People that just HAVE to go on about religious beliefs and how one is wrong, and another is right, etc. etc.

It's so pointless and retarded. I think both Believers and Non Believers know that talking to either is like talking to a mentally retarded brick wall.

I don't know if you can call them stereotypes, but there are certain kinds of people who gravitate towards this site. There are probably equal amounts of elitists who look down on pretty much every other user and posters who don't understand the higher standard this site strives for.

One stereotype I constantly encounter is 'I hate elitists' guy.

They basically go on about how INTOLERANT!! and CRUEL!! a lot of the members of The Escapist can be to new members (though I'm the first to admit that that's true) because they DON'T SHARE THEIR POINT OF VIEW!!!, JUST COME FROM ANOTHER SITE!!!, or CAN'T SPELL PROPERLY!!!

Wait, technically, didn't that post make you an elitist? I smell a time paradox...

Maybe, but I wouldn't look at myself as one of the Traditional Elitists, I'm more of a Progressive Elitist( yes, I'm joking), i.e. while all the above bold, caps lock, inverted, and underlined statements could apply to me I rarely am like that except in the absolute extremes; like that thread we had recently about URs closure being a joke where the OP was 10 years old and couldn't spell.

People here tend to be somewhat elitist with other parts of the internet (primarily 4chan). We also sometimes view ourselves as some sort of bastion of intelligence.

Also, our religion threads are notorious, we love Valve, a good bit of anime bashing goes on (no, it's not all Naruto or hentai. That can't be repeated enough to people), and we go absolutely psycho on threads about a crime/the death penalty.

Escapist 2.0 Users

• Males, Females, Europe and Oceania. Most users are male between 14 and 19 from United States, Canada, Great Britain or Australia. With this generation, heed for others opinions begins to wane and the urge to convey opinions with the hopes of people giving you attention explodes with the creation of the Forum Games and RP section. The Advent of the Ego comes upon the Winter Season with the creation of badges thereabouts.
  Thread Activity: 4 threads per day (25/6 days) approx.
  Era: After Spring 2008. Before the creation of Badges.
  Occurence: Rare, for similar reasons of the Old Community, yet not as rare due to there simply being more of them.
  Heroes of the Generation: Hey Joe, FishfoodCarl, NewClassic, Root_of_All_Evil, conqueror Kenny, The Sorrow, The Iron Ninja, Spartan Banana, Spinwhiz, Saskwach, Khell_Sennet, Former President Darth Mobius, Danzorz, Possibly Myself.

Today's Generation

• Same demographic as the E2.0, but bigger by several orders of magnitude, with less regard for other people's opinions and even more Messianic egos who take what the rudiments the precive of the old community and call it the culture of the site. Namely Patriotic Elitism, which used to be Thankfulness for the Escapist's unique nature.

• You know what they are and how to deal with them. Unfortunately people think it's necessary to all have their own clever quips on their fate, and not to Report.

  Heroes: It is against the Forum Rules to list Banned Trolls.

The Fallen

• These are users who appear at the same time of the Escapist 2.0 and are regular users, who were quite normal until the advent of the modern era whereupon they went out in a flare of Trollish glory.

  Era: Incumbent
  Occurence: Less than 10 in the History of the Escapist.
  Heroes: Taxi Driver, IvoryAgent

No, it is not clever to say you are a god, or admit to having a god complex, people. Please.

Is "He-Who-Corrupts" on said ship? If so, I want nothing to do with your ship.

I don't think I even know who he/she is. The three people I can recall who are on it are The Infamous Scamola, Yelchor (you don't know him, he has 12 posts), and Xvito. Also, NeutralDrow got teleported aboard for being my closest friend here, and Internet Kraken got indirectly approved along with Scamola. Max isn't allowed on board without heavy precautions for security reasons.

After some time on the Escapist, I've noticed a few repeating themes in threads. Let's talk about what typical scenarios in the forums we've seen on the Escapist.

One example would be the "So terrible, people start looking at the persons profile" thread. Occasionally, someone makes a pointless thread with terrible grammar and features of inadequacy that simply blow your mind. Almost immediately, the subject changes to the quality of the post, and soon after you begin to see references to their profile. Example [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.147471]
