It costs more to start up a new IP.Echo136 said:Why would they need to cash in on a dead franchise. You cant even find Syndicate on GOG.com. Id never even heard of the game. You might as well just start with a brand new IP since the last one they had was like 15 years ago.
Hmmm. I wonder how I missed that one? I used to really like C&C back in its heyday. Was the game any good?The_root_of_all_evil said:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Command_%26_Conquer:_RenegadeChildofGallifrey said:Next up: Command & Conquer re-imagined as a gritty, realistic modern day military shooter. It's sure to be a hit!!
Gotta watch for those sarcastic remarks that bite you back
They always say they're "big fans" of the thing they shortly commence to tear to shreds. It's obligatory and tiresome by this point. Just say you don't have the talent to do anything other than first person shooters and be done with it guys.Andy Chalk said:"We're big fans of the original Syndicate, and we're definitely paying as much homage to it as we can - bringing across the essence of the world, the core essence of what it is to be an Agent," he continued. "That sounds wanky but it's true - we're taking the Persuadatron and evolving it in different ways, the weapons and brutality. On both facets of the game, the co-op and the single player, it's very key to stay true to it."
Right on Andy.Sounds great but if you'll allow me a bit of pedantry, the agents at work in the original Syndicate weren't heroic J.C. Denton types; they were effectively mindless machines under the direct control of an "eye in the sky" overseer who fine-tuned their performance by injecting [or withholding] copious amounts of drugs. Based on the classic opening cinematic, they didn't exactly enter the profession voluntarily, either.
Passable. Nice cutscenes in between elongated quick time events.ChildofGallifrey said:Hmmm. I wonder how I missed that one? I used to really like C&C back in its heyday. Was the game any good?
AAA is basically big budget, thats what it boils down to. It means big publisher, big marketing, and big development costs.The_root_of_all_evil said:I never really worked out what stands for AAA these days. Seems to be just whatever franchise they're milking to death; that's being sold at midnight.Continuity said:Those games you listed are either not AAA or are considered standard genre.
