So if he's not supporting Beck why the boycott? Sounds like he doesn't want any backlash for supporting Beck, but still wants to support Beck.

All in all I seriously doubt UPS cares if some smalltime company that probably won't exist in 5 years starts using another mailing service.

I see a number of posts in this thread expressing support for Stardock. For that reason I have decided to boycott The Escapist.
For your boycott of the Escapist, I'm going to boycott you.

And then subsequently boycott your boycott of me.

Oh Brad, you're such a smart man who runs a good company that makes amazing games. Why, oh why, then did you decide to open your mouth on the world of politics? You're the CEO of a game company, one that I deeply love mind you. Please, just stick to that and leave the politics to the idiots that we call news people and politicians.

they should just change the name from 'Fox News' to 'Fox OpEd'. they do not broadcast news... they broadcast oppinons and personal beliefs. and i'm sorry to say, that isn't news, that is an OpEd.

i wish there was a 24 news network which was just purely an AP feed which didn't try and shill their own beliefs but rather simply broadcast raw news to us.
Umm, what do you think of BBC America? It's not that opinionated.

Wardell's a conservative who doesn't support drm? Isn't that a massive contradiction?
Why would you say that? If anything, I think the case could be made that DRM falls more in line with a liberal solution to the problem.

I guess... but the reason their not using UPS is because UPS doesn't support Fox News? I fail to see the logic in Stardock's reasoning.

Wardell's point was that he didn't like UPS using it as a platform to make a statement. But then he did the same thing. So I agree with what Wardell said, but not what he did.

EDIT: On a more personal note, I've never understood why people do things like this based on political views. For instance I don't agree with UPS's view on the subject, but I still think they offer a great service so I will continue to use that service. I don't agree with anything Rage Against the Machine sings about, but I love their music just the same. I think this kind of stuff is just plain petty and childish.

this is pretty stupid, no matter what he says the Stardock guy is supporting a racist. as for being ridiculed, there is a darn good reason why conservatives are ridiculed about things

So pretty much moral of the story, either practice what you preach or just be quiet.

Glenn Beck deserved that boycott.

I feel like sending the one Stardock game I own back to them. Using UPS.

Yeah, he's basically doing a "Do as I say, not as I do" routine.

He is very vocal on politics just read his blog. Nothing wrong with that more people should be as involved as him. Nothing out of the ordinary either many execs have views that are widely known.

Arguing over which cable news station supports/doesn't support whatever political view is in question is a losing prospect for all involved. All cable news stations are self-classified as entertainment first; they have no obligation to be factual, and they have upheld this in court. It's better for them to generate controversy where none exists in order to drive ratings.

He's not really supporting a racist, so much as not supporting a company willing to quit out on a place due to a persons personal political belief, but then I'm English and don't get fox news, so I know not how crazy the guy is, alot of the our news channels are unbiased, and don't give reporters their own shows. You can always count on the Americans to be impassioned by any subject though.

All I took from this is that Stardock supports racism. Even if I wasn't supposed to.
Well, one of the major themes of their game is the human race proper discriminating and banishing a group of people for being different (TEC vs Advent), so maybe that's not a half-baked opinion...

i'm sure there's not really much to this, but the CEO guy could have chosen his words more carefully, or even have been more discreet about his actions.

We are through the looking glass here people. This is like peeling away infinite universal layers. I have read that article three times and I still cannot make sense of it without drinking cough syrup.

Boycotts are the new lawsuits it seems. or the new passive aggressive playground bully tactics at least.
