Its guilt by association.

If someone is a jackass to you, your not only gonna despise them, but think very little of the people who hang out with him. Afterall, there must be something wrong with them to consider that guy a "friend"...

Besides, Fox made its decision to lose advertisers. If they so desired, they could have issued made Beck issue an apology and stoke some of the fires, but they decided they would rather lose some advertisers then viewers...

oh, & lol defending FOX as mouthpiece for conservatism.
Its that kind of talk that makes me wonder wether Wardell agrees with Beck, or is truly ignorant of his own party's political beliefs. If he is ignorant of programming on FOX and how he defines his conservative beliefs, he should just keep his mouth shut before speaking of politics then...

I think that it would be better if Brad Wardell kept his political views to himself and didn't use his company as simply a means to get them across.

I enjoy a lot of Fox's programming too, but if this guy is upset about UPS "taking a stance" and pulling advertising from Fox over some really ignorant political commentary they didn't want their service associated with, isn't Stardock now doing the same thing? The first part of the argument made sense, but then he threw on the "I like that Fox doesn't ridicule my conservative views", and made the Stardock boycott more political than it was before he attempted the damage control.
I for one will not boycott Stardock, because the political views of their CEO does not affect the products and services Stardock offers. Also, their decision to use FedEx doesn't affect me since the only Stardock products I buy are digitally distributed.
Come to think of it, how much business is UPS losing over this anyway? Seriously.

The problem with UPS pulling out (haha), is that their decision was based on emotions. Never let emotions enter your decision making process. No one watches Beck, sees a UPS commercial, and then thinks "Yeah UPS agrees with Beck".
Again...there is a reason Trojan does not put ads on runs of Spongebob...there is a reason Nickelodeon would never accept the offer if that company made it...

Its very damaging to a companies product if a consumer decides he doesn't like the namebrand anymore. What sort of impact do you think having your novel promoted in Oprahs book club have? What impact if Oprah damns it on her show?

Good for you stardock. The only thing people understand is money. Hit their wallet.
WTF!!!!!

UPS's is bad for making an emotional decision (even though it was as much a business one), but Stardock isn't bad for making an emotional decision?! (even though it had very little to do with business)

I'm a sorter at UPS and I had no idea who the guy or his company was until I read this article. My friends and I like to make fun of the logos, taglines and cities that the boxes go to. At 1,000 someodd boxes an hour, you'd think I'd see at least a few.

Hmmmm, I haven't watched Beck in a while. I can't see UPS doing advertising as much as I could see Kleenex.

Is it just me or does this just make Brad Wardell look completely insane?

P.S. news stations shouldn't be about opinions or ideology.

Guilt by association. People boycott Fox for something only one of their people said...

On the other hand, Stardock boycotts UPS for one decision it doesn't agree with.

Oh, and its not because the CEO is conservative...its because he is an idiot.

How can you be a fan of Glenn Beck? Thats like being a fan of Goebbels, I mean c'mon Beck is about a racist as it gets. And I do enjoy how he claims to be under constant attack, with people attempting to silence him, when he's on the largest news network....

they should just change the name from 'Fox News' to 'Fox OpEd'. they do not broadcast news... they broadcast oppinons and personal beliefs. and i'm sorry to say, that isn't news, that is an OpEd.

i wish there was a 24 news network which was just purely an AP feed which didn't try and shill their own beliefs but rather simply broadcast raw news to us.

A few figures

Stardock: Revenue: $20+ million, Employees: 60+
UPS: Revenue: £51.5 billion, Employees: 425,300

That's not to forget Stardock's legal right to charge for using a file format, which they settled out of court for.

Nice.

And it would be remiss of me to link to his blog [http://draginol.joeuser.com/] where he talks about how many pills he's taken today. Whoops!
Not a week has gone by over the past decade or so that someone hasn?t contacted us saying they will never purchase something from my employer because I, being said employer?s CEO, offended them with something I said.

I personally don't know if Glenn Beck is racist, I don't personally see it but that's me, and I have no clue who or what Goebbels is. As for why I like Glenn Beck I really have no reason to justify it. Just like any one who is a fan of some talk show who is a Liberal Democrat has no real reason to need to justify to me why why they like that person.

Opinions are formed for a reason. "I like X" is an opinion, but there has to be a reason behind your liking of X, even if it seems to be an illogical one.

I see a number of posts in this thread expressing support for Stardock. For that reason I have decided to boycott The Escapist.

Glenn Beck is a mouth piece....mostly spewing falsities.

So boycotting a boycott, whatever, bet UPS doesn't lose much if any business.

Politics is so confusing now-a-days.
