I might never play through FFVIII again until the boredom and frustration induced trauma of the entire Desert Prison - Missile Base part of the game is gone from my mind.

Playing through that at a young age scarred me. There's a reason it is the *only* FF game in the series I've only played through once.

I absolutely cannot stand playing the last 5-10 minutes of any sports game on maximum difficulty. You spend the first 80-90% of the game building and holding a small lead only to watch the computer activate God-mode and you can do nothing but hope for a lucky bounce.

I don't get why people are so down on the water temple. It was the only part of the game where the puzzles became interesting and was the only good argument in the game for not being top down like the best games in the series. The shadow temple was really where things got bad. But then again, I see the N64 Zeldas as the non-cdi low point of the series, so perhaps people are just stupid.
lol omg! im one of the few unfortunate enough to have all 3 CD-i zeldas.. the worst games ever!

I still absolutely loathe level 25 in Crash Bandicoot 3, "Bug Light."
No light, except for a a time-limited tiny fairy. Goddamn.

(Well, at least I didn't have to hear "HEY! LISTEN!")

The Gummi Ship parts of Kingdom Hearts. They were improved in Kingdom Hearts II, but I still hate them. Also, fucking Atlantis in II. That world made me hate music for a time.

And any escort mission ever. They are never good.

I get that feeling with parts of certain games, but I don't think I ever have it for a full game, except ones that I know I don't want to play.

Things like Dragon Age's Fade level (people who played it, know what I'm talking about)
And Mass Effect's exploration system.
Usually the beginnings of most RPGs I've played more than once, especially when I want to jump into the action, instead of starting as some peasant boy.

The part in 50% of war games where you have to go through a level without being seen at all for some contrived plot reason.

I thought the fade parts were really cool?

I prefer the gummi ships in the first one to the second. But they arent fun until you dont NEED to do them

Caves and abondoned factories or something like that in every RPG game. I hate them.
And clif racers (or what they are called) from Morrowind. Fucking random attacks with the same sound over and over again. And there's no way to run away from them.

As soon as I read that I remembered why I was on the verge of suicide as a teenager.
Excuse my language: FUCKING WATER TEMPLE!
Okay, I'm good.

Anyway, that, and the Water Temple's succesor, the Majora's Mask Water Temple, which was a confusing maze.
Those two dungeons scarred me. When I got Twilight Princess and found out there was going to be a water dungeon I let loose a string of swear words. It wasn't bad though (thank god).

Getting Epona/the Biggoran sword. Look, I know I played OoT 12 times, but when I went for number 13 just for nostalgia, I got the jewels, grew up, said to myself "Now I just need to get Epona and the Biggoron...", and then shut the game off and walked away. It was annoying every damn time. I just loved that game so much though.

Haha! this made it onto the hot threads list.

Cliff Racers seem to be the most popular answer here.

What about the nude Raiden sequence in MGS2? I HATE that section! Except the pushing Raiden against the torture bed for the soda censorship. that shits hilarious

In Jak 2, there was a mission where you had to escort some of these monkey-like creatures from one side of the city to the other. You are meant to use a hovercar with them in tow. Sounds easy, don't it?
[HEADING=1]But NO![/HEADING]I had to think that you had to escort them on foot, and as such spent hours being frustrated at the poor AI until I finally realized. It that mission still annoys me to this day, as do most escort missions.
