I'm a compulsive reloader
You, me and 80% of other gamers it seems, this is probably the most common compulsion in gaming ever :p

Other than reloading... I do have somewhat of a compulsion to explore everything. I don't mean that in the "I love exploring" way (although I do), but in the "if I'm playing a game and I see an unexplored tiny part of the map, I'll go there, even if I know and it's 100% obvious that it's a dead end". It's probably a side effect of the often used game mechanic of hiding stuff in those dead end, rarely-searched corners.

I hit quick save more often then any other button and if any path I am heading along looks like it is going in the right direction I will immediatly veer off to look for any hidden treasure I might have missed.

Almost constant reloading in most shooters I play, I hate emptying a clip. Kill a few, reload, rinse, repeat.

I the GTA games, I like to drive on the sidewalks just for fun.

its always been reloading constantly even if it was just one bullet.

When I was playing firearms 2 you could reload after you cocked your gun so you could have 1 extra round in the chamber but lately I I have been playing more Neotokyo and when you reload you do do a mag toss so the rounds in that mag are gone.

I have been learning to use each and every bullet now.

I also have a habit of putting my left hand around the WASD keys even when I do non gaming related things.

In Assassin's Creed I would always take a detour to kill any archer I saw. The rooftops are mine! MINE!
It got so bad I crossed half a city to stab one of the pesky critters while the alarms were going off and the entire garrison was out looking for me.

Whenever I play a sandbox game, I must find a vista or some kind of view of everything, some place where I can just enjoy the scenery of the game engine, the other beauty. I especially enjoyed how in Red Dead Redemption how the game would switch to a first-person panorama view if you just let the game sit for 2 minutes or so- you could just watch the weather go by and hope that a cougar wouldn't ruin the experience.

I have to check every room. EVERY ROOM. I might already be completely overloaded with equipment to the point of not being able to move, have full ammo for all of my weapons, have full health and a crapload of healthpacks, and tons of money, but I still have to check EVERY ROOM just so that I don't miss getting whatever cool thing may or may not be waiting for me there.
These pretty much sum it up for me. Also, if I'm playing a game like GTA, I try my best to AVOID running people over on my main game. I'll go mad on a non save game and run over everything in site (occasionally backing up over people to try again) but usually I try my hardest to keep collateral to a minimum in my main game.

Opening every box/treasure chest/item container.

Even if it's obviously a monster-in-disguise, it MUST be opened!

LIke many have said, I care a lot about character customization. I would leave behind powerful armor if it doesn't look cute on my character. I usually play mages and clerics. Usually, because I like their playstyle... but also because they usually have pretty dresses.

If the game is an rpg and allows me to change the names, I would use the same list of names that I have been using for such games ever since I was 8. If I get to name the character, I will fight to keep that character alive even if I have a lot of rez items. If I can't name them, then I feel... oh well they died... you can have a rez after I finish this monster.

My interest in a game increases a lot if I can make the main character female.

My item box must be organized, but in real life, I'm not a very organized person.

In mmo's I always play healers. When walking through towns, I always just cast buffs on everyone I see.

Every thing that I buy (except equipment) has to be divided by five. Never run away from ANY battle and always change the main characters name to my name.
Reload after EVERY kill (shows up even more in MP).
In fighting games always finishing of your opponent in a flashy way.

i collected everything in oblivion. my skingrad house was filled to the brim with crap, weapons, books and more crap. i must of had atleast 3 of every enchanted weapon in the game. it would lag whenever i opened one of my closets because of the tons of crap. i planned on selling it all, but i never did.

In games that shows the gore of your attacks, I always make a signature way to leave corpses. For instance, I started playing The Darkness again. Everyone I kill, gets a shotgun blast to the face.

Or in fallout 3 and new vegas, when I had a melee weapon, the head must be off. They die, head still attached, must remove. It makes me feel like an assassin, with my own calling card.

One a lighter note, I much prefer to look cool, rather than be good. I always drop better armor, versus the better looking armor. And if my character doesn't look appealing, I immediately remake the character.

Yep, compulsive reloader too. I hate watching my bf play though, because he is a NEVER reloader. Even when he's ducked behind something waiting for his health to restore! And "Reload" is coming up in red on the screen!!!! Makes me scream inside.
That's me too! I just can't watch other people play. When they don't reload, or they take a wrong turn, or they don't notice something that I saw, it just makes me want to snatch the controller out of their hands. Biggest one, when I'm trying to explain to someone where to go: "Turn left. No! Not that far! AH, that's right, the other left! NO, No, No THERE!" "Where, here?" "NO!!!"

In any game where you can pick stuff up and keep it I just keep trophies (trophies being anything i see as being hard to obtain, looking cool, or being very expensinve) even if all the stuff is too heavy or im completely out of money

I'm probably more concerned with looking good over better equipment.

That and extreme active reloading
This. In Dragon Age I had to wear Heavy Chainmail or occasionally leather, because the plate mail looks ridiculous. I'm lucky inMonster Hunter 3 though, my favourite armour (barioth) both looks awesome and gives me evasion +2 and cold resistance (also had great defence, marathon runner and ice resistance).

This too. But it becomes so much worse in a 'specific build' game like DA:O or Diablo. Honestly, I'll be like "I wish I could throw a fireball as well as shoot arrows" so I'll make a dexterity mage (which is actually better than it sounds). Three hours in "I wish I could wear decent armour" so I'll make a warrior/strength-mage (shapeshifting is actually good). Five hours in "I want to romance Alistair" so I'll make a female noble rogue.

It's terrible, I've never finished Dragon Age.

I never use anything but the basic pistol and the melee weapon. If there are breakable melee weapons, I never use them unless absolutely necessary. In a horror FPS, I will find a corner and hide in it the second everything goes to hell. If there is a health recharge station that I can reach without too much effort, I will go there no matter how small the damage. I never sell anything that I do not have an exact duplicate of or the stated upgrade. I must perfect the romance sub-plot on the first try, reloading a save long enough ago to fix my mistake or restarting the game if I screwed up that badly

Reloading after every kill (Unless i know there is another enemy really close, then i dont reload enough because i run out of ammo in the clip) i get really anal about this one, forcing friends to always reload and stuff...
Collecting everything / Checking every room
being too forward when enemys attack

Reloading way to much. I reload pretty much every time I fire off a shot.

Also when I kill a enemy I drop my weapon, pick up there weapon, reload it, then drop it and pick up my weapon again.
