Can someone tell me some really good PC games which I can purchase from Steam? I have Mass Effect 2 for my Xbox 360 but I am debating weather or not I should buy it for PC too.

Anything on there by BioWare

I have Left 4 Dead 2 on my Xbox (I had the first one too) but I sucks because the host always leaves - and there is no element of teamwork etc.

The Freedom Force games. Be sure to check it every few days because there is invariably some stupid cheap deal on a game you were going to buy anyway.

I'd recommend checking out Killing Floor and Mount And Blade as unknown good games.

Also, deals are usually splashed across the main front page. The especially good deals are usually on the right side under "Spotlight".

I've heard good things about Freedom Force. I'm planning on getting it very soon. It's cheap too!

I'm quite low-spec so i'm playing:

Morrowind
KotOR
Torchlight
Rome: Total War

All but Torchlight are dirt cheap and Torchlight is sexy pinup anal-fluff cheap

The Orange Box
Garry's Mod (Who's that Garrymon?)
Half-Life (or Half-Life: Source for Garry's Mod, but you can't play on Blue Shift or Opposing Force, nor can you use any normal Half-Life mods including the official HD models)
Painkiller
Bioshock
Braid
Fallout 3

Also try the Human Error mod for Half-Life 2, great shift of perspective in the Half-Life universe

You'll come across ragequitters and harassers in the PC version too. But they're in the rarity. I think the L4D series has one of the nice communities on the PC. Oh and, it uses dedicated servers.

I second the recommendations of Dragon Age and Mount and Blade.

I would also recommend the SpellForce series, and they are on the weekend deal at 75% off just now.

What is Mount and Blade about?

Im a hardcore fan of Mass Effect 1/2 but I have never tried Dragon Age, do any of you think its good? I read the IGN review for 360 and it got a bad write up.

OT: I cant believe no one has said TF2 yet, it was MEANT for the PC, not the consoles.
Christ, you're right. What was I thinking?! I'm going with the "it was too obvious to even mention" excuse.

no seriously, buy Team Fortress 2, pizza, and beer and you've got yourself a weekend.
