I still hate around 90% of all the beginings of old (and often new) rpgs. Oh no the building is on fire! Get out of bed! Oh no, raiders are attacking the village! Oh no, a big catastrophe is happening! Oh no, I woke up and can't remember my past! Man...give me a break.

Oh yea and I still hate catching a Magikarp and getting the little useless bastard to level 20. While I am at it why do so many Pokemon need to be traded to evolve?

I still hate brewing the recipe in Monkey Island on the ship because I always fear that I forgot something or will throw something important in.

Still hate the wormhole in Diablo 2.

I still don't like the leveling system in Elder Scrolls games because it makes you plan everything so carefully that it feels like a chore if you want to do it perfectly.

But then again, I see the N64 Zeldas as the non-cdi low point of the series, so perhaps people are just stupid.
Ofcourse they are...ofcourse. I'm sure it's not you.

No matter how many times I play ANY Legend of Zelda game, I will never be able to get past how horribly non-innovative it can be, especially when it comes to weapons. That's why I really loved Wind Waker and Spirit Tracks, despite so many people bashing them; the weapons are innovative and genuinely enjoyable to use in all their capacities.

Making a quick mod to give Cliff Racers 300% weakness to lightning eased mine.

The phone calls in inFamous. Goddamn, why not when you beat the game the first time you can skip the damn things?

I've finally gotten to the point where Onin's game isn't hard anymore
...you did know you could pause durring Onin's game and just look for all the buttons that are on screen and then just unpause and hit them all really quick right?

As for a part of a video game that has not gotten any easier or less frustrating to this day, MGS1's torture sequence. My thumbs weep in terror STILL. However, I refuse to lose. I will not ride off into the sunset with Otacon when I could be doing that with Meryl.

Playing Mass Effect again has only caused me to be further enraged by it's terrible design choices. Only this time my hate for the side quests is rivaled by my hate for the AI's complete stupidity. You'd think Garrus would know when to get behind cover instead of standing out in the open and drawing all enemy fire towards him like a magnet.

Though I suppose I should give a more specific example. In Pikmin 2 the Submerged Castle was a nightmare to complete on my first try, and time has not made it any less aggravating. Based on people's other complaints in this thread, it seems that Nintendo goes out of their way to make their water levels as frustrating as possible.

Damn water wraith.
while I love Mass Effect, and don't actually mind the sidequests, and don't actually HATE this part, I gotta say the NPC AI is pretty shitty... I thought "Hey, Garrus's class gets a bonus with sniper rifles... I'll pump his stats into sniper rifles and see how that goes."

nope, he's a moron with it, so I gave him back his assault rifle.

I just pumped up my biotic powers and ignored my companions for pretty much all of Mass Effect. It worked out well.

CLIFF RACERS!

Gah! Fuck! They SUCK! I hate Cliff Racers with a fiery passion.

Hmm, a thing I still hate, after all these years?

It'd have to be those FUCKING BASTARD monkeys from System Shock 2. Small, fast, creepy as hell...OH and they fired CRYOKENISIS AT YOU! Then you meet them later, when you're better armed and now they throw PRYROKENISIS!?

Yeah.

FUCK YOU MONKEYYYYSSSS!

*twitch* This. THIS. THIIIIS. ARRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Or Balverines. I. HATE. BALVERINES.
I almost didn't finish my playthrough of Fable because of the Balverines.

OT: I've never liked the Gerudo Camp area in Ocarina of Time. I usually have terrible, terrible luck when trying to run around the place, and it took me a bloody age to find/kill the last guard. Seriously, those damn carpenters better be grateful.

I had been tempted to mention the piano puzzle from the original Silent Hill, however, once you figure out what you're supposed to do initially, it's fairly easy to do it a second time.

I hate the Ashley level in re4, all of the jet ski sections in Uncharted, and any and all escort missions as previously stated.

The combat system in Dragon Age: Origins, it's a great game, and the combat system's good, however it gets frustrating when you go into a dungeon with thousands of fights.

Bloodmire Manor in Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II, man how I hate that place.
Also, Mt. Gagazet in Final Fantasy X (Or was it X-2, long time since I played that game).
Also, in some mansion or something in a game called Unlimited Saga, there was a sabretiger that was IMPOSSIBLE to kill, never finished the game because of that one.

Driving the snowmobile in No One Lives Forever 2. It's a brilliant game, I love it, but whenever I touch the snowmobile I cringe. Must be the worst vehicle in videogame history.

Also fighting Titan Henchmen in B:AA. Again, I love the game, it's my GOTY for 2009, but fighting Titan Henchmen is dull, annoying and definitely not satisfying.

Certain multiplayer maps on a variety of games will be the doom of me yet. Afghan, anyone?
I would've agreed with you, but strangely, when I picked up MW2 again this morning for the first time in about 2 months, I had a 5:1 k/d ratio on Afghan with a Vector. You can say I was...quite surprised. The only reason I didn't beat my killstreak is because of a random exploding barrel hidden somewhere, that made me rage. Still, it made me wow, maybe my roaming around with the Vector refrained most people from sniping, and loads of sniping usually makes Afghan so horrible.

The mission in Jak 2 where you have to escape from the slums and the Krimson Guards infinitely respawn and shoot you from off-screen.Also if you fall into the water you get insta-killed by some robot thing. That part drove me insane.
