Ah, the joys of make a stand on a very precise point.

I can see why Stardock is doing this: they're boycotting a company because they don't want to be associated with a company that makes a political point of pulling it's ads from another company because of what one person associated with that company said.

Which is commendable in theory. In practice, Stardock's position is so precise and pedantic, hardly anyone can distinguish it as being anything other than a show of support for the view that caused UPS to pull in the first place. Namely, that Stardock fully supports Glenn Becks's outburst and is punishing UPS for opposing it. Not true, but maybe Stardock should've quietly dropped UPS if they care so much and given some other reason for doing so.

After all, Mr. Wardell says what he's unhappy about is UPS trumpeting it's politics with it's advertising, so why would he want to do likewise and be seen as a hypocrite by those few who bother to understand his point in the first place?
I couldn't have said it better myself. In fact, I didn't. After I read your post I erased my own.

"Frankly, I wouldn't have cared if UPS had pulled their ads from Fox if they had done so quietly. But they didn't. They had to 'take a stance'," he explained further on his personal blog at JoeUser.com [http://frogboy.joeuser.com/article/365378/Facebook_Boycotts_and_Politics]. "I'm not a huge fan of FOX. But as a conservative, it is nice that there's one station where my values aren't ridiculed. I don't have some 'thing' for Fox. But Fox makes an easy target and it irritated me to see UPS playing such games."
And Fox news doesn't play games or make conservatives look like stupid backwards racists?

What happened to you Stardock, you used to be cool. And UPS wanted to make it clear to people that they weren't going to let their corporate image be linked with that twat Beck. Its a business decision to keep their corporate image cleaner and still respected, thats all. This boycott of UPS on such matters is stupid, and frankly makes me alittle sad that the guy who I thought was pretty smart, especially about how to handle piracy, could accidently align himself with this Beck guy.

they should just change the name from 'Fox News' to 'Fox OpEd'. they do not broadcast news... they broadcast oppinons and personal beliefs. and i'm sorry to say, that isn't news, that is an OpEd.

i wish there was a 24 news network which was just purely an AP feed which didn't try and shill their own beliefs but rather simply broadcast raw news to us.
Sadly, even that wouldn't be free of believes/opinions; after all, who decide's what is news worthy? Was Bush's illegal phone and internet tapping news worthy? Or whatever Obama will get up too? And what about the rest of the world; is the torture of people by US allies and the oppression of their own population news worthy?

There is simply too much information around the world to be fully aware of every news item that could be listed.

Yeah I just lost a massive amount of respect for Stardock. I have friends with what would be considered conservative points of views in the US and respect them but what Fox news spouts is pure and utter BS and they should be slapped down already for having the tenacity to use the words 'fair' and 'balanced' on their website and news.

Besides, I'd say allowing someone to act as Glen Beck does is a good enough reason to boycott the entirety of Fox.
no, you dont have conservative friends that say that, shut up, i have monkey friends that hate monkey rights, this is truth.

have fun with that whole twisted reality thing though.

I'm with UPS on this one. Stardock just made a big mistake.
LOL
maybe youve never used UPS, im not sure why he wasnt ALREADY with fedex, ups sucks way too hard to be a loss.

okay look, you guys are ALL morons, so its useless to continue quotes. so here we go:
on fox
conservatives: hannity, gutfeld, cavuto, fox and friends (three of them)
libertarian:beck, orielly, levy, shultz
liberal:colmes (quit tv to do fox news radio), vansustren, shep smith, geraldo

feel free to fill in more, i dont remember the rest

the only unbalance is in the opinion area, where there are are conservatives and libertarians outnumbering liberals, but when they say
"fair and balanced" they are talking about REPORTING, which is true, ive never seen them say "hannity, he has a fair and balanced OPINION"

edit: oh yea, and whats wrong with a right leaning news channel, when the left dominates media? it reminds me of this comic i saw, where everything else on tv is in bed with the left, but fox is a whore for being in bed with the right. lol.

edit 2:
new york times:
obamas Copenhagen trip was a ruse, he wasnt there for the olympics, it was a secret meeting with the general, LMAO
Wow, what a moron 4chan-er. And if you're not from 4chan, its probably you're sort of place. For starters, sentences begin with a capital letter - you may remember this from your first days in school, but now you're a big boy, you need to keep on doing it by yourself; I know its hard, but the shift key is right there.

Secondly, 'OMG RETARD' is not a valid argument; at best its flame baiting (again, 4chan might be your sort of place).

Thirdly, I don't know much about Fox, not being a UK citizen, but judging by the whole SEXbox thing (see the YouTube video below), I doubt they have a balanced view on... well, anything, more than likely. The sheer amount of bullshit that seems to come out from this video alone, and the amount that seems to generally come from them, makes it seem more than likely to me they aren't a valid news channel.

Either way, I doubt you'll answer this, or if you do, I doubt it'll be more than "OMG, WHAT A RETARD, FOX NEWS ISN'T BAD!"

Fox News is the most important mouthpiece of conservatives, republicans and their corporate money making buddies in the industry. News should be reported from a neutral standpoint in order for the public to form their own, educated opinion on matters.

Instead, Fox News reports in a biased manner designed to CREATE opinion. They also report alot on celebrities and sensationalist crime scenes in order to distract people from the real issues. They want to make the public believe things which will benifit corporate and conservative america and keep consumers complacent instead of having them think about what is really going on out there. But the real problem here is that they willingly bend and distort facts in the process, which I think is outrageous. For Democracy to function, information must flow freely and truthfully.

Almost everyone across the world knows that Fox News is worthless, maybe even dangerous, except in the U.S. where so many people watch it.

Almost everyone across the world hated president Bush except in the U.S. where he still had an approval rating of more than 50%.

Almost everyone across the world knows that the american health care system is a disaster and approves of president Barack Obamas policies, except in the US, where people call him a communist and a nazi.

Obviously there are huge discrepancies between what the world thinks and what americans think, and that is thanks to the big, corrupted and opinion shaping american news networks such as Fox News.

No other news site has such a big list of controversies on Wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_News_Channel_controversies

As an european, sometimes I watch Fox News via satellite or visit their homepage on the internet, and it scares the shit out of me that so many americans are watching and consuming all of that "fair and balanced reporting".
